Today's Edification (22 March 2024)

Greetings sisters!

I trust you are rising up in the Lord on this day!

Each day we have to arise and make choices for each day! And choose this day whom we will serve! I share some scriptures on the concept of arising.

And Jesus came and touched them, and said, Arise, and be not afraid.
Matthew 17:7

And he said unto him, Arise, go thy way: thy faith hath made thee whole.
Luke 17:19

I will arise and go to my father, and will say unto him, Father, I have sinned against heaven, and before thee,
Luke 15:18

But that the world may know that I love the Father; and as the Father gave me commandment, even so I do. Arise, let us go hence.
John 14:31

(Christ arose to go face suffering and death for us...though He could have easily gotten out of it. Let us also arise to do what we have to no matter how hard it is.)

And he trembling and astonished said, Lord, what wilt thou have me to do? And the Lord said unto him, Arise, and go into the city, and it shall be told thee what thou must do.
Acts 9:6

(Saul had to arise and obey the Lord and he became our beloved brother Paul!)

Wherefore he saith, Awake thou that sleepest, and arise from the dead, and Christ shall give thee light.
Ephesians 5:14

We all slept and were dead in our sins...but we arose and the Lord gave us new life in Christ and new desires and we became new creations in Him! We now walk in His light!

But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light:
1 Peter 2:9

Let us ponder on our glorious Saviour...Christ crucified!

And almost all things are by the law purged with blood; and without shedding of blood is no remission.

It was therefore necessary that the patterns of things in the heavens should be purified with these; but the heavenly things themselves with better sacrifices than these.

So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation.

Hebrews 9:22-23,28

He was the perfect unblemished Lamb of God sacrificed for us.

The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world.
John 1:29

Let us look to Him for the covering of our sins.

And one of the elders answered, saying unto me, What are these which are arrayed in white robes? and whence came they?

And I said unto him, Sir, thou knowest. And he said to me, These are they which came out of great tribulation, and have washed their robes, and made them white in the blood of the Lamb.

Revelation 7:13-14

You know when you see true repentance in someone. No matter what they may have said about you or done to you in the past...if they truly are sorry and humble about it then there's no need to be suspicious of them anymore. You can readily forgive and receive such repentant people into your life if they are striving on in the Lord!

Wherefore receive ye one another, as Christ also received us to the glory of God.
Romans 15:7

It is a wonderful thing. It builds trust again. I love forgiving and showing mercy and kindness to such people. If people have the Spirit and are truly walking after the Lord then they will be bothered greatly by their sins and failings. I know I am. And I know some other saints like that too. Christ has forgiven us and who are we to hold truly repented of sins against people.

And above all things have fervent charity among yourselves: for charity shall cover the multitude of sins.
1 Peter 4:8

How we all need God's mercy and we need to give it too! We need to also be forbearing with those who are striving on in humility as we ALL can fail again and we will in some way or another. We are 'fellow humans' with no one higher or better than the other. Pride and unrepentance destroys much.

For a just man falleth seven times, and riseth up again: but the wicked shall fall into mischief.

Rejoice not when thine enemy falleth, and let not thine heart be glad when he stumbleth:

Lest the LORD see it, and it displease him, and he turn away his wrath from him.

Proverbs 24:16-18

When someone who once told you they would never hurt or harm you in anyway...just goes and does it anyway, well there's absolutely zero trust left for them. So sad for God's glory.

Judge me, O LORD my God, according to thy righteousness; and let them not rejoice over me.

Let them not say in their hearts, Ah, so would we have it: let them not say, We have swallowed him up.

Let them be ashamed and brought to confusion together that rejoice at mine hurt: let them be clothed with shame and dishonour that magnify themselves against me.

Psalm 35:24-26

The times are perilous...believe His Word sisters. The fallen human heart can be so cold and wicked. It's sad. It makes me want to cry out for mercy. Where is mercy?! Is there no mercy?! It makes you treasure God's mercies more when you are in the hands of the merciless and see it happening to others too. And I don't care what people try to do to my own reputation...when God's glory is stolen and He is greatly displeased, it's a sad dark time. The strong delusion can be great. Make sure you have your shield of faith up high sisters. Then you can quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. The spiritual battle is so real. Don't be naive about that.

Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.

For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.

Ephesians 6:11-13

Notice that word wrestle in there. That's what it is. It's a fight.

For it is better, if the will of God be so, that ye suffer for well doing, than for evil doing.

For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit:

1 Peter 3:17-18

Ponder that first verse sisters...it is better to suffer for well doing than for evil doing. Why yes of course we don't want to be doing evil and having to suffer for it! That makes sense. And also that about 'if the will of God be so'. Amen let us submit to His will. "Thy will be done, Lord.".

Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking, be put away from you, with all malice:
Ephesians 4:31

I'm thankful for His Word to live by and be corrected by if needed!

I was pondering that...about His Word being such a guide. I had to make a short trip into a nearby town to do a cleaning job. The car's speedometer wasn't working. And that felt really odd as it's always something you're constantly watching. There was nothing to help guide you in how fast you were going. So too if we didn't have His precious Word we would feel like that too! Hopeless and unguided. But let His Word guide us in this wicked age. It is strengthening and refreshing!

Another thing I was pondering is that when doing physical things sometimes you would rather be doing 'spiritual' things. But I thought of Paul labouring as a tent maker...

And because he was of the same craft, he abode with them, and wrought: for by their occupation they were tentmakers.
Acts 18:3

And how much of life will be very 'normal' a lot of the time in just simple and necessary things of life like cooking and cleaning and gardening and such like. So in a sense everything we do is spiritual really as the Lord told us to not be lazy and to work and to be a good servant and such like. We do it unto Him...and then it isn't in vain! Let us be thankful for all He gives us to labour in!

And that ye study to be quiet, and to do your own business, and to work with your own hands, as we commanded you; That ye may walk honestly toward them that are without, and that ye may have lack of nothing.
1 Thessalonians 4:11-12

I read some scriptures about good works/well doing too!

Proverbs 3 & 4 readings here...

All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.
2 Timothy 3:16-17

I love that. Let us allow the Word which we feed on to do that all in us!

Strive on after the Lord as His good soldiers...enduring hardness!

Love in His Name,

Sister Chayil
