Isn't that wonderful sisters?! He gives us power to become children of God.
"In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
The same was in the beginning with God.
All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.
In him was life; and the life was the light of men.
And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.
There was a man sent from God, whose name was John.
The same came for a witness, to bear witness of the Light, that all men through him might believe.
He was not that Light, but was sent to bear witness of that Light.
That was the true Light, which lighteth every man that cometh into the world.
He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not.
He came unto his own, and his own received him not.
But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:
Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.
And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth."
(John 1:1-15)
This following passage is perhaps a fitting one to me and any other saints who have to leave behind family over sinful or pagan things like christmas. I was largely sharing it because it again talks about how we can be God's daughters when we are set apart and holy from evil ways.
"Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness?
And what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel?
And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.
Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you.
And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty."
(2 Corinthians 8:14-18)
That's special! We can have a Father in the Lord God Almighty! And we godly women can be His daughters!
There's these lovely banksia trees with flowers at my brother's place. They're yet another of God's unique pieces of creation. (I think it's time for me to ask the florist again if she would like to come and buy some:-) And I'll send her the gospel and my blog too.)
You know what this fruit tree got me thinking about? You can probably guess.
It's very young but it's still bearing a few good fruit (You might be able to see the two on there.). It's an an apricot tree...and it's producing apricots. It reminded me of even if someone is a young believer/convert to Christ (or perhaps a weak and struggling one) they will still be bearing good fruit if they are born of the Spirit.
"For a good tree bringeth not forth corrupt fruit; neither doth a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit.
For every tree is known by his own fruit. For of thorns men do not gather figs, nor of a bramble bush gather they grapes.
A good man out of the good treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is evil: for of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaketh."
(Luke 6:43-45)
"For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them."
(Ephesians 2:10)
Well until I come again to write to encourage and edify the saints tomorrow Lord willing, I will leave it at that.
I pray you are all standing strong in truth and I hope you have a good and fruitful day.
Love and blessings in Christ,
...a daughter of God
