Our Reasonable Service

Greetings one more day sisters!

I hope you are all striving on and overcoming all things in the Lord and the power of His might!

How are we all going with our reasonable service to the Lord?

I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.

Romans 12:1

So sisters, as you know our lives are to be dedicated, living sacrifices unto God if we are His. We live holy and how do we know what is acceptable to God? We surely have been given the written Word of God, His Holy Spirit and a conscience. Praise God for so much light and truth!

Is it acceptable and pleasing to God if we don't obey His commands? No of course not! We know that sisters.

It is our reasonable service to obey Him.

We know our entire life is to be turned over to Christ. Our life is not our own so we don't have the say in what we do amen.

Remember that sisters, when people tell you you are going too far. Or if they tell you you are trying to work your way to heaven. Or if they tell you you are legalist or if they tell you you don't have to do this or that. Or if they tell you Jesus loves you and you don't need to stop sinning. And on and on. Those are all lies from satan and if we aren't prepared to answer we can be discouraged and question if what we are doing is really right. Study the Word hard sisters!

As in the parable Jesus told...

So likewise ye, when ye shall have done all those things which are commanded you, say, We are unprofitable servants: we have done that which was our duty to do.

Luke 17:10

We are not adding to God's commands but only doing what the Lord our God who has bought us has told us to do. We are His servants.

What are some particular areas for women in which we do our duty and reasonable service to God?

What about a woman having a meek and quiet spirit without external adornment and being in subjection to her own husband? (1 Peter 3)

It is written that in the sight of God this is a great price. So therefore is something pleasing to Him and our reasonable service. If we obey we are only doing our duty and what we are supposed to be.

A woman is to present herself in long robes without the external adornment and instead be adorned with good works which is becoming of a woman professing godliness. (1 Timothy 2) Again this is just what we are supposed to do and certainly not adding to God's commands or unnecessary.

What is our reasonable service and duty in the area of headcovering?

Judge in yourselves: is it comely that a woman pray unto God uncovered?

1 Corinthians 11:13

No, we know it is a shame, bringing dishonor to man who is her head!

And we know that a woman is to be silent when the body gathers. (1 Timothy 2, 1 Corinthians 14). It's all just what we are supposed to be doing.

And I was up to reading Titus 2 for a sister so I cut it out to share here too to go along with some of these things for women.

I hope it edifies you too. It's more of what we ought to be doing as being sober minded, chaste, keepers at home, teachers of good things etc.

And of course there are many other areas for women to obey the Lord in. And we can do it all, striving the best we can with the Spirit of God to help us.

People might say we are 'being too holy' and imply that we shouldn't even try to live obedient holy lives. Again we don't listen to them. They speak of what they do not know! They are the ones trying to make excuses to live in sin and we by God's grace and power seek to obey Him. And in so doing are only doing what we ought to be! We are not adding to God's Word nor are we ignoring it and not obeying. So we are right in the middle doing our reasonable service and duty. This is pleasing to God!

We are not even trying to get to heaven on our works alone are we sisters! No of course it's all because of our faith in the precious blood of Christ and His righteousness but following on from that we must have the fruits and works of our faith.

Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord:

Hebrews 12:14

We have been told what will happen if we do not produce good fruit...

Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire. Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.

Matthew 7:19-20

So let us sisters not listen to people who say all those excuses and instead listen to God and obey Him! We are only doing our service and duty to Him who has bought us and owns us.

For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's.

1 Corinthians 6:20

I probably repeat myself a lot on this blog but it is all about the things of God, encouragement, and in the things for women, sharing part of my simple life in Him and after all we do all need reminders...at least I do. So I rejoice in whatever I get to share with you...it encourages me and so I hope it does you all too!

But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.

Hebrews 11:6

Amen sisters! We are blessed with far more than we deserve! That's an awesome scripture. Let us diligently seek Him!

Thank you sister for sending scripture picture gifts (or adding scriptures to my pictures:-) Let's ponder the verses sisters.

That reminds me of how we are to be sober minded and therefore in control of our words and actions.

Amen He is the light isn't He sisters!

I love that! And seeing the faith of Job!

Amen He is risen!!!

And we declare unto you glad tidings, how that the promise which was made unto the fathers,

God hath fulfilled the same unto us their children, in that he hath raised up Jesus again; as it is also written in the second psalm, Thou art my Son, this day have I begotten thee.

And as concerning that he raised him up from the dead, now no more to return to corruption, he said on this wise, I will give you the sure mercies of David.

Wherefore he saith also in another psalm, Thou shalt not suffer thine Holy One to see corruption.

For David, after he had served his own generation by the will of God, fell on sleep, and was laid unto his fathers, and saw corruption:

But he, whom God raised again, saw no corruption.

Be it known unto you therefore, men and brethren, that through this man is preached unto you the forgiveness of sins:

And by him all that believe are justified from all things, from which ye could not be justified by the law of Moses.

Acts 13:32-39

Praise God sisters!

I'm going to leave it there and I hope it edified you! May your days be joyous and fruitful in the Lord sister saints! Lord willing I shall be back tomorrow.

Love in the Lord sisters,

...from one of God's daughters
