Greetings sister saints!
I am dropping back again with some edifying for your day. Just a little bit today as my day was busy and long but I'm sure you know how things can be and it's all good duties to occupy in but I'm thankful to drop in here a bit too! I hope you are striving on and standing for all truth wherever you are.
I had travels back from the children's as well and I got to listen to scripture.
This stood out to me how saints were helping one another.
But by an equality, that now at this time your abundance may be a supply for their want, that their abundance also may be a supply for your want: that there may be equality: As it is written, He that had gathered much had nothing over; and he that had gathered little had no lack.2 Corinthians 8:14-15
It reminds me how life changes and sometimes someone may have more and sometimes less and vice versa and how they were to help those in need. And the reason saints labour is not only for their own needs but also to have to give to those in need. And we know food and raiment are the most important physical items we all need! And yet most of us have more but as you go through the world you can't help but get tired of what they're rushing after and the efforts and burdens of having a huge amount of possessions. Just seeing it all makes me feel tired as you have to look after it all and then you fear something might happen to it etc.
The sleep of a labouring man is sweet, whether he eat little or much: but the abundance of the rich will not suffer him to sleep.
There is a sore evil which I have seen under the sun, namely, riches kept for the owners thereof to their hurt.
But those riches perish by evil travail: and he begetteth a son, and there is nothing in his hand.
As he came forth of his mother's womb, naked shall he return to go as he came, and shall take nothing of his labour, which he may carry away in his hand.
And this also is a sore evil, that in all points as he came, so shall he go: and what profit hath he that hath laboured for the wind?
Ecclesiastes 5:12-16
So let us seek first God's kingdom and righteousness and all we need will be added unto us and indeed it has been for now and we trust the Lord for the future. May our treasures be above, incorruptible ones!
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, To an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you,1 Peter 1:3-4
So hold fast sisters and keep pressing forwards on the narrow road! We have a lively hope in our Saviour! Love to you in His name.
