Greetings sisters!
How did your day go in the Lord and with all your duties as a godly woman? Or maybe you are just starting the day so I hope this can encourage you to have the right focus and do unto the Lord all you need to do today.
I just read this passage this morning...
"If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God.
Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.
For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God.
When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory."
Colossians 3:1-4
It is a great one to start the day with (well I'm sure there's many). It is always good to be reminded of these things as we sometimes need our thinking to be 'reset' and properly focused on the things above, the eternal things, rather than all the many things on this earth we are involved with and have to do and are supposed to do.
Of course we have already seperated ourselves from all the evil aspects of the world in our own lives but of course we still live on this earth and have to deal with sometimes seeing and hearing evil and of course all the duties and things we have to do to live down here. Our affections aren't to be in all we do here but above where Christ is. May what we have been called to do as godly women be done to the glory of God.
"And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him."
Colossians 3:17
And later a sister was sharing some verses on everlasting with me.
"And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh."
Luke 21:28
And these....
"But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope.
For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him.
For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep.
For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:
Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.
Wherefore comfort one another with these words."
1 Thessalonians 4:13-18
"I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help. My help cometh from the Lord, which made heaven and earth."
Psalm 121:1-2
"Unto thee lift I up mine eyes, O thou that dwellest in the heavens. Behold, as the eyes of servants look unto the hand of their masters, and as the eyes of a maiden unto the hand of her mistress; so our eyes wait upon the Lord our God, until that he have mercy upon us."
Psalm 123:1-2
So sisters let us all as we go about our duties do all things unto the Lord, focusing on the eternal, preparing for our Lord's return, trusting in Him with a childlike faith, being content, shining our lights and being ready to give an answer. There are so many things for us women to do and be in the Lord. May we humbly and gratefully serve Him who has done so much to set us free from bondage!
Amen let us do so sisters!
Lord willing I shall be back tomorrow.
Love, peace, and joy in the Lord,
...from a daughter of God
