Today's Encouragement (14 March 2022)

Greetings sisters!

Here we are another day in the Lord! We know our days are numbered though. It is a blessing to know we're not living vain lives for ourselves and fulfilling the desires of our flesh any more. Instead we labour for eternal things and things to please God. It is so satisfying but I know it can be challenging to have to live in a world where few are doing that. But then we remember that God has us here to glorify Him and we do that by our good works for one. He created us and bought us with His blood...so we are doubly His. If we're His then it is going to be a big deal because He is such a high and holy God and calls us to be set apart for Him in faithfulness. With such a God as we have, whose ways are higher than man's...then we know we are not going to be recognized as the world which is satan's.

If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you.

John 15:19

Right sisters...we know the world loves those who live like them. Sadly we see that most who claim to be Christ's by believing in Him are perfectly loved by the world. Surely this shows that we must be different...we must be doing things, which would be our works. And they hate those. We know if we do obey and if we intreat others to repent also they then hate us because they hate God ultimately and His truth we are living. They love darkness and their own ways. Also we see what people are actually doing...they hate God behind us (no matter how much they may also cry that they love Him. It's lip service because love is obeying Him). And that's a serious thing to be doing. It will not be well with them lest they repent of that.

This is a joyous one!

And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night.

And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid.

And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people.

For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.

And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger.

And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying,

Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.

Luke 2:8-14

How amazing that must have been for them! And today we still are blessed in Christ as we patiently await His coming again. We are working and watching and waiting and want to be found ready, serving Him at all times!

I have planted, Apollos watered; but God gave the increase. So then neither is he that planteth any thing, neither he that watereth; but God that giveth the increase.

1 Corinthians 3:6-7

Yes we love remembering that...we just do our duty and it's God that is over all our labours and we are only doing what we should and we leave the outcome to God.

Watering the corn...

Reminds me of the scripture above. I didn't plant the corn...but I am watering it!

Hay blessings for the calves at such a dry time of year...

And that sky is such a pretty blue!

These are huge...

And they are so sharp and hurt!

And unto Adam he said, Because thou hast hearkened unto the voice of thy wife, and hast eaten of the tree, of which I commanded thee, saying, Thou shalt not eat of it: cursed is the ground for thy sake; in sorrow shalt thou eat of it all the days of thy life;

Thorns also and thistles shall it bring forth to thee; and thou shalt eat the herb of the field;

In the sweat of thy face shalt thou eat bread, till thou return unto the ground; for out of it wast thou taken: for dust thou art, and unto dust shalt thou return.
Genesis 3:17-19

And the pain of just one of those thorns reminded me of one small part of what Christ went through as they mocked Him with a whole crown of thorns. He went through so much...to do the Father's will and atone for our sins. And we take this all seriously and do not take lightly His blood.

Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers; But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot:
1 Peter 1:18-19

Was shelling the pistachios today to roast them and aren't they so beautiful!

And their father Israel said unto them, If it must be so now, do this; take of the best fruits in the land in your vessels, and carry down the man a present, a little balm, and a little honey, spices, and myrrh, nuts, and almonds:
Genesis 43:11

Keen to find ways to use up zucchinis here...

Good foods the Lord again provided!

Pretty storm clouds and the moon this evening and a colouful sunset too...

Blessed be the Lord God, the God of Israel, who only doeth wondrous things. And blessed be his glorious name for ever: and let the whole earth be filled with his glory; Amen, and Amen.

Psalm 72:18-19

Glory to the Creator for His creation which is very good! And we know where all the bad comes from...sin...but praise God for His mercy and giving us a chance to seek Him and obey.

From the end of the earth will I cry unto thee, when my heart is overwhelmed: lead me to the rock that is higher than I.

For thou hast been a shelter for me, and a strong tower from the enemy.

I will abide in thy tabernacle for ever: I will trust in the covert of thy wings. Selah.

Psalm 61:2-4

Amen the Lord our God is our refuge! Let us trust in Him...He alone is worthy of our whole trust and all our hope and our life and our love. Let's keep living for Him. May our life be all about Him and being obedient to His ways for us.

Hold fast and stand strong in the faith my sisters! May your day be blessed with peace and comfort and love and peace and joy of the Lord!

Love in Christ,
