Today's Edification (12 February 2024)

Greetings sisters!

Hopefully you're pressing forward with your hand to the plough, not looking back!

And Jesus said unto him, No man, having put his hand to the plough, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God.

Luke 9:62

Each day is a new one and there's new mercies and hope in the Lord as we strive on! Each day is all we have! And He is all we need. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof. Let just focus on today and all we need to get done and overcome! And just 'be' His daughters too...pondering Him and His goodness and being still and knowing that He is God!

Beloved, think it not strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened unto you: But rejoice, inasmuch as ye are partakers of Christ's sufferings; that, when his glory shall be revealed, ye may be glad also with exceeding joy.

1 Peter 4:12-13

Think it NOT strange! But rejoice! I was pondering some things that help me rejoice in the Lord.

Pondering on learning to embrace trials or any hardness for Christ's sake as it means we are blessed in Him!

Learning to embrace loneliness as it is a blessing to not be lost in the world with the masses and it also means God's Word is true as few is few. It is in the next life that we will see Him face to face and be with the multitude of His saints! Let us look by faith at all we have in Christ! No we may not have much on this earth...but incredible promises to come if we endure faithful!

By faith he forsook Egypt, not fearing the wrath of the king: for he endured, as seeing him who is invisible.

Hebrews 11:27

Let us also endure as seeing Him who is invisible!

Learning to embrace sorrow. Our perfect Example Jesus Christ Himself was a man of sorrows and acquainted with grief. Paul too. So we shouldn't think it strange if we encounter that too. We know Jesus said blessed are they that mourn and are poor in spirit. Let's keep a humble spirit before the Lord and in this dark world, seeing and knowing the depths of what is going on.

In all this we can still be of good cheer of course and rejoice in the many blessings we have in Christ and be thankful no matter what! Christ is our hope, our only hope and joy in this world and in the world to come! He is the object of our joy! He has overcome the world!

Not that I speak in respect of want: for I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content.

I know both how to be abased, and I know how to abound: every where and in all things I am instructed both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need.

I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.

Philippians 4:11-13

For the time is come that judgment must begin at the house of God: and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God? And if the righteous scarcely be saved, where shall the ungodly and the sinner appear?

1 Peter 4:17-18

That's quite a sobering scripture to ponder. May the Lord help us to walk circumspectly and discern rightly and wisely what He would have us do in each situation.

I was pondering on 1 Peter 3 for women about the meek and quiet spirit we are to have. It is one of submission and trust in the Lord and being peaceable. We know from 1 Timothy also that we are to be adorned with good works. And we know from Proverbs 31 that a woman that fears the Lord will be praised!

As women, we submit to male authority whether it be husbands or elders in the body (or fathers if they are biblical). This glorifies God as it is His order and what He commanded. We put down the flesh and walk in the Spirit to obey this whatever our situation is.

We also know women can teach other women in Titus 2 areas and speak of the hope of Christ, the gospel! We also know women can prophesy but this is not in the body gathering with the men as we are to be silent at such times.

But every woman that prayeth or prophesieth with her head uncovered dishonoureth her head: for that is even all one as if she were shaven.

1 Corinthians 11:5

Let your women keep silence in the churches: for it is not permitted unto them to speak; but they are commanded to be under obedience, as also saith the law. And if they will learn any thing, let them ask their husbands at home: for it is a shame for women to speak in the church.

1 Corinthians 14:34-35

Let us not live in shame and disobedience in any way but submit to the Lord's order.

But if I tarry long, that thou mayest know how thou oughtest to behave thyself in the house of God, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and ground of the truth.

1 Timothy 3:15

Praise God to know His order for His glory!

And I share some scriptures about seeing God here...

What a great promise! Let us be found worthy.
But they which shall be accounted worthy to obtain that world, and the resurrection from the dead, neither marry, nor are given in marriage: Neither can they die any more: for they are equal unto the angels; and are the children of God, being the children of the resurrection.
Luke 20:35-36

I took you with looking under the leaves at tomato and pumpkin blessings...

The Lord is good to provide in the many different ways He does for us all! His creation is amazing! It's still doing what He created it to do back then! Let us sisters be doing what He created us for also!

Hold fast sisters! God be praised!

Love in Christ,

Sister Chayil
