Let Our Light Shine

This post is inspired by a sister's blog post about our appearance as godly women being a visual witness for Christ. Obviously the first thing people see of anyone, including God's saints, is their clothing, their outsides. Also our faces are a reflection of what is on our insides. Of course when we are out in the world we do not speak to everyone who sees us, so how does what they briefly see bring glory to God...without any words? (And are we ready to share words?)

Our biblical and simple way of dress (and head covering), without any adornment additions of makeup or jewellery, does set us apart from the world with its cultures, fashions, and vile immodesty. And by no means do we dress this way to stand out but to be obedient to our holy Lord. Not so long ago, perhaps we would not have stood out so much, as women in our western cultures until relatively recently wore long dresses (perhaps not always biblical but still not to the vile level of nakedness we see today). So it is the culture that has changed and God's saints that will remain the same throughout all the crazy changing fashions of this world which will pass away in the end. God's Word never changes and He says how His daughters (and sons) are to dress. And of course we do not conform to the culture in order to try to reach them as then who decides how far to go and who is right? No! God's holy truth is raised above all the changing fashions of man and calls His people to separate from the sin around them.

Apart from biblical women, there are still other groups of people of different types of religions the world over that still wear dresses, skirts, or robes and headcovering etc. While they are not God's people, or necessarily biblical in the way they dress, they still dress this way nonetheless and I suppose it is good that they still have some sense of decency unlike those who have no shame in taking off most everything (clothing being our sin covering that God put humans in at the beginning). And of course our clothing means nothing if our insides/hearts are rotten and unconverted so all these people need to repent as Christ spoke against the Pharisees who were like this (Matthew 23).

But for those of us women striving to be biblical in our outward appearance of dress how are we presenting ourselves to the world?

What I want to share is that does our conduct of our life reflect from our pure and regenerated heart and do all our actions line up with our Lord's ways. These would be the fruits of the Spirit (love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance, righteousness and truth, Galatians 5:22-23, Ephesians 5:9)

and the ways of a godly woman of a meek and quiet spirit (1 Peter 3)

and as taught in Titus 2

"The aged women likewise, that they be in behaviour as becometh holiness, not false accusers, not given to much wine, teachers of good things; That they may teach the young women to be sober, to love their husbands, to love their children, To be discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God be not blasphemed.
(4-5)

and Proverbs 31 also of a diligent hard worker who looks well to the ways of her household.

It might not be something we think deeply about often but what impression does the world get of us in the brief moments they might see us as we go about our business? Does it bring glory or shame to our God?

Is our whole demeanor becoming of a true saint of God, a daughter of the Highest?

Do we remember that there is hope in Christ for everyone in the world also? Do we truly love the people around us as the lost souls that they are (which is not just telling them that God loves them all)? They all need to repent and obey the biblical gospel of Christ (see that here). Do we look for opportunities to share the great hope we have? Are we prepared and ready to give an answer?

The Lord has raised up to be His saints a people who were just as these people in the world once. And just like Paul wrote in 1 Timothy 1:12-16 how he was an example that the Lord can forgive and have mercy on those who once were sinners.

While we women of God are not out lifting up our voices and preaching and teaching like the men, we are still a silent witness against the vileness of our generation and may we be ready to share the truth of the gospel as the Lord gives us opportunity. May our manner of life adorn the doctrine of Christ and not bring shame upon His name.

Praises be to our mighty God and Saviour who has raised up a peculiar people zealous of good works. Once we were dead in sins serving divers lusts and pleasures but thanks be to God for giving us hope and forgiveness and may we all strive on for our worthy Lord!

What a great God we serve!

Love to you sisters who are lights in this dark world.

An Awesome Flower Garden

I share some wonderful creations of God from a garden my sisters and I visited not too long ago when we were travelling interstate.

This is what it looked like from a nearby hill...

But when you get down into the valley it was stunning!

I add in a Psalm and some scripture.

Praise God!

...and enjoy!

Psalm 67

"God be merciful unto us, and bless us; and cause his face to shine upon us; Selah.

That thy way may be known upon earth, thy saving health among all nations.

Let the people praise thee, O God; let all the people praise thee.

O let the nations be glad and sing for joy: for thou shalt judge the people righteously, and govern the nations upon earth. Selah.

Let the people praise thee, O God; let all the people praise thee.

Then shall the earth yield her increase; and God, even our own God, shall bless us.

God shall bless us; and all the ends of the earth shall fear him."

"And I saw another angel fly in the midst of heaven, having the everlasting gospel to preach unto them that dwell on the earth, and to every nation, and kindred, and tongue, and people,

Saying with a loud voice, Fear God, and give glory to him; for the hour of his judgment is come: and worship him that made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and the fountains of waters." (Revelation 14:7)

"Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness.

Wherefore, beloved, seeing that ye look for such things, be diligent that ye may be found of him in peace, without spot, and blameless." (2 Peter 3:13-14)

"And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And he said unto me, Write: for these words are true and faithful.

And he said unto me, It is done. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life freely.

He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son." (Revelation 21:5-7)

May the Lord be praised for His marvellous works in His Creation!

See the gospel here.

Patience in Trials

I know we really have it easy. At least I do, in terms of living in a peaceful country with good living conditions and where one is allowed to live as a believer without being in danger of being killed for one's faith, at least not yet. We know from scripture that true saints of God are going to have to endure persecution for their faith. But it also says to rejoice! Perhaps the persecution would largely be from family (or in the workplace maybe) for those in countries with "religious freedom". I know our Lord said there must be division for His sake (Matthew 10). We most likely will also be persecuted for our uncompromising position by others claiming Christ...although I thought love was to be a major character among God's people? The sad reality is that it is not so. It is the reality of the sad state of their hearts.

So I am encouraged by these verses which I am sharing here that the saints that have gone before us have written. I am sure the Lord will give His faithful and obedient ones strength when we face trials in our lives...no matter how small or big they are. The scriptures are filled with such verses and it would be a worthwhile study to do to be strengthened and encouraged that the Lord will be with us through everything. We just have to be faithful!

So, my sisters-in-Christ, if times of greater persecution arise in the future we know we can endure through Christ! And we CAN endure through all the things we face today when we go fully with the Word and become set apart peculiar people zealous for good works.

"I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me."
(Philippians 4:13)

"For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ. But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us.

We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed;

we are perplexed, but not in despair;

Persecuted, but not forsaken;

cast down, but not destroyed;

Always bearing about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our body. For we which live are always delivered unto death for Jesus' sake, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our mortal flesh.

(2 Corinthians 4:6-11)

"That no man should be moved by these afflictions: for yourselves know that we are appointed thereunto. For verily, when we were with you, we told you before that we should suffer tribulation; even as it came to pass, and ye know."

(1 Thessalonians 3:3-4)

"Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution."

(2 Timothy 3:12)

"Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter. Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.
(Romans 8:35-37)

Amen! We can be more than conquerors through our Saviour!

Glory to God!

Being a Godly Woman in a Feminist World

As I am striving to be a godly woman in all areas and in learning many things, I see more clearly how far society (and with it Christianity as it is linked to the world) has fallen in this area; the area of who a woman is and how she should live because of that. As a born again believer made a new creation by the Spirit, I can see from studying God's Word what God wants from women. And the Lord gives me desire and power to obey it. Praise God for telling us so we don't have to be confused or not know the answers!

Looking in Genesis, we see first why God even created woman. God Himself created woman from the man and for the man.

We all know well how that it was the woman who was tempted and first fell into sin by disobedience to God's clear command. Paul writes "For Adam was first formed, then Eve. And Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived was in the transgression." (1 Timothy 2:13-14)

We can learn much from this fact as to how a godly woman is to be because of what Eve had done and how God had created her for Adam, to be his helper and not the other way around.

And so it is to this day, though the world seems to think the opposite in many cases. It ought not to be so among God's daughters who know better and have the Holy Spirit. And if a woman is a true believer she will diligently study and consider these facts and strive hard to put them into practice for the glory of God.

Yes, in Christ, both man and woman are equal spiritually for salvation etc as in Galatians 3:28 but certainly not in her place in the body of Christ nor in the physical how God Himself created her.

We see God telling Eve how things would now be with her after she had disobeyed Him. "Unto the woman he said, I will greatly multiply thy sorrow and thy conception; in sorrow thou shalt bring forth children; and thy desire shall be to thy husband, and he shall rule over thee." (Genesis 3:16)

In 1 Corinthians 11, we further read the order God has set in place for man and woman. "But I would have you know, that the head of every man is Christ; and the head of the woman is the man; and the head of Christ is God. " (3)

Simple enough; God, Christ, man, then woman. (And because of this order, women are also to cover their heads as further commanded in that chapter).

Moving on. In Paul's writings we see the command for women to be silent in the gathering of the believers. This is because man is to be the head and the spiritual leaders and teachers as it has been from the beginning.

"Let your women keep silence in the churches: for it is not permitted unto them to speak; but they are commanded to be under obedience as also saith the law. And if they will learn any thing, let them ask their husbands at home: for it is a shame for women to speak in the church.
(1 Corinthians 14:34-36)

The truth is God's Word is clear on this so we ought to take it very seriously indeed. I understand most women do not want to hear it and what it fully means to them but I trust that all claiming Christ would obey their Creator in this and all things.

Furthermore, we see this verse. "Let the woman learn in silence with all subjection. But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence." (1 Timothy 2:11-12)

Again very clear there.

And for women with husbands we see submission and respect is commanded by God in many places of which these are a few.

"Likewise, ye wives, be in subjection to your own husbands; that, if any obey not the word, they also may without the word be won by the conversation of the wives;" (1 Peter 3:1)

"Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord. For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the saviour of the body." (Ephesians 5:22-23)

All believers are to be submitted to God and His commands of course. So also ought a married woman to submit to her husband in all things (except sin of course).

So this is all very interconnected right from the first woman in the world and so it is today as there are no commands that say God changed this to allow for women to rule and have authority over men as is happening all over today. Nor is there any place in scripture that says women can teach in the body of Christ (except older women ARE to teach younger women in the areas mentioned in Titus 2).

So how to put in practice and live daily in this role God has for women?

There is much more to this than I can possibly share here for now but if you are a woman claiming to have been born again by the true gospel (see that here) then examine your life to see how you are going at this and pray that the Lord would help you to see where you are falling short and repent.

As a personal testimony, I knew women church leaders were wrong but I had a wrong view of what the body of Christ actually is so now that effects my beliefs and actions in this subject as I have learned about the true body of believers. But it doesn't only affect how we women relate to brothers in the body but also to all men even in the world to whom we ought to be quiet and reserved around.

I am still young and learning many things out of God's Word. And although written by Apostle Paul to young Timothy, this verse "
Let no man despise thy youth; but be thou an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity." (1 Timothy 4:12), comes to mind and is still appropriate perhaps, as I certainly am striving to be an example of the believers in all these areas. I don't want to bring reproach on Christ's worthy name, nor blaspheme the Word of God as it says in Titus 2 how we women can do that if we don't obey. "That they may teach the young women to be sober, to love their husbands, to love their children, To be discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God be not blasphemed." (Titus 2:4-5)

I am learning how to respond in each situation that I face and being careful with my words and remembering that silence could be the way to go rather than words in some cases. Not to say a godly woman ought to be silent and allow others to push her around into sin etc. No, she ought to be strong and bold for the truth of God and not swayed into sin. This requires that she is well studied in the Word and is ready to give an answer if necessary though not using her knowledge and understanding of scripture to teach men but to live holy and to be pleasing to her God. If you think more before you speak and ask yourself what your motive is for wanting to say something then you will not regret saying something wrong.

Feminism (basically a woman being out of her God created place) is nothing but sin seen right from the beginning in Eve. A woman striving to be godly will be constantly examining her life for any traces of that and if she finds any will repent and forsake it. Only when a woman wants to be disobedient to God first of all and to His ordained male headship would she want to usurp authority from the men.

Yes women pastors and leaders in the church are obviously sinful from the Word. But there are many other subtle ways just as the serpent was subtle in his enticement of Eve that there can be feminism today.

Having said all this, it does not mean that a woman of God is not being active in the body of Christ. She just has to do it in the right way as God commands of her. We see Paul praising many godly sisters for their faithful service of helping and ministering among the believers and in that was support of those men labouring in preaching the gospel.

I hope and plan to write more on this and similar subjects in time as the Lord leads...and in His will. "For that ye ought to say, If the Lord will, we shall live, and do this, or that." (James 4:15)

Yes we live in a mixed up, deceived world full of sin and darkness...but a woman who is the Lord's can find the truth of who God created her to be. She can be a shining light of God's pure and holy ways in a crooked generation. She submits to God's ways for women. She doesn't compromise if scorned by the world. She delights to be who God says she is and where God says she should be. This is how she will be a godly woman in a feminist world.

As in this verse below, may we women fear God. And that would be obeying His place for women and not doing what we in our flesh might want to do. Is there not a verse that says they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh? Yes that would include feminism I am sure. And the more we strive and mature in this day by day, we will be glorifying our Lord until He takes us home if we endure.

Love in Christ...to all sisters in Christ striving to be obedient in this and all other areas.

Scripture & Creation Encouragement

Yes it says everything, ladies! Something worth taking notice of how we are all doing at that? I need to be reminded myself, as at times I, and I'm sure we all, can forget to be active in giving thanks in all situations...also knowing that all things work together for good to them that love God, along with the fact that if God be for us who can be against us?

I share a few pictures of God's Creation from the last few days.

And some scriptures from God's Holy Word to ponder for your day.

May He be praised!

"Blessed are the pure in heart: for they shall see God."

(Matthew 5:8)

"And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful."

(Colossians 3:15)

"Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.

For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.

(1 John 2:15-16)

"Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you.

And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty.

(2 Corinthians 6:17-18)

"She openeth her mouth with wisdom; and in her tongue is the law of kindness.

She looketh well to the ways of her household, and eateth not the bread of idleness."

(Proverbs 31:26-27)

May the above verse summarize a few aspects of who we are as godly women, and if we fall short may it encourage us to press on harder!

Love in the Lord,

...from a daughter of God, striving for His glory.

"But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

(1 Corinthians 15:57)

See the good news of Christ here.

Remembering What Matters

I have had a situation (a death in my extended family) today that has reminded me in a greater way how we, as godly women, ought to be living with our whole heart for what matters most - God and making Him known to lost souls as we can as women; living for eternity. Yes I know this already, but sometimes it is more vivid in my mind, like now.

I also see God's perfect timing in this situation as I was able to share the true gospel via email with the said family member just a few weeks earlier, so it was either for her repentance or condemnation. God alone knows that and I will leave that to Him. See the full gospel explained a little more here

"And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last."

(Revelation 22:12-13)

(Matthew 7:13-14)

"Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.

(Matthew 7:21-23)

I see how deceived so many professed believers are as they live in man-made religion and choose for this life earthly pleasures instead of the sufferings of Christ by obeying the full gospel. And they are trying to get by with keeping just SOME of God's commands. Yes it is sad, but I know everyone has a free will and will be without excuse before a holy God.

"Now she that is a widow indeed, and desolate, trusteth in God, and continueth in supplications and prayers night and day.

But she that liveth in pleasure is dead while she liveth.

(1 Timothy 5:5-6)

I was once caught up in some of that in the past but I have repented and now I am striving for Christ, for He alone is worthy!

(Revelation 5:12)

I, as a godly woman, do not want to live for this life...but for my Lord who paid a great price for me. I do not want to be deceived by false ways of Christianity as it is today. And I know that all in Christ will be persecuted to some extent, but...

"For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.

(Romans 8:18)

May I also, with the Lord's help, not once complain about the things I may not like in this life and instead live to glorify God with my affections set on things above, lest I be like the children of Israel who provoked the Lord.

"Take heed, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief, in departing from the living God.

But exhort one another daily, while it is called To day; lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin.

(Hebrews 3:12-13)

I praise God for faithful and obedient brothers and sisters in Christ who are striving hard, overcoming the flesh, living in the Spirit, making the gospel known, and exhorting one another daily lest anyone be hardened by sin. I am greatly encouraged to know just a few of these true saints and I know God has His people all over the world shining where He has called them. Though we be FEW, we are united in love and doctrine!

To God be ALL the glory!

I love this verse which is true for those who are faithful and obedient saints.

Standing Strong in a Faithless World

A quick reminder and encouragement of something that came to mind.

I was thinking of the fact that there is so little faith left in this world and about how we godly women have to stand strong in it. And I was thinking about the parable that Jesus told about the nobleman going into a far country and giving work to each to do to occupy till he returned. Yes we women have important work to do for the Lord also and for others around us.

So if it seems this will all go on forever this way I reminded myself that it says that He will come and will not tarry. One day all the evils will be put right by a just God. Don't worry sisters!

And His beautiful Creation is witness to Him and may our lives also be testimonies to His power as strong godly and pure women in an ungodly and vile world. May we be redeeming these times of relative peace we have in most parts of the world to prepare for any trials that might come and do the Lord's work.

I'm going to go read that great faith chapter of Hebrews 11.

I share this scripture.

"Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us,

Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.

For consider him that endured such contradiction of sinners against himself, lest ye be wearied and faint in your minds.

(Hebrews 12:1-3)

May we keep our focus on the Lord and not on our surroundings as they may change but the Lord changes not and He is faithful. We can trust Him. I remind myself to take a lesson from Peter who took his eyes off of Christ when he was walking on the water and looked at the storms around him instead...and we know things went wrong with him then. There are many ways we women can do that in the trials of life but may we recognize when that is happening and repent of our fear and lack of faith.

This verse has also been on my mind...so I added it to a picture I took this evening. I hope this short post encourages any who read.

Stand strong godly women! May we all be women of great faith in a faithless generation.

The Quiet Life of a Servant

Yes, for godly women our lives are centered around serving (godly men too of course but for women it is somewhat different, going on the purpose for what God created woman in the first place, Genesis 2:18).

First, she is a servant of God, then perhaps she has a husband, or she assists other people in their needs...or whatever place she has in life. There are many opportunities to see the needs around and minister in them.

Whatever the circumstances, we should see it all as a joy. It is what glorifies God, which is what we should be living for daily. Joy is one fruit of the Spirit and soberness of mind another attribute of a godly woman. So must all these qualities be balanced. In a heart born by the Spirit, these will all produce an inner peace and contentment of a daughter of the Highest.

We do see in scripture many examples of women labouring hard to support their families and in the body of Christ we see them ministering to those preaching the gospel (Jesus and Paul etc); a very important support role indeed!

This is by no means an in depth study of the subject but just a quick encouragement to other godly women (and in that I include myself, as a reminder:-) that God is pleased when we joyfully serve others, if we can do it with a clear conscience without sinning of course, as we must live for Christ first and foremost.

For those seeking to be a Titus 2 keeper at home...yes God is pleased when we do those things that the world says is unimportant. It is obedience to His commands...and we know His commands are not grievous.

And this all also goes along with being content and not looking around at others in envy and coveting what we do not have or should not have. When a woman humbly submits to her God-c
reated role, it is a beautiful thing and glorifying to her Creator. To rebel is a grave error and one we see from the beginning of mankind in the garden and up to this present time until the Lord comes to restore it all. The Lord has made both man and woman as He saw fit and so why would we humans dare to think that we know better (pride)? The Lord is the Potter and we the clay. So may we submit to His Will and be willing vessels that He can then use for His purposes.

For me, I live a very quiet (yet busy) life, labouring to serve where the Lord has called me (as a helper and babysitter for my family). And that is repeatedly day in, day out, doing the same keeper at home things. Yes as women who keep the home (their own or some one else's), it may seem that most all you do is wash dishes and wash clothes and cook and do all the countless odd jobs that need to be done to keep a household running smoothly, all the while tending to little ones perhaps. But I remind myself, yes that is pleasing to God because He commands women to be about the home (Titus 2, Proverbs 31 etc), except in a few cases perhaps where a woman may need to work outside the home to support herself (especially in a sinful world where she may need to separate from family etc for the Lord's sake).

While I may be like a servant to my family, I am free in the Lord and I am striving to live a set apart life in a wicked and deceived world. And so for now, I trust Him that that is what He has for me to do as I strive to live for Him first and keep myself unspotted from the world. So on those days when you wonder a little if this is what we women are to do even if it seems mundane at times...yes I remind myself...and I remember that l do my serving unto the Lord.

So in conclusion and in keeping with 1 Peter 3:4, "But let it be the hidden man of the heart, in that which is not corruptible, even the ornament of a meek and quiet spirit, which is in the sight of God of great price.", we see it is highly pleasing to God for women to be quietly going about their lives minding their own business. And also in keeping with the command to be a light shining for Christ, we also need to be strong and well studied in the Word and ready to give an answer for the hope we have in Him.

I could write more on this subject but for now just be encouraged that just as the women who have gone before us, we must be in our place as serving others as unto the Lord and this is our love for the Lord for He commands it of us.

This description of a godly widow sounds a lot like a good example for us to strive to follow, "Well reported of for good works; if she have brought up children, if she have lodged strangers, if she have washed the saints' feet, if she have relieved the afflicted, if she have diligently followed every good work." (1 Timothy 5:10)

I'm aiming for that, and I pray you all are too.

But even if you are busy you can still take pictures of God's Creation sometimes...even with a baby in your arms (my niece:-). These are a few I took in the last few days. Such variety He created!

Remember this verse all you godly women out there who are faithfully serving in whatever job you have!

And finally also remember godly women, we serve to please God first and then we do it unto others. But our outward actions will mean nothing to God lest we have been born by the Spirit by the true gospel. Check out The Gospel here.

May the Lord be glorified in our lives as we strive to be obedient daughters of the most High God. Then we may gather with the Lord and all His saints and receive the rewards of our labours if we strive on faithful to the finish line.

Women of Light

This is a simple scripture post to encourage godly women - daughters of the most High and Holy God - who are women of light

Praises to all of God's obedient daughters the world over who are letting their lights shine in a meek and quiet manner as is becoming of women of God (1 Peter 3:4).

"But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light;

(1 Peter 2:9)

"But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.

(John 3:21)

"The night is far spent, the day is at hand: let us therefore cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armour of light.

(Romans 13:12)

"For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.
