Quiet and Peace

Greetings sisters!

Hope you are all standing for the Lord's truth today! And even if you have busy lives doing all kinds of good things we can still have peace in the Lord can't we.

I wanted to share some scriptures on quiet and peace. I am blessed to live a mostly quiet life in the country. And even if a sister lived in a town or city she could live a godly life quietly going about her own business in the peace of God. Obviously we are to bear witness to the truth and be prepared with the gospel but we can live lives of quietness still. So let's refresh in the scriptures on some encouragement in this...

And the work of righteousness shall be peace; and the effect of righteousness quietness and assurance for ever.

Isaiah 32:17

I love that don't you!

And that ye study to be quiet, and to do your own business, and to work with your own hands, as we commanded you;

That ye may walk honestly toward them that are without, and that ye may have lack of nothing.

1 Thessalonians 4:11-12

Amen sisters and we go about our Titus 2 works or whatever the Lord has for us minding our own business as best we can and doing it unto the Lord.

Can't forget this one that pertains to us godly women...

But let it be the hidden man of the heart, in that which is not corruptible, even the ornament of a meek and quiet spirit, which is in the sight of God of great price.

1 Peter 3:4

We certainly want to be doing something which is of great price in the sight of God rather than in the sight of men. After all we know that which man highly esteems God abhors. But we women, sisters in Christ, are not caring what the world thinks of us but what God does. Most everyone may think we are strange if we strive to obey all of God's commands but the thoughts of man are only for a moment. If we overcome we get to be with the Father and all His holy saints for ever and ever! Now isn't that something worth striving for. Yes it is amen sisters?!

And I share some older peaceful creation pictures and some with more scriptures. Glory to God for it all!

I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men;

For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty.

For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour;

Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.

1 Timothy 2:1-4

I like that...a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty. That's acceptable to God. We are strangers and pilgrims here and our home is above but we live our lives unto the Lord shining our lights for God's glory, living at peace the best we can, but we know the world will hate God's truth we stand for. He said that would be so!

Every one that is proud in heart is an abomination to the Lord: though hand join in hand, he shall not be unpunished.

By mercy and truth iniquity is purged: and by the fear of the Lord men depart from evil.

When a man's ways please the Lord, he maketh even his enemies to be at peace with him.

Proverbs 16:5-7

We can have peace amongst the believers...

And to esteem them very highly in love for their work's sake. And be at peace among yourselves.

1 Thessalonians 5:13

We sisters can have peace amongst ourselves. I know that is certainly true with the few of you I am in daily communication with. We have peace amongst ourselves. Praise God for that. And that means we work through any misunderstandings, and we prefer others over ourselves in love. We want others to point out any sins or things that may not be the wisest or may not be the best witness in our lives. And we also are free to bring up a question or point out some area in a sister's life she may want to be aware of or look out for. All this at peace without offending or being offended by each other. If we are we kill our flesh and forgive and it's all in fervent love. I love this...being at peace amongst ourselves. It's certainly not overlooking sin and all getting along with a huge range of beliefs. No. It's all hating sin and loving right and wanting correction and to be pleasing to God and to all grow in Him together. It's such a blessing. God's ways are good! To all be united in doctrine and loving God is a beautiful and rare thing indeed! God's truth, and ways, and people are precious indeed!

And this would be the opposite and what we don't want to have...

For ye are yet carnal: for whereas there is among you envying, and strife, and divisions, are ye not carnal, and walk as men?

1 Corinthians 3:3

Which leads to this what we are to be having...

Now I beseech you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you; but that ye be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment.

1 Corinthians 1:10

That is what is pleasing to God. What a blessing when everyone is striving towards that for God's glory! He is worthy of nothing less!

Well perhaps that all edified and encouraged you sister saints! I hope so and I know the scriptures did! I leave you with these words from our Saviour...

Amen only He can give us real and lasting true peace. Let us remember to not be troubled or afraid.

OK sisters you hold fast to the true faith ok? And beware of wolves and workers of the devil or those who seem well-meaning but in the end are not out for all truth. Our God is so worthy of our obedience and our whole life lived for Him. Look to the Lord sisters! He is our strength, our peace, our rest, and our hope and so much more! Let us abide in Him!

Love in Christ,

Sister Michaela
