Today's Edification (3 July 2024)

Greetings my sisters around the world who love all the truth!

They are not of the world, even as I am not of the world. Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.
John 17:16-17

His pure Word is truth. Jesus is the truth. Let us seek truth in the right places and not look to man or human wisdom for it. Most everyone claims to have the truth...but we know there is only one truth!

There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling;

One Lord, one faith, one baptism,

One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all.

Ephesians 4:4-6

The Spirit leads us to the truth in the Word and reveals it to those who seek and obey. May we be faithful with the precious truth we have and keep growing in knowledge of it and loving it more!

Yea, if thou criest after knowledge, and liftest up thy voice for understanding;

If thou seekest her as silver, and searchest for her as for hid treasures;

Then shalt thou understand the fear of the LORD, and find the knowledge of God.

For the LORD giveth wisdom: out of his mouth cometh knowledge and understanding.

He layeth up sound wisdom for the righteous: he is a buckler to them that walk uprightly.

He keepeth the paths of judgment, and preserveth the way of his saints.

Then shalt thou understand righteousness, and judgment, and equity; yea, every good path.

When wisdom entereth into thine heart, and knowledge is pleasant unto thy soul;

Proverbs 2:3-10

The days keep going by don't they sisters! We know they are numbered though and God knows our beginning and our end. We are in His hands. He is the giver...and the taker of life. We are to fear Him alone. It is to Him we will have to give account of our days. Praise God that there is forgiveness in Him though!

If thou, LORD, shouldest mark iniquities, O Lord, who shall stand? But there is forgiveness with thee, that thou mayest be feared.
Psalm 130:3-4

If He didn't forgive...we would be most hopeless! Praise God! Therefore we have hope and let us keep seeking to please Him! This is such a precious gift!

I hope all your godly woman's works are going well...whatever they are as there can be quite a large variety! We have many duties and responsibilities and we want to see them as important and pleasing to Him. I'm keeping quite busy here in Titus 2 helping duties and such. And then God gives rest at the end of a day...for another day of good works if He gives it us. If the Lord wills we will live and do...this...or...that. May all we do be redeeming of our time and good pure and true works and praises to God for setting us free from all the snares and distractions and bondage of the world and sin we were once in. Of course we still need to fight it all off in varying degrees and be disciplined against distractions, as it seems this world is designed to tempt and allure and distract in every variety of ways...but let us have our mind made up and single for the Lord and guarding against so called innocent things that are distractions and such like.

For the Lord GOD will help me; therefore shall I not be confounded: therefore have I set my face like a flint, and I know that I shall not be ashamed.
Isaiah 50:7

Let thine eyes look right on, and let thine eyelids look straight before thee.

Ponder the path of thy feet, and let all thy ways be established.

Turn not to the right hand nor to the left: remove thy foot from evil.

Proverbs 4:25-27

Let us also be like the five wise virgins. While they were sleeping while the Bridegroom came...they were ready in advance. May we also be ready while we are occupying in our duties down here.

And now, little children, abide in him; that, when he shall appear, we may have confidence, and not be ashamed before him at his coming.
1 John 2:28
And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh.
Luke 21:28

Thy kingdom come, Lord.

And the seventh angel sounded; and there were great voices in heaven, saying, The kingdoms of this world are become the kingdoms of our Lord, and of his Christ; and he shall reign for ever and ever.
Revelation 11:15
And I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of his Christ: for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night.
Revelation 12:10

Press on in the faith my sisters! Keep being obedient to the Lord in a disobedient generation we live in. Keep shining as lights wherever you are!

Grace, mercy, and peace in Christ,

Sister Chayil

Today's Edification (2 July 2024)

Greetings sisters!

Another day to serve the Lord with joy and press onwards! He gave us breath and a heartbeat today...so let us glorify our Creator by works that are good and pleasing to Him!

Furthermore then we beseech you, brethren, and exhort you by the Lord Jesus, that as ye have received of us how ye ought to walk and to please God, so ye would abound more and more. For ye know what commandments we gave you by the Lord Jesus.
1 Thessalonians 4:1-2

Let us be faithful to our faithful Lord!

To the saints and faithful brethren in Christ which are at Colosse: Grace be unto you, and peace, from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
Colossians 1:2
O LORD, thou art my God; I will exalt thee, I will praise thy name; for thou hast done wonderful things; thy counsels of old are faithfulness and truth.
Isaiah 25:1
God is faithful, by whom ye were called unto the fellowship of his Son Jesus Christ our Lord.
1 Corinthians 1:9
He that is faithful in that which is least is faithful also in much: and he that is unjust in the least is unjust also in much.
Luke 16:10

Let us keep living a consistent life which is a good thing if it is in all the truth! We want to be firm and unwavering in the truth but yet not too firm in anything that we won't change it or thoroughly test and be willing to change to be more biblical. We are not the truth...God and His Word are so let us be conforming our lives to it for His glory. Not twisting it to make it suit what we want but letting it be what it is and us changing to it...not the other way around. May we be...

To the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved.
Ephesians 1:6

Jesus saith unto him, Thomas, because thou hast seen me, thou hast believed: blessed are they that have not seen, and yet have believed.
John 20:29

We sure have not seen...yet we believe so much that we obey Him as if we do see Him. We trust His Word and all that was written that we might believe!

And many other signs truly did Jesus in the presence of his disciples, which are not written in this book:

But these are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing ye might have life through his name.

John 20:30-31

I'm so thankful for His written Word and that we have it so readily available. Surely we will be without excuse.

Our God is so great and so longsuffering able to see this world groaning under the curse of sin. The darkness is great in this earth and it's end and eternity is approaching. Just as in the days of Noah...people are just going about their lives as if nothing will happen. The earth is again so corrupt and filled with a lot of violence. No new thing under the sun is there. But the Lord's day will come. He will not tarry.

Cast not away therefore your confidence, which hath great recompence of reward.

For ye have need of patience, that, after ye have done the will of God, ye might receive the promise.

For yet a little while, and he that shall come will come, and will not tarry.

Hebrews 10:35-37

Let us be ready and watching...patiently. May we be found faithful servants, occupying in our Master's commands.

I was thinking about so called Christian music (recorded or live). It's sad because it's lip service and lies often as we know they're not living godly holy set apart lives from the world. So empty and vain. And indeed such people's righteousness/good deeds of singing songs are filthy rags to God. (But, true saints righteousness is pleasing to God as that's an often misused scripture so just making that clear. You can study that scripture yourself.) We know the Word says a lot about lips.

He answered and said unto them, Well hath Esaias prophesied of you hypocrites, as it is written, This people honoureth me with their lips, but their heart is far from me. Howbeit in vain do they worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.
Mark 7:6-7

Also, thou son of man, the children of thy people still are talking against thee by the walls and in the doors of the houses, and speak one to another, every one to his brother, saying, Come, I pray you, and hear what is the word that cometh forth from the LORD.

And they come unto thee as the people cometh, and they sit before thee as my people, and they hear thy words, but they will not do them: for with their mouth they shew much love, but their heart goeth after their covetousness.

Ezekiel 33:30-31

All therefore whatsoever they bid you observe, that observe and do; but do not ye after their works: for they say, and do not.
Matthew 23:3

They speak vanity every one with his neighbour: with flattering lips and with a double heart do they speak.

The LORD shall cut off all flattering lips, and the tongue that speaketh proud things:

Who have said, With our tongue will we prevail; our lips are our own: who is lord over us?

Psalm 12:2-4

May we mean what we say and have pure hearts and lips.

But let your communication be, Yea, yea; Nay, nay: for whatsoever is more than these cometh of evil.
Matthew 5:37

Keep pressing towards the mark, sisters, my fellow soldiers and fellow labourers in good works!

I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.
Philippians 3:14

Today's Edification (1 July 2024)

Greetings sisters!

I'm coming to you with love in His Name! I hope you're pressing on stedfastly after Him in truth and righteousness!

This is quite an awesome scripture...

Finally, be ye all of one mind, having compassion one of another, love as brethren, be pitiful, be courteous:
1 Peter 3:8

So I wanted to share the meanings for us to ponder on here.

'of one mind'...

'having compassion one of another' (Yeah big English phrase for one Greek word as all these phrases are.)

'love as brethren'...

'be pitiful'...

'be courteous'....

That's quite an amazing verse with things for us to make sure we're obeying especially if we have obedient fellow believers in our lives whether that's in person or online. I want to be all that to my godly sisters! And I'm sure I have grown in that and have more to go but as we know...

But as touching brotherly love ye need not that I write unto you: for ye yourselves are taught of God to love one another.
1 Thessalonians 4:9

We love God first, then saints, and then everyone else including enemies!

I was also pondering about our words and how we will be judged by them. That's quite serious isn't it. Like really. Think about that. Do we fear God in all our words, spoken or written?

For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned.
Matthew 12:37

I was thinking about my blog. I don't know of anything unbiblical on it but since I have had it for several years and no doubt grown a lot in the Lord it makes me want to go back and check over everything I ever wrote! Or for every new post I do, one old one would drop off or something, but the Lord knows I'm trying my best to be biblical. It's also on any readers to be testing all things I write to the scriptures and I trust you are. (And by the way, I am working on removing old links to others' websites from off my blog. I am not responsible for what others do but I am fully for myself so I want to keep everything under my control.) I don't want to be flippant about what Jesus said about being judged by my words. I want them all to be pure and truthful and good. If I know of anything that isn't I would fix it but as we all know we're still growing and He keeps revealing more to us as we go! He knows our hearts. But He still uses us humans doesn't He! May we do our best with His help to bring Him glory in all things. His ways are good!

I was reading this chapter and as is always good to do ponder and meditate on and examine ourselves.

But woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye shut up the kingdom of heaven against men: for ye neither go in yourselves, neither suffer ye them that are entering to go in.

Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye devour widows' houses, and for a pretence make long prayer: therefore ye shall receive the greater damnation.

Matthew 23:13-14

I was pondering on greater damnation. There is much to learn from the people in the Word and the Pharisees are one of them of what not to be like. Sure they thought they were very zealous for God...but they were sorely wrong in much and largely hypocrites.

Even so ye also outwardly appear righteous unto men, but within ye are full of hypocrisy and iniquity.
Matthew 23:28

Let us humbly search our hearts. We know what we do comes from our heart. And although we get a renewed heart by the Spirit we are still human and have the fleshly nature to battle and subdue. Let us not think we are beyond anything lest we fall...but keep pressing on knowing we need Him to be able to stand every day.

Once we Gentiles were without God and hope in this world. If that thought doesn't fill you with thankfulness for the great blessed hope we have now...I don't know what will! Glory to God and He is so good and merciful and I'm so thankful!

That at that time ye were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope, and without God in the world: But now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ.
Ephesians 2:12-13

That is thrilling good news indeed! Indeed the death and precious blood of our Saviour and His resurrection is our hope.

When they heard these things, they held their peace, and glorified God, saying, Then hath God also to the Gentiles granted repentance unto life.
Acts 11:18

Amen He has indeed! He commands all men everywhere to repent!

And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth all men every where to repent:
Acts 17:30

His goodness leads us to repentance!

If so be ye have tasted that the Lord is gracious.
1 Peter 2:3

Amen I have and He is!

I have a little catching up to do here from the last few days.

Was doing a headcovering inventory after sewing quite a few more and I'm thankful to have a good lot for now in my store!

I'm still working with one of my customers who bought headcoverings and with the postal company here, as they say the package was stolen. Such is this world with thieves...the only hope is they got the gospel card but maybe they can't even read it though as it's in a foreign country.

Cute little baby creation...

Leek blessings...

I would serve you a bowl of stew on a winter's night if I could...
Soups and stews are good as you can basically use anything you have! Amazing all the variety of food the Lord made!

I had travel again to the children's today. So will have some different duties for awhile. Listening to scripture is a worthwhile use of a lot of the three hour driving time too. And it's a blessing and we need to live by it not just physical bread and you can't get too much like you can of physical food!

I was pondering this scripture I heard...
For ye remember, brethren, our labour and travail: for labouring night and day, because we would not be chargeable unto any of you, we preached unto you the gospel of God.
1 Thessalonians 2:9

And how we know Paul also worked hard at a physical job to earn his keep and to not burden anyone else. That's encouraging to us also as we must too labour in many physical things while sojourning here.
Neither did we eat any man's bread for nought; but wrought with labour and travail night and day, that we might not be chargeable to any of you:

Not because we have not power, but to make ourselves an ensample unto you to follow us.

For even when we were with you, this we commanded you, that if any would not work, neither should he eat.

2 Thessalonians 3:8-10
That's a good example for us! Some may say and teach something but not even live it themselves but someone who does it themselves and teaches it can be a powerful example to us. Or as they say 'practice what you preach'. Yeah the Word would call that don't be hypocritical. Glad for Paul's example to imitate.
I have coveted no man's silver, or gold, or apparel.

Yea, ye yourselves know, that these hands have ministered unto my necessities, and to them that were with me.

I have shewed you all things, how that so labouring ye ought to support the weak, and to remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he said, It is more blessed to give than to receive.

Acts 20:33-35
Work is pleasing to the Lord! Now we don't mean we're striving to be rich for the sake of it but just talking about honest physical labour for frugal simple living is good! And even if we serve others we're still labouring to earn our food and whatever other blessings are provided. And keepers of the home are also doing very necessary works! Keep going in whatever good works you have sisters! Laziness is not something God approves of.

While it is wise to keep an eye on that which is behind you while driving, we would not want to be looking there too much!

We are supposed to be driving forward. And while in the faith life those of us who have counted the cost do look back to glorify God to see where He has brought us and rejoice and of course there's going to be our whole life of memories (good and bad) back there but we press forwards with a face of flint don't we sisters! We press into the kingdom! Our Saviour and eternal life is ahead! What better things could there be! Nothing. Press on with strength and zeal sisters!

And Jesus said unto him, No man, having put his hand to the plough, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God.
Luke 9:62

This we sure do not want to do...

From that time many of his disciples went back, and walked no more with him.

Then said Jesus unto the twelve, Will ye also go away?

Then Simon Peter answered him, Lord, to whom shall we go? thou hast the words of eternal life.

And we believe and are sure that thou art that Christ, the Son of the living God.

John 6:66-69

Praise God we know where all truth and goodness is and that is in our great God! Let us keep striving towards the bright light that is our God and walking in the light He gave us!

O house of Jacob, come ye, and let us walk in the light of the LORD.
Isaiah 2:5

Big crate of potatoes was next to me on the ferry...

Always a blessing to think of God growing food for mankind from the soil! He is good to all (and long suffering as His wrath does abide on all who believe not still).
Nevertheless he left not himself without witness, in that he did good, and gave us rain from heaven, and fruitful seasons, filling our hearts with food and gladness.
Acts 14:17

Well I think that's all from me today. Hold fast my sisters and keep being salt and light and let's not grow weary in well doing as we will reap if we don't faint! The joy of the Lord is our strength!

Love in Christ,

Sister Chayil
