Today's Edification (13 February 2024)

Greetings godly women!

I hope you're pressing forward in Christ our Lord!

Remembering without ceasing your work of faith, and labour of love, and patience of hope in our Lord Jesus Christ, in the sight of God and our Father;

1 Thessalonians 1:3

I love that...

work of faith
labour of love
patience of hope

Sounds like a lot of good works and effort and endurance going on there! Let us do the same!

I like reading the letters to the Thessalonians as it seems they were very faithful in the Lord! That's encouraging!

So that we ourselves glory in you in the churches of God for your patience and faith in all your persecutions and tribulations that ye endure: Which is a manifest token of the righteous judgment of God, that ye may be counted worthy of the kingdom of God, for which ye also suffer:

2 Thessalonians 1:4-5

Sewing work continues.

And the gospel goes out with more headcoverings. Praise God!

Finally got most of the onions inside....

Bottom of the pantry is full so not sure where the pumpkin harvest is going to go 🤔! Good blessings the Lord provides!

Leftover rice and chicken blessings...

Plus garden veggies and more...

To make into another meal...

Thanks to the Lord for daily bread!

Thankful to have work to labour at with my hands too.

And that ye study to be quiet, and to do your own business, and to work with your own hands, as we commanded you;

1 Thessalonians 4:11

It's a good thing to work hard, quietly minding our own business. Because we don't want to be like this...

And withal they learn to be idle, wandering about from house to house; and not only idle, but tattlers also and busybodies, speaking things which they ought not.

1 Timothy 5:13

For we hear that there are some which walk among you disorderly, working not at all, but are busybodies.
Now them that are such we command and exhort by our Lord Jesus Christ, that with quietness they work, and eat their own bread.
But ye, brethren, be not weary in well doing.
2 Thessalonians 3:11-13

Keep pressing on sisters in whatever good works the Lord has for you to be faithfully working in! Don't grow weary!

I was reading a good article from a sister about enduring hardness like a good soldier. I'm sure I read it when she wrote it but it made me smile as I read it all again cuz it's so true we godly women need to toughen up (or keep going in that), and see how easy we really have this life at the moment. It's something I sometimes think about how the life we know could change at any moment. Well we know the great tribulation is coming closer every day. (No pretrib rapture by the way.) We want to be solidly rooted in Christ with His Word hid in our hearts as we may not have access to His Word at some point. War could erupt around us, suffering and death could come to someone close, a deadly disease could be in us, famine and pestilence could come upon us, or hard persecution may arise against us as saints, and many other such things.

Though an host should encamp against me, my heart shall not fear: though war should rise against me, in this will I be confident.

One thing have I desired of the LORD, that will I seek after; that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the LORD, and to enquire in his temple.

For in the time of trouble he shall hide me in his pavilion: in the secret of his tabernacle shall he hide me; he shall set me up upon a rock.

Psalm 27:3-5

Let us be prepared to stand strong, trusting in the Lord through such times. And yet daily life has trials enough to endure through for sure...but just a reminder of keeping it all in perspective. We know we are in a spiritual battle which is not something seen necessarily. Either way...let's press on in whatever is the Lord's will for us each day. He will give us what we need if we trust completely in Him so we don't need to fear the future either! Our reward is in the next life...not here, although we are blessed in many ways here too.

A brother was reading in Genesis about Abraham offering Isaac. That's quite an account. His faith in God was so strong to be able to do that. His works...in that he obeyed and had the knife ready to complete his obedience proved his true faith. He loved God more than his son.

Was not Abraham our father justified by works, when he had offered Isaac his son upon the altar? Seest thou how faith wrought with his works, and by works was faith made perfect?

James 2:21-22

Whatever trials the Lord has for us will also prove our faith or whether we are reprobates having believed in vain. Let that not be so among us sisters. May our hearts be set on Christ and living out the cost no matter what.

Next psalm readings to edify here...

And some scriptures on life here to encourage us in our Lord who is life!

And then a sister also shared some of this scripture which goes along with it also...
See, I have set before thee this day life and good, and death and evil;

In that I command thee this day to love the LORD thy God, to walk in his ways, and to keep his commandments and his statutes and his judgments, that thou mayest live and multiply: and the LORD thy God shall bless thee in the land whither thou goest to possess it.

But if thine heart turn away, so that thou wilt not hear, but shalt be drawn away, and worship other gods, and serve them;

I denounce unto you this day, that ye shall surely perish, and that ye shall not prolong your days upon the land, whither thou passest over Jordan to go to possess it.

I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live:
Deuteronomy 30:15-19
Let us choose life which is in Christ our Saviour!

This is what we are all busy preparing for...

Let us be glad and rejoice, and give honour to him: for the marriage of the Lamb is come, and his wife hath made herself ready.

And to her was granted that she should be arrayed in fine linen, clean and white: for the fine linen is the righteousness of saints.

And he saith unto me, Write, Blessed are they which are called unto the marriage supper of the Lamb. And he saith unto me, These are the true sayings of God.

Revelation 19:7-9

That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word, That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish.

Ephesians 5:26-27

Praise God! Let's keep getting ready for the wedding, sisters! We want to be spotless and pure.

Sharing some older scripture pictures from my stash (with awesome sunflower creations!)...

Awesome scriptures and creations He made. Glory to Him!

Now the end of the commandment is charity out of a pure heart, and of a good conscience, and of faith unfeigned:

1 Timothy 1:5

And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity.

1 Corinthians 13:13

And above all these things put on charity, which is the bond of perfectness.

Colossians 3:14

Fervent charity in Christ,

Sister Chayil
