Today's Edification (4 October 2024)

Hello sister saints!

God granted us this day! It's another opportunity to live for Him and indeed we are to do all things in His name and for His glory!

And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him.
Colossians 3:17

Another day to send some love to my sisters around the world too! The things of God are not a once a week thing but daily and every moment so it's good to come back here every day...if the Lord wills!

A sister shared some of a psalm and there's always so much in them but this one stood out for now.

Thou shalt hide them in the secret of thy presence from the pride of man: thou shalt keep them secretly in a pavilion from the strife of tongues.
Psalm 31:20

I was pondering that phrase...'the strife of tongues'. We know the human tongue can cause great trouble. We may think physical violence is the worst but words which cannot be seen (except if they are written) can be destructive and in other ways sinful. Just one area of our lives too that we bring in line to the truth.

If any man among you seem to be religious, and bridleth not his tongue, but deceiveth his own heart, this man's religion is vain.
James 1:26

But the tongue can no man tame; it is an unruly evil, full of deadly poison.

Therewith bless we God, even the Father; and therewith curse we men, which are made after the similitude of God.

Out of the same mouth proceedeth blessing and cursing. My brethren, these things ought not so to be.

James 3:8-10

Just a reminder for us to be very careful ourselves and to know the Word speaks a lot about it and is the truth and we may see or experience those who do not bridle the tongue, including in the idle and foolish chatter and jesting of the world. But God hears and sees every word and all will be judged by them too.

But I say unto you, That every idle word that men shall speak, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment. For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned.
Matthew 12:36-37

It is also not uncommon to hear our precious Saviour's name among the curses of the world but let us also not take His name in vain by our life and conduct. It is a big responsibility to be His witnesses and bear His name so let us not do so in vain.

Thou shalt not take the name of the LORD thy God in vain; for the LORD will not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain.
Exodus 20:7

Many indeed take the name of Christ as 'Christians' but it is in vain as they live in a world of deception and falsehood.

Neither shall ye profane my holy name; but I will be hallowed among the children of Israel: I am the LORD which hallow you,
Leviticus 22:32

Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his. And, Let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity.
2 Timothy 2:19
That the name of our Lord Jesus Christ may be glorified in you, and ye in him, according to the grace of our God and the Lord Jesus Christ.
2 Thessalonians 1:12

Here are some scriptures about good words which we want to have!

Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O LORD, my strength, and my redeemer.
Psalm 19:14

A soft answer turneth away wrath: but grievous words stir up anger.

A man hath joy by the answer of his mouth: and a word spoken in due season, how good is it!

The thoughts of the wicked are an abomination to the LORD: but the words of the pure are pleasant words.

Proverbs 15:1, 23, 26

Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers.

Ephesians 4:29

Whoso keepeth his mouth and his tongue keepeth his soul from troubles.
Proverbs 21:23

She openeth her mouth with wisdom; and in her tongue is the law of kindness.
Proverbs 31:26

Let us adorn the doctrine of God and not bring reproach upon His holy name. It is a huge study to look up scriptures related to 'mouth', 'words', 'tongue' etc as there's so many but what a blessing to know what is good and what is bad also! Strive onwards sister soldiers...in all good things!

Grace to you in Christ,

Sister Chayil

Today's Edification (3 October 2024)

Greetings again sisters!

I hope you are striving on after the Lord! There's no doubt from scripture that it's not a life you just sit back and relax in. There is seeking, fighting, overcoming, enduring, running, walking, striving, diligence and so much more and scriptures on all of those which would be good to look up to encourage us in the truth sometime! It is not 'just believe'. Well believe means a lot in truth doesn't it and it isn't just some head knowledge is it. It produces actions consistent to the One you believe in, indeed obedience to the only true and living God!

But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead?

Was not Abraham our father justified by works, when he had offered Isaac his son upon the altar?

Seest thou how faith wrought with his works, and by works was faith made perfect?

And the scripture was fulfilled which saith, Abraham believed God, and it was imputed unto him for righteousness: and he was called the Friend of God.

Ye see then how that by works a man is justified, and not by faith only.

Likewise also was not Rahab the harlot justified by works, when she had received the messengers, and had sent them out another way?

For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.

James 2:20-26

Let us press on letting our true faith lead us to much action for His glory!

I don't think we can ever have had enough of these precious words of our Saviour. It's encouraging knowing who the Lord calls blessed and it's not what man would say at all for the most part.

Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted.

Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth.

Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled.

Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy.

Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God.

Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God.

Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness' sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake.

Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you.

Matthew 5:3-12

That is all very encouraging and comforting! Let us keep pressing on in all His good ways!

A lot of pretty spring flowers around the place here. Just a small glimpse of the creativity of our great Creator!

God is good isn't He sisters. So let us strive to walk worthy of Him, to be acceptable and pleasing to Him.

Keep pressing on my sisters!

Peace be to the brethren, and love with faith, from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. Grace be with all them that love our Lord Jesus Christ in sincerity. Amen.
Ephesians 6:23-24

Love in Christ,

Today's Edification (2 October 2024)

Hello again sisters!

I hope you're striving on and remaining true and faithful to our Lord. There's just nothing else that can compare to knowing the Lord and getting to serve Him. Let us remember how truly blessed we are! He is so worth living for! And nothing in this life is worth much compared to Him. But we can be thankful in all the blessings and acknowledge they are from Him!

Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.

Of his own will begat he us with the word of truth, that we should be a kind of firstfruits of his creatures.

James 1:17-18

It's good to live a simple life in Christ isn't it. We just don't want to be choked by anything here do we. We are to be content with food and raiment and how much more do we really have! But no doubt they are blessings from the Lord that are helpful and useful and we just have to be content if we don't have them of course! If we don't have food and clothing well that's a problem but even then Jesus taught us not to worry! So let us keep trusting in Him day by day and being really thankful!

Nevertheless I have somewhat against thee, because thou hast left thy first love. Remember therefore from whence thou art fallen, and repent, and do the first works; or else I will come unto thee quickly, and will remove thy candlestick out of his place, except thou repent.
Revelation 2:4-5

Let us keep our first love and zeal and strong striving for the Lord through all things including time. We want to be faithful to the end and then we shall be saved! Our salvation is to come and the completion of the purchasing of our possession as we only have the down-payment of the Spirit now!

In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise,

Which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of his glory.

Ephesians 1:13-14

And that, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep: for now is our salvation nearer than when we believed.

The night is far spent, the day is at hand: let us therefore cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armour of light.

Romans 13:11-12

Let us keep being zealous for good works...

Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ; Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works.
Titus 2:13-14

And one day we shall receive the crown of life that never fades, having endured to the end! Let us aim to be perfect and striving to be sincere and without offense and growing in the knowledge of God. Hold fast sisters!

Much love to you all,

Sister Chayil

Today's Edification (1 October 2024)

Greetings sister saints!

A new day and a new month is here...and time keeps moving behind us, and whatever time we have on this earth is less and less. Good to stop and ponder sometimes.

LORD, make me to know mine end, and the measure of my days, what it is; that I may know how frail I am.

Behold, thou hast made my days as an handbreadth; and mine age is as nothing before thee: verily every man at his best state is altogether vanity. Selah.

Psalm 39:4-5

Whereas ye know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away.

For that ye ought to say, If the Lord will, we shall live, and do this, or that.

James 4:14-15

We are nothing really aren't we and our time is so short. May we sister saints who have been born of God and washed in Christ's blood, redeem the time in that which is good and profitable and necessary and edifying and godly.

So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom.
Psalm 90:12

See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise,

Redeeming the time, because the days are evil.

Wherefore be ye not unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord is.

Ephesians 5:15-17

The seasons in His creations are changing too. It's even starting to get light here in the mornings before 5am so the days are surely getting longer here. Surely the Lord has appointed the sun and moon for times and seasons.

And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years:

And let them be for lights in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth: and it was so.

And God made two great lights; the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night: he made the stars also.

And God set them in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth,

And to rule over the day and over the night, and to divide the light from the darkness: and God saw that it was good.

Genesis 1:14-18

Just some pretty and peaceful creations in the evening light here.

Just what I took while getting in and hanging out laundry (did a LOT of that today!). It was so quiet and peaceful with birds and crickets singing. Country blessings...and yet there's the busy noisy world out there still with man getting up to all kinds of things and much that he shouldn't. But God's creations are good.

Jesus told us to consider His creation didn't He...

Consider the ravens: for they neither sow nor reap; which neither have storehouse nor barn; and God feedeth them: how much more are ye better than the fowls?
Luke 12:24

Consider the lilies how they grow: they toil not, they spin not; and yet I say unto you, that Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.
Luke 12:27

We can indeed learn things from His creatures!

Go to the ant, thou sluggard; consider her ways, and be wise: Which having no guide, overseer, or ruler, Provideth her meat in the summer, and gathereth her food in the harvest.
Proverbs 6:6-8

This is an interesting scripture to ponder too...

And he said, Verily I say unto you, No prophet is accepted in his own country.

But I tell you of a truth, many widows were in Israel in the days of Elias, when the heaven was shut up three years and six months, when great famine was throughout all the land;

But unto none of them was Elias sent, save unto Sarepta, a city of Sidon, unto a woman that was a widow.

And many lepers were in Israel in the time of Eliseus the prophet; and none of them was cleansed, saving Naaman the Syrian.

Luke 4:24-27

There are many interesting accounts in His Word, including in the Old Testament which are often mentioned in the New too.

Pondering this scripture too and what faith actually is!

Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.
Hebrews 11:1

We see a lot of evidence for God don't we! His Word also tells us that creation speaks as a witness to Him.

The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his handywork.

Day unto day uttereth speech, and night unto night sheweth knowledge.

There is no speech nor language, where their voice is not heard.

Their line is gone out through all the earth, and their words to the end of the world. In them hath he set a tabernacle for the sun,

Psalm 19:1-4

There is no chance this wonderful and huge and detailed and interconnected and orderly creation made itself!

We have His written Word also and the fact that He came to earth as a human too!

And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory.
1 Timothy 3:16

People have a tendency to want to worship something they can see I think so they make physical idols or even if it's what they own or do and highly esteem or even themselves I guess. But we walk by faith in that which is unseen but we have the great evidence of a very great God!

But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.
Hebrews 11:6

Therefore we are always confident, knowing that, whilst we are at home in the body, we are absent from the Lord:

(For we walk by faith, not by sight:)

We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord.

Wherefore we labour, that, whether present or absent, we may be accepted of him.

2 Corinthians 5:6-9

If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God.

Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.

For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God.

When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory.

Colossians 3:1-4

That's a good encouraging scripture! Indeed Christ is our life and outside of Him and His Spirit we are dead.

We are looking for His appearing aren't we sisters.

That thou keep this commandment without spot, unrebukeable, until the appearing of our Lord Jesus Christ:

Which in his times he shall shew, who is the blessed and only Potentate, the King of kings, and Lord of lords;

Who only hath immortality, dwelling in the light which no man can approach unto; whom no man hath seen, nor can see: to whom be honour and power everlasting. Amen.

1 Timothy 6:14-16

Let us keep preparing for the coming of our great King!

It's been such a busy day cleaning up here! But thankful for rest soon and a quieter day tomorrow Lord willing. Keep pressing on sisters in the faith and also in these physical bodies which can grow weary and worn and such like! Our Lord never grows weary! Let us look to Him! Hold fast sisters! Our Lord be magnified!

Much love in Christ,

Sister Chayil
