Today's Edification (18 September 2024)

Hello sisters!

I'm back again. The days keep coming and going by steadily. Time goes on in one direction and there's no getting back a single second. So it's important we strive to do our best isn't it and redeem the time for good for the Lord. Nothing we can do about time we wasted in our past but we can make sure we don't waste any now that we know better!

Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God;
Romans 3:25

For as ye in times past have not believed God, yet have now obtained mercy through their unbelief:
Romans 11:30

Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience:

Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others.

But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us,

Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;)

And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus:

Ephesians 2:2-6

Which in time past were not a people, but are now the people of God: which had not obtained mercy, but now have obtained mercy.
1 Peter 2:10

Praise the Lord for His mercy and goodness and that He has allowed us to know this precious truth! I'm thankful for the great hope in Him! We don't deserve it but He is plenteous in mercy and redemption!

Let Israel hope in the LORD: for with the LORD there is mercy, and with him is plenteous redemption.
Psalm 130:7
For thou, Lord, art good, and ready to forgive; and plenteous in mercy unto all them that call upon thee.
Psalm 86:5

I've had a busy long day and thankful for safe travels to the children's. So that will be my works for however long it is this time!

I got to listen to scripture on my travels and the book of Deuteronomy has a lot of good meat in it and a lot of edifying.

And now, Israel, what doth the LORD thy God require of thee, but to fear the LORD thy God, to walk in all his ways, and to love him, and to serve the LORD thy God with all thy heart and with all thy soul, To keep the commandments of the LORD, and his statutes, which I command thee this day for thy good?
Deuteronomy 10:12-13

That scripture sums up what we do doesn't it, fear Him, love Him, keep His ways and walk in them! Still the same in the New Testament isn't it while we believe in our Saviour who has now been revealed!

That was something that was also standing out to me that God gave commandments for their good and that it may go well with them. That also shows He cares about them/us doesn't it.

And thou shalt do that which is right and good in the sight of the LORD: that it may be well with thee, and that thou mayest go in and possess the good land which the LORD sware unto thy fathers,
Deuteronomy 6:18
Observe and hear all these words which I command thee, that it may go well with thee, and with thy children after thee for ever, when thou doest that which is good and right in the sight of the LORD thy God.
Deuteronomy 12:28

Most people resent God's commands and think they are controlling. But they are for our own good. (and we sure don't want to be under His just wrath). His commandments are not grievous.

For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous.
1 John 5:3

Well I better go sisters and get some rest after my day and for another one coming if the Lord wills. I hope your day is a good one, and keep pressing on sisters!

Fervent love in Christ,

Sister Chayil
