Greetings beloved sisters!
I have no greater joy than to hear that my children walk in truth.
3 John 1:4
Amen...l love hearing of my sisters walking in truth too!
I came across this scripture and was pondering it...
And Solomon said, Thou hast shewed unto thy servant David my father great mercy, according as he walked before thee in truth, and in righteousness, and in uprightness of heart with thee; and thou hast kept for him this great kindness, that thou hast given him a son to sit on his throne, as it is this day.
1 Kings 3:6
We know David sinned...and yet it says he walked in truth and righteousness and uprightness of heart before God. We know that is because he repented. Praise God we too can be the same...righteous, upright, and in truth now despite having sin in our past and the potential of it in the future. God is good! He redeems those with willing and sincere hearts for Him!
I share some scriptures on sincere and pure etc as we know we want all our motives of our heart to be right. Hope it edifies and encourages you too!
Matthew 3 reading here...
I always love thinking about these scriptures...
And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.
Then shall he answer them, saying, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye did it not to one of the least of these, ye did it not to me.
Matthew 25:40,45
Doing or not doing things to others is like doing them or not doing them to Christ. That's pretty deep to ponder and make sure all our actions are right. We know works matter...not just faith.
I had a somewhat quieter day today and more time in the Word and being edified and catching up on some bits and pieces. Hope all you sisters are going along well in whatever works the Lord has given you in this season of your life! Don't grow weary in well doing...let's not! We will reap much if we don't faint!
Sometimes it strikes you deeper just how good of a job satan has done in the deception in this world. Particularly the lie that sin doesn't matter anymore and sin isn't death. What a great lie to get people not to fear. I'm so thankful I don't believe that anymore (and any of you sisters that used to too!)...praise God! We know sin indeed does lead to death, amen sisters. Let us cling to Christ for forgiveness of sins when we repent! Let us flee sin and all false ways faster than we would want to a burning building or some other impending danger!
I was thinking also about keeping good desires alive but not feeling bad or discouraged if you can't use them. You might like to do more to help sisters, or share the gospel more, especially with people who want to listen, but don't have the opportunities much (plus sisters are super rare and those who want to hear the gospel are rare too). But we need to be content and yet keep those as part of who we are because they are good things to want to do! God knows our heart...and our works and if we are doing well in what we can do! Let us rejoice in all we can do! And I'm sure the Lord will have a lot of different things for us to do if we live a long life in Him!
He that is faithful in that which is least is faithful also in much: and he that is unjust in the least is unjust also in much.
Luke 16:10
As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith.
Galatians 6:10
It was a hot day here. Just a reminder of our hope to come of being set free from many trials of this earth...IF we overcome through the blood of the Lamb or it will just get far worse.
Made me think of some of the things scriptures tell us will be different to come...
Heat...no more
Sun & moon...no more
Hunger...no more
Thirst...no more
Death...no more
Sorrow...no more
Crying...God Himself shall wipe away tears (That's precious. Even makes me cry just thinking of it. He is too good.).
Pain...no more
Faith...We shall see Him face to face!
Absent from the Lord...present with the Lord
Corruption...incorruption
Weakness...power
Dishonour...glory
All awesome to think about and strive to be found worthy to partake of!
And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And he said unto me, Write: for these words are true and faithful.
Revelation 21:5
Our whole life is our worship and love for the Lord. When we make sure we're ready to start the day in biblical clothing and headcovering, that is love for God. If we do the works in front of us each day heartily as unto the Lord without complaining...that is loving God.
If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father's commandments, and abide in his love.
John 15:10
Of course there are commands not for us in scripture. The commands on how to be a good overseer in the body is one example not for us women! So we need to discern the context of all commands and obey the ones that apply to us. We know there are commands for everyone in general and also ones very specific for women. Let us search the scriptures with a readiness of mind and rightly divide His Word so we will know these things. It's all important.
For the Lord GOD will help me; therefore shall I not be confounded: therefore have I set my face like a flint, and I know that I shall not be ashamed.
Isaiah 50:7
Press on hard sister soldiers!
Blessed be God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort;
2 Corinthians 1:3
Blessed be God, which hath not turned away my prayer, nor his mercy from me.
Psalm 66:20
Godly love and a holy hug to you in Christ,
Sister Chayil
