Today's Edification (21 February 2024)

Greetings in the Lord, sisters!

I hope you're pressing on hard after the Lord today!

My soul followeth hard after thee: thy right hand upholdeth me.

Psalm 63:8

What a blessing and joy to come back here to share encouragement with you! Perilous times are here and going to get even worse so let's prepare to each stand strong alone too!

I keep saying it but faith is so important. Lack of faith is a bad thing. If we truly have faith we will keep our eyes on Christ and blast right through all the storms! It goes along with trust. Trusting He has all things in His hands and that all things truly work for good of those who love Him. Doesn't mean it won't be hard but it's because we value Him so much more than anything.

Over time you learn you can't really fully trust anyone on this earth and we don't want to think too highly of any human anyway so that's OK and normal. Just good to remember into the future too. In the end, we sisters are all fallen creatures striving to do our best and grow and make the best decisions for His glory. We are not God and are so limited compared to Him. Only God knows the hearts of all, ourselves included. Let us lean on Him!

And they prayed, and said, Thou, Lord, which knowest the hearts of all men, shew whether of these two thou hast chosen,

Acts 1:24

And God, which knoweth the hearts, bare them witness, giving them the Holy Ghost, even as he did unto us;

Acts 15:8

I appreciate willing hearts who love God and even though they make mistakes at times they are humble and poor in spirit and keep pressing on striving to do better for His glory!

Wherefore neither thought I myself worthy to come unto thee: but say in a word, and my servant shall be healed.

For I also am a man set under authority, having under me soldiers, and I say unto one, Go, and he goeth; and to another, Come, and he cometh; and to my servant, Do this, and he doeth it.

When Jesus heard these things, he marvelled at him, and turned him about, and said unto the people that followed him, I say unto you, I have not found so great faith, no, not in Israel.

Luke 7:7-9

I think about how faith is shown in the Word and how it has boldness to ask the Lord for things expecting fully to receive them knowing He is able.

If it be so, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and he will deliver us out of thine hand, O king.

But if not, be it known unto thee, O king, that we will not serve thy gods, nor worship the golden image which thou hast set up.

Daniel 3:17-18

I think of Joseph sold into Egypt too. It didn't look good at the time but it was a good thing in the end. Though we do not see good in some things now, one day we may. If not, He knows best. Don't give up hope sisters! Hope in the Lord! And I also think of Joseph when he was put in prison through a lie by a wicked woman. God brought good out of it too. Think of all he had to forgive in that! We can know vengeance is the Lord's and He will judge and make known all secrets of the heart and motives. May ours be pure as possible.

There are many things in His Word to encourage us through this world and what others have had to go through.

Whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world.

1 Peter 5:9

We are no greater than our Master!

Behold, the hour cometh, yea, is now come, that ye shall be scattered, every man to his own, and shall leave me alone: and yet I am not alone, because the Father is with me.

These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.

John 16:32-33

Praise God for hope and good cheer in Him!

Let us remember our great High Priest sisters! He is perfect! Look to Him!

Wherefore in all things it behoved him to be made like unto his brethren, that he might be a merciful and faithful high priest in things pertaining to God, to make reconciliation for the sins of the people.

For in that he himself hath suffered being tempted, he is able to succour them that are tempted.

Hebrews 2:17-18

Let us also be merciful and longsuffering and gracious with our fellow man.

We then that are strong ought to bear the infirmities of the weak, and not to please ourselves. Let every one of us please his neighbour for his good to edification.

Romans 15:1-2

I'm just sharing all sorts of scriptures that came to me today! His Word is always good and it's good to bring different ones up to remembrance! We have a high calling!

Set a watch, O LORD, before my mouth; keep the door of my lips.

Incline not my heart to any evil thing, to practise wicked works with men that work iniquity: and let me not eat of their dainties.

Let the righteous smite me; it shall be a kindness: and let him reprove me; it shall be an excellent oil, which shall not break my head: for yet my prayer also shall be in their calamities.

Psalm 141:3-5

Grudge not one against another, brethren, lest ye be condemned: behold, the judge standeth before the door.

James 5:9

We have to search deep in our hearts to make sure that is not in us! No matter what others do around us we are responsible for ourselves. Remember the judge stands before the door. We do not want bitterness in ourselves and if we have done all we can to be blameless then we can have confidence with God and be free! Even if we are misunderstood sometimes...we must keep pleasing God and know He knows all perfectly! May we wait on God. He is our full portion! And also trust He will show us any blindness in us as we are fallible always and if we're all growing which means we still have imperfections in us and always will on this earth! Be not discouraged as He is our strength and our Pruner!

Every branch in me that beareth not fruit he taketh away: and every branch that beareth fruit, he purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit.

John 15:2

And not only do we have to deal with our own growth and changes but also with those in others closest to us and the outcome of them. Let us all grow together around the world in Christ and learn from one another.

God's Word always tells us the truth. I often ponder what the Word describes as the bad works of the flesh which we mortify, and the good works of the Spirit. That's a good study for us each to do yet we also know there is bad flesh and there is good flesh. While we walk in the Spirit there is so much physical/fleshly things that we still have to deal with. So many commands in the Word are how to relate to one another physically. One day we will get new spiritual bodies!

If a brother or sister be naked, and destitute of daily food,

And one of you say unto them, Depart in peace, be ye warmed and filled; notwithstanding ye give them not those things which are needful to the body; what doth it profit?

Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone.

James 2:15-17

I hope to 'warm and fill' you spiritually through my blog here with the Word and encouragement!

There are so many scriptures to obey that sometimes many may be at play at once. But we just have to do our best and obey His Word which is always good to obey! The Lord give us discernment in each situation! We need tons of that! And if we are blessed to have others help us...that's an added bonus.

Then Peter and the other apostles answered and said, We ought to obey God rather than men.

Acts 5:29

Remember that always sisters! The Lord help us see what we should do in rightly applying the Word! We are all still learning so let us cling to the Word as it changes not!

Ponder the mercy and longsuffering and kindness and love of God towards us sisters. It is so very great and we deserve none of it. Let us strive to be perfect as our Father is perfect. Praise God we can be reconciled to Him!

And you, that were sometime alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now hath he reconciled In the body of his flesh through death, to present you holy and unblameable and unreproveable in his sight:

Colossians 1:21-22

And they stoned Stephen, calling upon God, and saying, Lord Jesus, receive my spirit. And he kneeled down, and cried with a loud voice, Lord, lay not this sin to their charge. And when he had said this, he fell asleep.

Acts 7:59-60

That's the heart I want to have also. Remember all the Lord has forgiven us!

Titus 2...

Let us keep quietly going about our good works heartily as unto the Lord sisters! I cheer you on and would help you if I could:-)

More psalm readings to edify here...

And the ransomed of the LORD shall return, and come to Zion with songs and everlasting joy upon their heads: they shall obtain joy and gladness, and sorrow and sighing shall flee away.

Isaiah 35:10

May His Word comfort and strengthen us always!

And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption.

Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking, be put away from you, with all malice:

And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you.

Ephesians 4:30-32

Some evening encouragement for my sisters too...

This is the only day we all have. May be our last but I want to have no regrets in it.

Agree with thine adversary quickly, whiles thou art in the way with him; lest at any time the adversary deliver thee to the judge, and the judge deliver thee to the officer, and thou be cast into prison.

Matthew 5:25

Thankful for being able to pour out to encourage my sisters here while it's day! Night is coming. I also am trying to pour out more on my fb page. That's a simple way to put more light in a dark place and if you're careful you don't have to see hardly any of the trash on there. Let us pour out love in action faithfully how we each can which will not all be the same. We all have different opportunities and callings but we want to be faithful in what we can do!

Let us be thankful for all the Lord has taught us, all others have taught us, what we have learned through good experiences and what we have learned through 'bad' experiences and through everything else! This all gives us better discernment. God is gracious to allow us to grow.

Keep following hard after Him sisters! Our redemption draws nearer! Wait on Him sisters!

Wait on the LORD: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the LORD.

Psalm 27:14

Love in Christ,

Sister Chayil
