Why I Don't Observe Easter/Resurrection Sunday

Good day sisters!

I hope that today is a good day for you in the Lord and you have been able in His strength to overcome the flesh.

"And he said to them all, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me."

Luke 9:23

Today I wanted to share very briefly on why I don't celebrate Easter or Resurrection Sunday as a follower of Christ.

I know there are women who follow along on blogs and just get what they agree with and overlook the rest. There is to be unity in Christ and so maybe some of you who read think we can all have these different beliefs etc. God wants pure and holy lives free from sin and His Spirit will guide us into all truth and away from error.

"Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come."

John 16:13

And He guides us in the Word of God, to obey what is written and reject what is not written.

"Abhor that which is evil; cleave to that which is good."

Romans 12:9

The world and today's Christian religion is going about this celebration called "Easter" at this time of year. As living in the world but not of it I wanted to share a bit on it. I'm sure some of you came out of doing it in the past and repented when you saw it wasn't biblical. Perhaps some others of you are newer in being obedient godly women and this will encourage you in your life. And perhaps some who read this may not have thought of it deeply or may have been deceived. So I hope you will examine your life and all you do diligently.

Once a woman is born by the Spirit having understood and obeyed the gospel she will want to be obeying God and His ways and not following sin or pagan or man-made spiritual ways. First test your life to the gospel which you can study further here. Any good works or obedience without having our faith rooted in Christ is useless. But once we have faith we must produce fruit and obey the Lord God Almighty who alone is to be feared.

"Ye shall walk after the Lord your God, and fear him, and keep his commandments, and obey his voice, and ye shall serve him, and cleave unto him."

Deuteronomy 13:4

So once a woman is a new creation in Christ then she seeks to obey Him as her Master not man or her desires and wants.

Of course we must each search the scriptures to see what is the Lord's will in all areas of our lives and see what He commands us and what He does not. The Spirit will help us.

Of course there are the obviously pagan things associated with this time of Easter...bunnies and eggs and all that which the world does and that have pagan roots. Those are not to be part of godly women's lives who are called to be separated unto a holy God. And if you are a mother with children you will want to keep them shielded from these things. The world may say they are just innocent things but we are to test all things and hold fast to that which is good.

"Prove all things; hold fast that which is good. Abstain from all appearance of evil."

1 Thessalonians 5:21-22

But what about Resurrection Sunday? I don't recognise that either. I am not in a position of authority to go into a detailed teaching on it, but nowhere is it commanded by God to do so and it goes along with the false idea that Sunday is the Lord's day (and also goes along with all the other man made religious ways which must be rejected). If we love God we keep His ways and also we are told to keep the things Paul told us which were commands of God.

I've heard people say oh we love Jesus so much that we want to show our love by celebrating. To which I think how is feeding the flesh and doing what we want pleasing Him? To love God we are to keep His commandments, obey them, the ones that He ordained. We are to be living sacrifices and crucify the flesh instead (That goes along with the time of christmass as well).

So I hope that all who read are striving in obedience away from the world and false man made pagan ways. And if not that you look into it and search the scriptures for truth and don't trust in man and his ways.

Let us shine as lights not let out light be dimmed by letting in error, associating with and dabbling in pagan ways or vain traditions of man that God hates (Mark 7).

And yes you may have to separate from those around you over it but Christ did come to divide and we are to be loving Him first before people.

I hope you could be edified, encouraged, and blessed. Let us all seek first God's kingdom and seek things above.

"Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing ; and I will receive you, And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty."

2 Corinthians 6:17-18
