Saluting my sisters in the Lord!
This day is another one to live for His glory! I hope you're pressing on where you are! God sees all His children and that is a comfort and we keep pressing on after Him by faith. We surely are absent from Him. But one day we will see Him face to face if we endure! That will be precious but let us while we are absent strive to walk worthy of Him.
Therefore we are always confident, knowing that, whilst we are at home in the body, we are absent from the Lord:
(For we walk by faith, not by sight:)
We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord.
Wherefore we labour, that, whether present or absent, we may be accepted of him.
2 Corinthians 5:6-9
Awhile back a sister shared this scripture...
Wherefore I put thee in remembrance that thou stir up the gift of God, which is in thee by the putting on of my hands.
For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.
Be not thou therefore ashamed of the testimony of our Lord, nor of me his prisoner: but be thou partaker of the afflictions of the gospel according to the power of God;
2 Timothy 1:6-8
And it's good to think deeper about what it is saying and how Paul is admonishing young Timothy to stir up the gift of God in him...as God hasn't given us the spirit of fear. There is much in this world we could fear and also we know Paul told him not to let anyone despise his youth. And yeah some even stretch that scripture to say we shouldn't fear God but I'm thankful that I got a deeper understanding of the context to understand it better! We know God is the one giving His children different gifts and so we each only need to be concerned about the ones we do have and not try to work in ones others have as that will never work!
These things command and teach.
Let no man despise thy youth; but be thou an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity.
Till I come, give attendance to reading, to exhortation, to doctrine.
Neglect not the gift that is in thee, which was given thee by prophecy, with the laying on of the hands of the presbytery.
Meditate upon these things; give thyself wholly to them; that thy profiting may appear to all.
1 Timothy 4:11-15
That's encouraging to ponder on too!
It does remind me though how a woman was telling me awhile ago how God gave people different talents and so it proves there's a God, for example worldly musicians and sports players etc. But clearly He is not the one helping people to sin. He made humans amazing to be able to do a huge variety of things and of course this means man is capable of sinning but these talents are clearly not blessed by God. Man can make idols with his hands too and God is not giving him that talent to do so directly obviously. And many people get skilled at doing bad things so just because people can do something well doesn't mean it's good and from God! But let us sisters use our abilities as humans and the gifts He has given for good!
And that ye study to be quiet, and to do your own business, and to work with your own hands, as we commanded you.1 Thessalonians 4:11
Let him that stole steal no more: but rather let him labour, working with his hands the thing which is good, that he may have to give to him that needeth.Ephesians 4:28
And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men;Colossians 3:23
Peaceful end to my day. His creations doing what He ordained for them from the beginning.
Well that is all from me for today. I'm keeping occupied here and thankful to be able to be sewing as well! Just a lot of general woman's works.
Keep pressing forwards my sisters! We are not ignorant of the deceptions and adversary and so we must keep on guard.
Love to you all in the faith. Be of good courage and continue to endure as good soldiers!
