Today's Edification (24 February 2024)

Greetings sisters!

Another day to live for our great King and strive for all truth in His Word!

I have no greater joy than to hear that my children walk in truth.

3 John 1:4

Amen...me too!

Peaceful and content...may that be what picture is painted of us sisters!

Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.

John 14:27

But godliness with contentment is great gain.

For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out.

And having food and raiment let us be therewith content.

1 Timothy 6:6-8

Sometimes we can just be living in our small world and not ponder the depths of the giant world out there and the deception and eternity, enough. It hits you more sometimes that we are truly living in perilous times and we need to cling harder to the truth and keep our eyes more fixed on the Lord.

This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.

For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,

Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good,

Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;

Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.

2 Timothy 3:1-5

Each one of those traits we could spend some time pondering and studying on. We know that means they are also sins we do not want to have!

Huge deceptions are going on in the darkness and satan is doing a good job deceiving many left, right, and centre. Most are blind to it but we want to see what's truly going on through the spiritual eyes the Lord has given us and take it all seriously.

I read about the wailing and gnashing of teeth of hell in my scripture reading today...we don't want that for anyone, ourselves included. So many are 'drunk' on a false god of love only who would never punish anyone. Let us wisely fear the true God with whom we have to do.

For thou shalt worship no other god: for the LORD, whose name is Jealous, is a jealous God:

Exodus 34:14

Good to ponder on that. We want nothing to be between us and Him. He is our portion. He is a consuming fire. Let us fear Him alone. So many people have a too small view of God and maybe we all do as we are finite in what we can grasp but we want to see what His Word tells us about Him and how to react to that.

Submitting yourselves one to another in the fear of God.

Ephesians 5:21

Pondering being all submitted/subject to one another in Christ. That involves a lot of humility. There's that fear of God again. Reminds me of the fear that came on the ekklesia when a couple died over one lie.

And great fear came upon all the church, and upon as many as heard these things.

Acts 5:11

The Lord keeps His promises and His Word...yet they are still conditional we know. But let us know that man may have good intentions of keeping his word but may not for whatever reason. Let us all remember man may fail including us so that keeps us humble and not thinking too highly of ourselves. Let us be merciful and gracious to our fellow humans.

Be ye therefore merciful, as your Father also is merciful.

Luke 6:36

For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their iniquities will I remember no more.

Hebrews 8:12

It's amazing how some people have their 'pet' doctrines that they like to hammer on instead of taking every command of God for us equally. We want to be well rounded and balanced, living by every word of God.

And Jesus answered him, saying, It is written, That man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of God.

Luke 4:4

All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.

2 Timothy 3:16-17

People may often tell you to go find a group of believers and have fellowship and submit to them. What a lie from satan as we are always called to separate and divide from sin. In these last perilous days, although it would be wonderful to have a bunch of truly godly people around you, it is not likely to ever be so we must prepare to make it through this world on our own with the Lord. We must hold fast to His Word and not listen to the deceptions of man, testing all things.

Were they ashamed when they had committed abomination? nay, they were not at all ashamed, neither could they blush: therefore they shall fall among them that fall: at the time that I visit them they shall be cast down, saith the LORD.
Jeremiah 6:15

We don't want to be like that. That's not a place you want to be. Reminds me of having a seared conscience.

Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron;
1 Timothy 4:2

Let us be like this instead...

Now I rejoice, not that ye were made sorry, but that ye sorrowed to repentance: for ye were made sorry after a godly manner, that ye might receive damage by us in nothing.

For godly sorrow worketh repentance to salvation not to be repented of: but the sorrow of the world worketh death.

For behold this selfsame thing, that ye sorrowed after a godly sort, what carefulness it wrought in you, yea, what clearing of yourselves, yea, what indignation, yea, what fear, yea, what vehement desire, yea, what zeal, yea, what revenge! In all things ye have approved yourselves to be clear in this matter.

2 Corinthians 7:9-11

That's awesome. Be super thankful if you have a sensitive conscience! But we don't want to take that lightly as we know God can take it away if we harden our hearts.

I looked up the word 'conscience' and there were more mentions of it than I thought so I read some to edify us here in pondering on it...

Matthew 13 reading here....

Love that chapter too! Many good parables and the Lord showing His disciples (and us) many things.

Would share simple yet delicious breakfast...

Boiled water over oats with some coconut and honey. Good blessings from the Lord to keep you going in good works for the day!

Titus 2 tip...

If you don't know about it...grade 0000 steel wool is awesome for cleaning any glass...windows, inside oven doors, glass shower screens, car windscreens, not any tinted glass though (and a few other surface types). Saves a lot of scrubbing energy. Not sure what I did without it but I'm thankful to know about it now. A helpful blessing to help redeem the time and conserve your energy:-)

God knows. God knows. And I'll say it again. God knows! Let us stay in our place and simply trust in Him, which is easier said than done at times but we must!

Wherefore? because I love you not? God knoweth.
2 Corinthians 11:11

And they say, How doth God know? and is there knowledge in the most High?
Psalm 73:11

And he said unto them, Ye are they which justify yourselves before men; but God knoweth your hearts: for that which is highly esteemed among men is abomination in the sight of God.
Luke 16:15

For the LORD knoweth the way of the righteous: but the way of the ungodly shall perish.
Psalm 1:6

Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his. And, Let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity.

2 Timothy 2:19

Let us cast our care on Him and just do what we should!

The eyes of the LORD are in every place, beholding the evil and the good.

Proverbs 15:3

If you're going through trials as is normal to happen...soon those ones will be far behind and new ones ahead. We got to be ready for more so let's be strong!

Press on as good soldiers, sisters! War a good spiritual warfare! Keep going and going and going! May the Lord sustain us all.

Love in Christ always,

Sister Chayil
