Today's Edification (16 January 2024)

Greetings godly sisters!

Glory to God for another day! Hope you are pressing on forward with your hand to the plough!

And Jesus said unto him, No man, having put his hand to the plough, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God.

Luke 9:62

Let thine eyes look right on, and let thine eyelids look straight before thee.

Ponder the path of thy feet, and let all thy ways be established.

Turn not to the right hand nor to the left: remove thy foot from evil.

Proverbs 4:25-27

Morning sunlight on a rose....

How beautiful. Glory to God!

And beautiful ripening summer fruit blessings...

And God said, Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb yielding seed, and the fruit tree yielding fruit after his kind, whose seed is in itself, upon the earth: and it was so.

And the earth brought forth grass, and herb yielding seed after his kind, and the tree yielding fruit, whose seed was in itself, after his kind: and God saw that it was good.

Genesis 1:11-12

Good things in this dark and sometimes confusing world. But praise God for His truth and that we can know the way and that there is a better life to come if we endure!

Getting to work on sewing two shirts for my store...

It's always a blessing to have work to keep your hands busy in.

Here are some scriptures about what God's Word is...

For ever, O LORD, thy word is settled in heaven.

Psalm 119:89

Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.

Psalm 119:105

Thy word is very pure: therefore thy servant loveth it.

Psalm 119:140

Thy word is true from the beginning: and every one of thy righteous judgments endureth for ever.

Psalm 119:160

Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.

John 17:17

Next Luke reading here...

His Word is always good and packed full of much to ponder or make sure we have in practice in our lives.

The aged women likewise, that they be in behaviour as becometh holiness, not false accusers, not given to much wine, teachers of good things;
Titus 2:3

Titus 2 woman character trait of the day - not false accusers! Sometimes when we think of Titus 2, we think of keepers at home for the most part (at least I do), or wives or mother's duties. But let us remember all the rest, sisters! We're blessed to have specific instructions for us women.

We want to be careful to be sure of what we say about others in order to not falsely accuse. We want to be completely sure it is correct rather than hearsay or something we are unsure of. This is wisdom rather than foolishness. We know there may be a time for calling out of sin between sisters. So we need to make a right accusation not a false one. Sometimes we need to wait before we speak if there is a pattern of a fault coming up rather than jumping in right away in case it was a random mistake of someone's (depending on the severity of course). Or we can just ask and a sister shouldn't get mad about it, or she will kill her flesh at least as we want God's glory and to be walking blameless. I'm thankful for sisters who do that for me if necessary. This life is not about us but about Him and His glory and our witness being pure for Him. May we do any 'accusing' (rightly not falsely) in the spirit of meekness.

God is good to give us this example of what could happen to any believer who sins willfully...

Then Peter said unto her, How is it that ye have agreed together to tempt the Spirit of the Lord? behold, the feet of them which have buried thy husband are at the door, and shall carry thee out.

Then fell she down straightway at his feet, and yielded up the ghost: and the young men came in, and found her dead, and, carrying her forth, buried her by her husband.

And great fear came upon all the church, and upon as many as heard these things.

Acts 5:9-11

Let us also fear and flee sin, even one lie!

Give us help from trouble: for vain is the help of man.

Psalm 60:11

Yeah in the end it is only God who can help us. Man cannot see or understand all things and can seriously let us down at times but God doesn't! That is our hope and comfort.

Behold, God is mine helper: the Lord is with them that uphold my soul.

Psalm 54:4

Pondering how God is a God of justice and judgement and how we are to be too...

Learn to do well; seek judgment, relieve the oppressed, judge the fatherless, plead for the widow.

Isaiah 1:17

Justice and judgment are the habitation of thy throne: mercy and truth shall go before thy face. Blessed is the people that know the joyful sound: they shall walk, O LORD, in the light of thy countenance.

Psalm 89:14-15

Let us also walk in His light...

But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.

John 3:21

When we are in the light we have nothing to fear! Especially as we know we are to fear God and He knows the truth even if man doesn't so if our heart condemns us not we can be confident before Him!

He that covereth his sins shall not prosper: but whoso confesseth and forsaketh them shall have mercy. Happy is the man that feareth alway: but he that hardeneth his heart shall fall into mischief.

Proverbs 28:13-14

I was thinking about online communication and how it sure has it's limitations (and benefits!). We may write something and know exactly what we mean and someone may take it another way, misjudging, and so come to mistrust you for believing what they think you wrote. But so it is and let us sisters live at peace and forgive and communicate any misunderstandings for His glory! We don't want to be carnal Christians who had envy and strife and divisions amongst themselves in Corinth.

And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not. As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith.

Galatians 6:9-10

(Obviously we are to test all things to the Word...so test all things I ever wrote here sisters! And let me know if you see anything of error or that could be easily misunderstood.)

And I read some more scriptures about our great God so we can focus on Him and not our circumstances!

Obviously, if the Lord has given us sisters in our lives to look after we will need to be faithful in that the best we can and go through all things, easy or hard. If we didn't love, we'd just run off when things got hard and live for ourselves...but that would not glorify the Lord who purchased us all with His precious blood! Brother Paul endured much for the saints also!

Therefore I endure all things for the elect's sakes, that they may also obtain the salvation which is in Christ Jesus with eternal glory.

2 Timothy 2:10

Let us pray for one another and that the Lord would be glorified in us!

Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;

Ephesians 6:18

Strive on sister soldiers! Worthy is the Lamb!

Love in Christ,
