Today's Edification (31 January 2025)

Greetings sister saints!

I hope you're doing well and standing for truth today! There is only one truth and that's what we are seeking! The Lord the great Creator of all things is the source of truth! Let us seek it from Him in His Word! We know there is an adversary and all his helpers who are of lies and darkness and death. We are to resist him in the faith so let us be strong in faith in our Lord and His truth! And so I hope today you are striving on for the truth!

And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.
John 1:14

For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ.
John 1:17

But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.
John 3:21

And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.
John 8:32

Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
John 14:6

But when the Comforter is come, whom I will send unto you from the Father, even the Spirit of truth, which proceedeth from the Father, he shall testify of me.
John 15:26

Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.
John 17:17

So let us sisters keep living the truth out in practice! We know faith leads to actions as faith without works is dead!

So also keep pressing on in godly women's duties that the Lord has right in front of you. It's good to keep checking to make sure we're doing our best in what the Lord has given us. We are to be faithful in little and content and thankful as well. We can remember the children of Israel who God brought out of Egypt with a might hand with so many amazing miracles. And they wanted to go back and get to have the good foods of the land again despite the cruelty they were under by the task masters there. God was not pleased with this grumbling.

Neither murmur ye, as some of them also murmured, and were destroyed of the destroyer.

Now all these things happened unto them for ensamples: and they are written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the world are come.

Wherefore let him that thinketh he standeth take heed lest he fall.

1 Corinthians 10:10-12

We must also check our hearts for any such attitudes mustn't we sisters. And we have so much more than they did in the wilderness so no doubt we have a big responsibility as much is required from us. We have so much truth revealed to us and also we live in lands that are pretty wealthy really. How very thankful we ought to be for all His blessings!

And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful.
Colossians 3:15

Rooted and built up in him, and stablished in the faith, as ye have been taught, abounding therein with thanksgiving.
Colossians 2:7

Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.
Philippians 4:6

And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him.
Colossians 3:17

So keep going well with thankful hearts in the things for godly women you're doing sisters! Love to you in Christ and may our Lord be magnified!

Greetings in the Lord sister saints!

I hope you're standing faithful in Him today and resting in Him content and thankful! He is our refuge and strength!

The name of the LORD is a strong tower: the righteous runneth into it, and is safe.
Proverbs 18:10

It is good to ponder where all we do comes from...

Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.
Proverbs 4:23

So it is important we have the right heart and keep it with all diligence! As we know, Jesus said nothing that we eat defiles us but what we do which comes from the heart. Where our feet take us, what our hands do, what we say and write, and what we focus our eyes on all come from the heart. What heart do we want?

A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh.
Ezekiel 36:26

Blessed are they that keep his testimonies, and that seek him with the whole heart.
Psalm 119:2

Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God.
Matthew 5:8

And so we will keep our heart in the truth and have rule over our spirit. The Lord will guide our hearts into His ways as we seek Him!

I came across this and it's sad but we don't want such wicked hearts that the Lord is so grieved...

And GOD saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.

And it repented the LORD that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him at his heart.

And the LORD said, I will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the earth; both man, and beast, and the creeping thing, and the fowls of the air; for it repenteth me that I have made them.

But Noah found grace in the eyes of the LORD.

Genesis 6:5-8

May we also be in His favour, humble and hoping in His precious mercy in Christ.

Keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life.
Jude 1:21

And yes our hearts are still capable of falling into sin that we know and we must keep on guard about but there is hope when we repent! Praise our kind and gracious God for that!

And Noah builded an altar unto the LORD; and took of every clean beast, and of every clean fowl, and offered burnt offerings on the altar.

And the LORD smelled a sweet savour; and the LORD said in his heart, I will not again curse the ground any more for man's sake; for the imagination of man's heart is evil from his youth; neither will I again smite any more every thing living, as I have done.

While the earth remaineth, seedtime and harvest, and cold and heat, and summer and winter, and day and night shall not cease.

Genesis 8:20-22

It's so wonderful that there is hope in God through Jesus our Saviour. But we know we must come His way to find that hope. Otherwise it isn't true hope. But let us sisters who love the truth keep seeking it with our whole heart and laying aside every weight and sin that may beset us. Hold fast wherever you are sisters! Keep being strong in good works and having a servant's heart. Love to you and may our Lord be magnified!

O magnify the LORD with me, and let us exalt his name together.
Psalm 34:3

Today's Edification (29 January 2025)

Hello again my sisters in Christ!

Today was another day in the Lord and for me an extra busy one but I am dropping in near the end of it to share some of His word to feed you! We saints are to show physical hospitality and I suppose we can also show hospitality in feeding each other spiritual food in a way!

I think I will share a few scriptures on peace today! There's so many but here are a few to edify us.

Grace unto you, and peace, from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
2 Thessalonians 1:2

Peace be to the brethren, and love with faith, from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
Ephesians 6:23

And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful.
Colossians 3:15

Let us therefore follow after the things which make for peace, and things wherewith one may edify another.
Romans 14:19

For he is our peace, who hath made both one, and hath broken down the middle wall of partition between us;
Ephesians 2:14

And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.
1 Thessalonians 5:23

Now the Lord of peace himself give you peace always by all means. The Lord be with you all.
2 Thessalonians 3:16

Finally, brethren, farewell. Be perfect, be of good comfort, be of one mind, live in peace; and the God of love and peace shall be with you.
2 Corinthians 13:11

Hope those few out of the many there are edified you and you have His peace in you through all that comes in this faith life! Being at peace with God is a most precious place to be which we must remain in. And so may we also live peaceable lives with those around us as much as we can without compromising as the Lord is first!

Keep pressing forwards and upwards, rooted in Him sisters! I hope your godly women's duties are also going well! May His truth encourage you to keep doing them well! Love to you.

Greetings sister saints!

I'm dropping in to share some edifying in your day! I've had a busy one but it is a blessing to have good things to keep occupied in! But also good to spend time in the Word and pondering the things of God and sharing if you can! It's a blessing to have this blog to share in the Lord and also I'm extra blessed to have some sisters to communicate with in the Lord! But if we have neither the Lord is always ready to hear His children speak to Him! He can listen to all His children around the world at once. He is Almighty!

I heard this scripture the other day and it's also encouraging for us today in fighting our spiritual battles.

And he set captains of war over the people, and gathered them together to him in the street of the gate of the city, and spake comfortably to them, saying,

Be strong and courageous, be not afraid nor dismayed for the king of Assyria, nor for all the multitude that is with him: for there be more with us than with him:

With him is an arm of flesh; but with us is the LORD our God to help us, and to fight our battles. And the people rested themselves upon the words of Hezekiah king of Judah.

2 Chronicles 32:6-8

Our Lord is still greater than all adversaries and He always will be of course! May we stand in His strength and with all His armour on!

Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ;
Titus 2:13

Thou shalt not be affrighted at them: for the LORD thy God is among you, a mighty God and terrible.
Deuteronomy 7:21

The mighty God, even the LORD, hath spoken, and called the earth from the rising of the sun unto the going down thereof.
Psalm 50:1

For the LORD is a great God, and a great King above all gods.
Psalm 95:3

Our God is great and Almighty and nothing is impossible with Him! What a blessing and honour it is to know Him and that we get to be His children and servants! Let us rejoice in this and also fear God and keep in our place before Him.

I hope all your duties as godly women are going well in whatever life you have sisters! May we press on with patience. Love to you in His name. Hold fast sisters!

Hello sister saints!

Here is one more day to live for our Lord! I hope wherever you are that you're doing well, yet we know to expect trials and challenges so that's normal too but I hope you're standing strong in the faith! Truly that's what matters most!

Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.
Ephesians 6:10

Watch ye, stand fast in the faith, quit you like men, be strong.
1 Corinthians 16:13

Thou therefore, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus.
2 Timothy 2:1

We must be strong to be able to make it...strong in the Lord as we are but feeble humans. But in His strength and truth we can overcome! There's a lot we need to overcome and we can't focus on that but need to keep our eyes on Him who is our Help! Nothing is impossible with Him! Let us trust and rest in Him and keep running our race with patience!

Be merciful unto me, O God, be merciful unto me: for my soul trusteth in thee: yea, in the shadow of thy wings will I make my refuge, until these calamities be overpast.
Psalm 57:1

Because thou hast been my help, therefore in the shadow of thy wings will I rejoice.
Psalm 63:7

How excellent is thy lovingkindness, O God! therefore the children of men put their trust under the shadow of thy wings.
Psalm 36:7

Keep me as the apple of the eye, hide me under the shadow of thy wings,
Psalm 17:8

Those are comforting thoughts aren't they. He is our caring and merciful Father.

And He sent His beloved Son to become as one of us and go through much of the things we face.

For both he that sanctifieth and they who are sanctified are all of one: for which cause he is not ashamed to call them brethren,
Hebrews 2:11

Wherefore in all things it behoved him to be made like unto his brethren, that he might be a merciful and faithful high priest in things pertaining to God, to make reconciliation for the sins of the people.

For in that he himself hath suffered being tempted, he is able to succour them that are tempted.

Hebrews 2:17-18

Seeing then that we have a great high priest, that is passed into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our profession.

For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin.

Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.

Hebrews 4:14-16

So keep striving on in holiness sisters! May we grow not weary in any good thing! We will reap at the right time if we faint not. Love to you in His precious name! Hold fast!

Greetings again sisters!

Hope you're pressing on today for the Lord and His truth! Our days are numbered and our life short even if we live to an old age. So may we redeem the time, now that we know the truth, in good works that He created us for. There is nothing we can do about the time we wasted in our past nor can we pay for our sins. We trust in His forgiveness and mercy when we repented of them and turned unto Him. We are undeserving but we must continue to endure, continuing to believe in our Saviour, and repent when we need to. We strive to keep His ways now as His children having been born of His Spirit. The Lord help us to keep faithful in this faithless and perverse generation. There is so much that could lure us away in the lusts of the flesh and so much that could discourage us if we focus on them like all the bad things happening. But may we keep our eyes on the Lord and His goodness and trust our souls into His hands.

Wherefore let them that suffer according to the will of God commit the keeping of their souls to him in well doing, as unto a faithful Creator.
1 Peter 4:19

The Lord's righteousness is everlasting.

Thy righteousness is an everlasting righteousness, and thy law is the truth.
Psalm 119:142
The righteousness of thy testimonies is everlasting: give me understanding, and I shall live.
Psalm 119:144

May He guide and lead us as we seek His ways.

The meek will he guide in judgment: and the meek will he teach his way.
Psalm 25:9
For thou art my rock and my fortress; therefore for thy name's sake lead me, and guide me.
Psalm 31:3

I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go: I will guide thee with mine eye.
Psalm 32:8

For this God is our God for ever and ever: he will be our guide even unto death.
Psalm 48:14

Thou shalt guide me with thy counsel, and afterward receive me to glory.
Psalm 73:24

Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.
Proverbs 3:5-6

A man's heart deviseth his way: but the LORD directeth his steps.
Proverbs 16:9

To give light to them that sit in darkness and in the shadow of death, to guide our feet into the way of peace.
Luke 1:79

Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.
John 16:13

And the Lord direct your hearts into the love of God, and into the patient waiting for Christ.
2 Thessalonians 3:5

Nothing better than to be led by our caring Creator! He knows what's best for His creation!

I was pondering on spiritual things and so share a few scriptures that mention it.

But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him. God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth.
John 4:23-24

I like that...the Father seeks such to worship Him!

And it is spiritual battles we face today.

For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.
Ephesians 6:12

Ye also, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house, an holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ.
1 Peter 2:5

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ.
Ephesians 1:3

For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.
Romans 8:6

And I was thinking how people are looking to be able to 'see' things instead of walking by faith. But we know God sent a Saviour Jesus Christ and gave us His Word. We don't need to doubt He is love and He gave us His best in Christ. Indeed He gave Himself. As the Word says in the account of the rich man and Lazarus...

Then he said, I pray thee therefore, father, that thou wouldest send him to my father's house:

For I have five brethren; that he may testify unto them, lest they also come into this place of torment.

Abraham saith unto him, They have Moses and the prophets; let them hear them.

And he said, Nay, father Abraham: but if one went unto them from the dead, they will repent.

And he said unto him, If they hear not Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded, though one rose from the dead.

Luke 16:27-31

And we today indeed all who have access to the written word of truth have much more than 'Moses and the prophets'. Indeed we have the mystery of Christ which was kept secret from the beginning of the world revealed to us! How much the Lord has given for all who seek with their whole heart! Whosever wills may come to Him! May we hear Him!

And there came a voice out of the cloud, saying, This is my beloved Son: hear him.
Luke 9:35

Therefore we ought to give the more earnest heed to the things which we have heard, lest at any time we should let them slip.

For if the word spoken by angels was stedfast, and every transgression and disobedience received a just recompence of reward;

How shall we escape, if we neglect so great salvation; which at the first began to be spoken by the Lord, and was confirmed unto us by them that heard him;

Hebrews 2:1-3

So may we keep pressing on by faith in Him! May we do all things as unto Him and not forget the reasons why we do all we do and how we do them matters. A lot matters! So strive on in good works sisters! Love to you in His worthy and mighty name!

Greetings in the name of the Lord, sisters!

For without Him we can do nothing and are nothing and are most hopeless. But in Him we have so much hope as He is life and light and truth! Here is another day we get to be His daughters!

Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you, And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty.
2 Corinthians 6:17-18

I hope you are striving on in holiness!

Be ye therefore followers of God, as dear children; And walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweetsmelling savour.
Ephesians 5:1-2

May we sisters remember what is of great price to Him...having meek and quiet spirits! So let us go forth in our good works in such a demeanour! He sees us and He is the one who will reward all according to their works. And yes rewards aren't always a good thing in the Word. Everyone will reap what they sow...good or bad rewards.

I heard a scripture recently that mentions what was better and so I thought I'd look up more scriptures with it and read them to us to edify us in the truth of what is better according to God!

One day if we remain faithful we will be in a far better place which is not worthy to be compared to this one even. May our Lord come soon in His will and end all the evils of this world. But He is not willing that any should perish but that they might repent. So much time He is giving people to repent. His long-suffering is great. May we keep living to please Him sisters. No matter what comes in this world we just want the Lord on our side and to stay close to Him ourselves.

Forsake me not, O LORD: O my God, be not far from me.
Psalm 38:21

Cast me not off in the time of old age; forsake me not when my strength faileth.
Psalm 71:9

Now also when I am old and grayheaded, O God, forsake me not; until I have shewed thy strength unto this generation, and thy power to every one that is to come.
Psalm 71:18

I will keep thy statutes: O forsake me not utterly.
Psalm 119:8

Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee. So that we may boldly say, The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me.
Hebrews 13:5-6

I have been young, and now am old; yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed begging bread.
Psalm 37:25

So strive on one more day! Hope in Him! Mercy and love to you in His name.

Greetings in the Lord sisters!

I hope and pray you're standing strong and faithful for the Lord where He has called you! I had a busy day here but I'm sharing a few scriptures to encourage us all to keep pressing on for our Lord in these earthly tabernacles!

For which cause we faint not; but though our outward man perish, yet the inward man is renewed day by day.

For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory;

While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal.

2 Corinthians 4:16-18

And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.

Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ's sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong.

2 Corinthians 12:9-10

Hast thou not known? hast thou not heard, that the everlasting God, the LORD, the Creator of the ends of the earth, fainteth not, neither is weary? there is no searching of his understanding.

He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength.

Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall:

But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.

Isaiah 40:28-31

So also is the resurrection of the dead. It is sown in corruption; it is raised in incorruption:

It is sown in dishonour; it is raised in glory: it is sown in weakness; it is raised in power:

It is sown a natural body; it is raised a spiritual body. There is a natural body, and there is a spiritual body.

1 Corinthians 15:42-44

Thou therefore endure hardness, as a good soldier of Jesus Christ.
2 Timothy 2:3

Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses.
1 Timothy 6:12

There's so many strengthening scriptures to encourage us to keep going for our worthy Lord through the trials in this life! We have so many blessings that we simply don't deserve. To God be the glory!

Keep pressing on sisters! Our Lord is worthy to be praised! Love to you in His name.

Hello sisters in the Lord!

I'm back one more day to share some edifying in the truth!

Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth.

For I rejoiced greatly, when the brethren came and testified of the truth that is in thee, even as thou walkest in the truth.

I have no greater joy than to hear that my children walk in truth.

Beloved, thou doest faithfully whatsoever thou doest to the brethren, and to strangers;

3 John 1:2-5

It is a blessing to have His Word of truth to live by and of course we keep feeding on it to find out His truth!

Yes we are to obey the laws of the land we live in...if they don't cause us to sin.

Submit yourselves to every ordinance of man for the Lord's sake: whether it be to the king, as supreme;

Or unto governors, as unto them that are sent by him for the punishment of evildoers, and for the praise of them that do well.

For so is the will of God, that with well doing ye may put to silence the ignorance of foolish men:

As free, and not using your liberty for a cloke of maliciousness, but as the servants of God.

1 Peter 2:13-16

And when they were come, they say unto him, Master, we know that thou art true, and carest for no man: for thou regardest not the person of men, but teachest the way of God in truth: Is it lawful to give tribute to Caesar, or not?

Shall we give, or shall we not give? But he, knowing their hypocrisy, said unto them, Why tempt ye me? bring me a penny, that I may see it.

And they brought it. And he saith unto them, Whose is this image and superscription? And they said unto him, Caesar's.

And Jesus answering said unto them, Render to Caesar the things that are Caesar's, and to God the things that are God's. And they marvelled at him.

Mark 12:14-17

But we know the pride of whatever land we live in (ie being patriotic) has no place in us. God alone is to be glorified in all things and not a nation. And it is He that has us where He does to be His lights. We are seeking His kingdom above and our true citizenship is in heaven. And there's so much corruption in the world and every nation, it's nothing to be pleased about. We should be thankful to God for the blessings that come from Him. One day our Lord will be in His rightful place...

And the loftiness of man shall be bowed down, and the haughtiness of men shall be made low: and the LORD alone shall be exalted in that day.

And the idols he shall utterly abolish.

And they shall go into the holes of the rocks, and into the caves of the earth, for fear of the LORD, and for the glory of his majesty, when he ariseth to shake terribly the earth.

Isaiah 2:17-19

The famous and the rich and popular people of the earth will be brought down one day and all shall have to stand to face judgement.

And the kings of the earth, and the great men, and the rich men, and the chief captains, and the mighty men, and every bondman, and every free man, hid themselves in the dens and in the rocks of the mountains;

And said to the mountains and rocks, Fall on us, and hide us from the face of him that sitteth on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb:

For the great day of his wrath is come; and who shall be able to stand?

Revelation 6:15-17

Indeed the Lord alone will be exalted forever one day and all His saints shall glorify Him!

And I beheld, and I heard the voice of many angels round about the throne and the beasts and the elders: and the number of them was ten thousand times ten thousand, and thousands of thousands;

Saying with a loud voice, Worthy is the Lamb that was slain to receive power, and riches, and wisdom, and strength, and honour, and glory, and blessing.

And every creature which is in heaven, and on the earth, and under the earth, and such as are in the sea, and all that are in them, heard I saying, Blessing, and honour, and glory, and power, be unto him that sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb for ever and ever.

And the four beasts said, Amen. And the four and twenty elders fell down and worshipped him that liveth for ever and ever.

Revelation 5:11-14

So may we be preparing sisters, ready and watching. So precious is the truth and the Lord's ways and so weighty is the fact of eternal judgement or eternal joy with the Lord that we must be serious about it all and diligent in finding eternal life through our Lord.

I had travels back from the children's again today. So there will be different things again to keep occupied in for however long. I hope my sisters are doing well and pressing on faithfully in all your duties! There's a lot to set our mind right to do. Strive on! Love to you.

Saluting my sisters in the Lord!

Grace be to you and peace from God the Father, and from our Lord Jesus Christ,

Who gave himself for our sins, that he might deliver us from this present evil world, according to the will of God and our Father:

To whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.

Galatians 1:3-5

That's a nice scripture. And what it says about delivering us from this present evil world stood out to me. If you look up the word 'deliver', I just thought it was interesting. Indeed we are not part of this culture and world though we are living in it. And there's still His beautiful creations around us and He created us and has us labouring on this earth.

Dearly beloved, I beseech you as strangers and pilgrims, abstain from fleshly lusts, which war against the soul; Having your conversation honest among the Gentiles: that, whereas they speak against you as evildoers, they may by your good works, which they shall behold, glorify God in the day of visitation.
1 Peter 2:11-12

Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.
 James 4:7

I was pondering that and how we resist the adversary. We can think of Eve and how she was tempted by him. It was by questioning God's commands, doubting He meant what He said, listening to lies, and lusting for more.

Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth he any man:

But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed.

Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death.

Do not err, my beloved brethren.

James 1:13-16

We can think of Jesus and how He handled the temptation by resisting with the Word as many times we may be faced with the Word being given to us out of context or not considering all the scriptures.

And Jesus being full of the Holy Ghost returned from Jordan, and was led by the Spirit into the wilderness,

Being forty days tempted of the devil. And in those days he did eat nothing: and when they were ended, he afterward hungered.

And the devil said unto him, If thou be the Son of God, command this stone that it be made bread.

And Jesus answered him, saying, It is written, That man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of God.

And the devil, taking him up into an high mountain, shewed unto him all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time.

And the devil said unto him, All this power will I give thee, and the glory of them: for that is delivered unto me; and to whomsoever I will I give it.

If thou therefore wilt worship me, all shall be thine.

And Jesus answered and said unto him, Get thee behind me, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.

And he brought him to Jerusalem, and set him on a pinnacle of the temple, and said unto him, If thou be the Son of God, cast thyself down from hence:

For it is written, He shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee:

And in their hands they shall bear thee up, lest at any time thou dash thy foot against a stone.

And Jesus answering said unto him, It is said, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God.

And when the devil had ended all the temptation, he departed from him for a season.

Luke 4:1-13

You could think how Eve could have instead stood firmly on the Lord's word. Not to think we are any better and wouldn't have also fallen and indeed we all have being daughters of Eve but now in Christ Jesus we know better and have His help if we seek it as we surely want to!

And it also reminds me of the whole chapter of 1 Kings 13 and the disobedient prophet. It's worth a read to remind us to cleave so fast to the Word and not listen to man or the temptation of the adversary... even if they claim to be from God.

Yes let us take diligent heed...

Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:

Whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world.

1 Peter 5:8-9

So keep fighting the good fight of faith my sisters! I hope you are doing well wherever you are on this huge earth God made and placed us on wherever He has you. Love to you in His name.

Today's Edification (21 January 2025)

Hello sisters!

I'm here again to share some edifying! I hope that you are strong in the Lord and the power of His might!

Then they that feared the LORD spake often one to another: and the LORD hearkened, and heard it, and a book of remembrance was written before him for them that feared the LORD, and that thought upon his name.

And they shall be mine, saith the LORD of hosts, in that day when I make up my jewels; and I will spare them, as a man spareth his own son that serveth him.

Then shall ye return, and discern between the righteous and the wicked, between him that serveth God and him that serveth him not.

Malachi 3:16-18

It is a blessing to be able to share about the Lord and His ways here with my sisters who love and obey Him!

I had safe travels to help at the children's again and so I will be helping catch up on things for a few days. I'm sure my sisters are keeping occupied in useful things that are necessary and not vain and idle. The Lord set us free from those! Glory to His name.

For yourselves know how ye ought to follow us: for we behaved not ourselves disorderly among you;

Neither did we eat any man's bread for nought; but wrought with labour and travail night and day, that we might not be chargeable to any of you:

Not because we have not power, but to make ourselves an ensample unto you to follow us.

For even when we were with you, this we commanded you, that if any would not work, neither should he eat.

For we hear that there are some which walk among you disorderly, working not at all, but are busybodies.

Now them that are such we command and exhort by our Lord Jesus Christ, that with quietness they work, and eat their own bread.

But ye, brethren, be not weary in well doing.

2 Thessalonians 3:7-13

She girdeth her loins with strength, and strengtheneth her arms.

Strength and honour are her clothing; and she shall rejoice in time to come.

She openeth her mouth with wisdom; and in her tongue is the law of kindness.

She looketh well to the ways of her household, and eateth not the bread of idleness.

Proverbs 31:17,25-27

So keep pressing on in the works the Lord has for you to labour in sisters! May we trust in the Lord to sustain us as indeed He is our portion!

My flesh and my heart faileth: but God is the strength of my heart, and my portion for ever.
Psalm 73:26

Thou art my portion, O LORD: I have said that I would keep thy words.
Psalm 119:57

I cried unto thee, O LORD: I said, Thou art my refuge and my portion in the land of the living.
Psalm 142:5

May we hold fast to Him. Be of good courage my sisters who are walking in the truth and light! Love to you.
