Today's Edification (22 January 2024)

Salutations to my sisters who love the Lord!

I hope this finds all well with you in the Lord. And I know I say it often but I do mean it:-) We sure never want any empty words or to not be careful with what we say. And we sure don't want to say something we don't really mean. That would not be sincere and could even be a lie if we knew it wasn't true and still said it. I really do hope you are striving on and not struggling in the battle or falling back. I'm here for you if you are.

Wherefore lift up the hands which hang down, and the feeble knees; And make straight paths for your feet, lest that which is lame be turned out of the way; but let it rather be healed.

Hebrews 12:12-13

Sometimes I think about this scripture and the responsibility I have to be focused on the things of God.

There is difference also between a wife and a virgin. The unmarried woman careth for the things of the Lord, that she may be holy both in body and in spirit: but she that is married careth for the things of the world, how she may please her husband.

1 Corinthians 7:34

Of course we all have work of the world to focus on which ends up being pleasing to the Lord anyway if we do it well (in my case, serving others). I am very thankful to have this blog to be able to share edifying content out into the world...from the somewhat secluded life I live and not physically out in the world much. I care about my sisters and want to do my best in that to edify and encourage them in whatever calling they have.

I want to be like Timothy who was anxious about the saints...

For I have no man likeminded, who will naturally care for your state. For all seek their own, not the things which are Jesus Christ's.

Philippians 2:20-21

Try to do my best anyway...and that's all we can do!

Titus 2 word of the day...good. That's a huge concept! We know God is good. And we know what His word calls evil.

This is not what we want to do...

Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!

Isaiah 5:20

We know of all the scriptures that speak of good works we are to have!

This is a faithful saying, and these things I will that thou affirm constantly, that they which have believed in God might be careful to maintain good works. These things are good and profitable unto men.

Titus 3:8

Whether we were good or bad will mean a lot before the judgement seat...

For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad.

2 Corinthians 5:10

So let's strive to be and do good sisters!

As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith.

Galatians 6:10

Let us cling tight to the truth and to that which is good like a lil one does with his hands...

Prove all things; hold fast that which is good.

1 Thessalonians 5:21

I was thinking what are the main things we look forward to each day. To me it would be being able to serve the Lord one more day. Obviously that involves many other things (obeying and glorifying Him). I look forward to biblical fellowship with sisters too. That is such a blessing in this dark world. Of course we look forward to going home to be with the Lord where all things will be made new and all trials will be gone!

As you mature in the faith, you learn to bear or look past the sins of the world more easily. We know the world is the world and they do what they do. We were there once. And while of course it can be a great trial and wearing and to be sure we hardly see any of it but just in every day life I mean. It doesn't mean we are condoning it in any way of course. We know we don't moralize anyone either as without a changed heart, changing outside actions means nothing for eternity. Let's endure this world for His glory sisters! We are not our own!

I pray not that thou shouldest take them out of the world, but that thou shouldest keep them from the evil. They are not of the world, even as I am not of the world.

John 17:15-16

I ponder a lot of things of God during my days and I'm popping in and out of my blog post draft very many times a day writing down notes. So it may be just a collection of various thoughts but hopefully something is helpful to you.

Let us not let satan steal our joy in Christ! Or our flesh or circumstances. Yes of course there is a place for sorrow but through it all may we have His joy and peace. We know satan is a thief and a liar so of course he will try to steal good things from us and try to get us to think things that are not true! Rise up sisters, be strong, and resist the devil and he will flee!

Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.

James 4:7

Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour: Whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world.

1 Peter 5:8-9

Resist him stedfast in the faith!

Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.

Ephesians 6:16

Let us press on in all we know is right. We don't want to not do something right for fear of making mistakes along the way. But we want to press on and grow! Praise God for all the opportunities in our lives to grow and learn through no matter how humbling it can be. We will be purified and refined along the way if we keep a willing humble heart hungering and thirsting after righteousness.

This faith life is not for the faint of heart. Well at least they may not make it. We have to be very strong and courageous to press through all that needs to be done. There are warnings in scripture not to grow weary or faint so we know it is possible that at times we will feel that way and it can be a danger. But we must press on in His strength!

And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.

Galatians 6:9

For consider him that endured such contradiction of sinners against himself, lest ye be wearied and faint in your minds.

Hebrews 12:3

He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength.

Isaiah 40:29

He is mighty to help us not to faint!

Let us remember we have a great Comforter!

And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever;

Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.

I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you.

John 14:16-18

We have so much don't we sisters! We therefore have a lot of responsibilities for sure. We want to be faithful in it all.

(Thank you sister for the scripture picture:-) Reminds me that every knee will bow to Christ.

That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth;

Philippians 2:10

Hold fast sister soldier saints!

Love in Christ,

Sister Chayil
