Today's Edification (21 November 2024)

Greetings sisters!

Here's yet one more day the Lord gave us! I hope you're holding fast and not weary in well doing! I'm dropping back to share some edifying with you.

We know salvation is not a guaranteed locked up position but one we have to work on daily to remain faithful. If we stray we want to repent as soon as possible. We know we must continue in the faith until the end. We know it is a fight as well so I like to come here and encourage my sisters on if I can! And even if that's encouraging you to press on in thankfulness and contentment and peace and joy in your daily Titus 2 duties which may be a large part of your life! I have to work on that myself so encouraging you encourages me as well!

May we keep bearing good fruit for His glory! And keep working on pleasing Him until the end then we will have a good track record that glorifies Him like these widows were to...

Well reported of for good works; if she have brought up children, if she have lodged strangers, if she have washed the saints' feet, if she have relieved the afflicted, if she have diligently followed every good work.
1 Timothy 5:10

We just have to be faithful and diligent in what the Lord does have in our lives. It's good to ponder on what we have and if we're doing our best in it. Keep going sisters!

Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.

For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting.

And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.

As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith.

Galatians 6:7-10

That is good encouragement as well as a warning.

A little more refreshing in Titus 2 here...

To be discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God be not blasphemed.
Titus 2:5

Discreet and chaste we are to be. Some words not often used today...but important that we know what they are! Discreet meaning along the lines of self-controlled, moderate, temperate, curbing desires etc. Sounds much like sobriety I shared about yesterday. And chaste basically meaning pure and innocent. As it previously said at the start of the chapter...these are qualities that are fitting to sound doctrine. They are the truth. We want to walk in the truth don't we! Outside of that are false ways which are man's ways and that of the adversary.

I was pondering on hospitality and how we put it into practice in our lives. And no it doesn't always have to have something to do with our homes as sometimes you may first think but just being aware of and considerate of those around you even if that is out in the world. I was also thinking of the fact of what Jesus said that what you do to the least of His brethren you did it to Him and if you don't do something it is as if you didn't do it to Christ Himself. That seems pretty serious when He puts it like that. And also we got told some have entertained angels unawares. Surely that would be shameful if we were not hospitable to them! So it's good to ponder and test ourselves.

I also ponder how Jesus taught us not to greet our brethren only. And that He taught us to love and do good to our enemies. Sure there is a place to withdraw and not talk to some people as also taught in scripture for one example not casting pearls of truth before 'swine' but just as we go about our lives it is good to ponder on putting these things into practice and learning to do better if you realized you could have.

And no doubt we do treat and deal with saints differently than others...it's clear in scripture but still it's clear in scripture that we are to be perfect and blameless as well in how we interact with unbelievers/disobedient. So there's always things to work on and always will be won't there sisters! Keep going in whatever you face and come across and see where you can grow in! Just we never want to get discourage but rejoice to have opportunities to learn and grow and keep pressing onwards as there's so much hope in our merciful God but we still do not want to grieve Him.

Hold fast sisters wherever the Lord has called you! Be strong and settled in Him! He is our Rock! Peace and love to you in His name.

Today's Edification (20 November 2024)

Greetings sisters!

God gave me another day to be back here sharing some edifying! I hope you're all doing well wherever you are on this earth. God knows who His children are and He sees us all!

Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his. And, Let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity.
2 Timothy 2:19

That is a comfort! His children may be few and far between but He watches over us and cares. And if we go through trials that does not mean He has forsaken us by any means. Think of all the saints of old went through and our Saviour Himself. But we surely want to endure faithfully through all things He allows for us. Keep pressing on right where you are sisters!

I was pondering on shamefaced and other things that we godly women want to be in obedience to our Lord. We are so blessed to have His ways to guide us. They are always best! So I'm just sharing a few things. I'm sure I have before but we can do with reminders can't we!

In like manner also, that women adorn themselves in modest apparel, with shamefacedness and sobriety; not with broided hair, or gold, or pearls, or costly array;
1 Timothy 2:9

We may be able to get a little better understanding in reading the definitions, though of course those are not inspired by God.

And we can see the same word in this scripture translated into reverence and which all are to have towards God.

Wherefore we receiving a kingdom which cannot be moved, let us have grace, whereby we may serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear: For our God is a consuming fire.
Hebrews 12:28-29

And in the first scripture it is used in context of our clothing so it gives us some ideas of how we may not be shamefaced if we are adorning outwardly. And it will affect also how we relate to others...perhaps men in particular. And no doubt to God. We submit to Him in fear which is the beginning of wisdom. May we also clothe ourselves in humble reverant ways. We know the pattern in scripture from the beginning is loose covering and concealing garments as well as here it mentions more specifically for us women.

And here is another word used right near it...

It has the idea of self control doesn't it. Moderation and sanity.

I am sharing another scripture that describes how godly women are to be...

But let it be the hidden man of the heart, in that which is not corruptible, even the ornament of a meek and quiet spirit, which is in the sight of God of great price.
1 Peter 3:4

The 'hidden man of the heart'...and a 'meek and quiet' spirit'. This is of great price to God. No it may not be of great price to many humans who love to express themselves in pride, seeking attention and praise of man, and even common lascivious ways we see in this wicked world. But God's daughters are different as they walk in His pure and blameless ways! So through all these scriptures we can get a better picture of who God wants us to be!

And while in Christ we are all one and equal, men and women, there is clearly a difference, from the beginning of creation even.

For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus.

For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ.

There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus.

Galatians 3:26-28

We see this...

But I would have you know, that the head of every man is Christ; and the head of the woman is the man; and the head of Christ is God.
1 Corinthians 11:3

It is the order of authority that God has ordained. And so we see this too...

Let the woman learn in silence with all subjection. But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence.
1 Timothy 2:11-12

She is to have an extra quietness about her and indeed in the body she does not teach the men or have authority over them.

And none of this means a woman can never say a word to a man of course but she is to be shamefaced and have that meek and quiet spirit and demeanor. It is reverence and respect. And obedience to God first and foremost. It is not a picture of loud and bold and unashamed is it. No it is the opposite of that.

We can see Jesus and His interactions with women and how He never expected them to be completely silent of course otherwise He wouldn't have spoken to them. It's just a balance as we know women can have a tendency to speak (or write) a lot and so we just do our best to keep in our place...in each situation. And this would be particularly with men as of course women, sisters, can talk freely of all good pure and true things together! But we sisters also don't teach women in general in doctrines and things though of course it's good to talk about the truth and share the hope of the gospel if God gives us those opportunities!

We know the type of duties as in Titus 2 that He gave to us and so let us be thankful and content in them and that may well be a very quiet life but again God's word tell us that is good! We can rejoice to do things that are pleasing to Him and go forth doing our duties unto Him! Truly this is our faith in Him!

And yes absolutely we still can be a bright light first of all by obeying the Lord ourselves and also being ready to give an answer of the hope we have...again with meekness and fear as the scripture says. So it's not to think women don't have great roles as those God gave are the best but sometimes we may think we have to make things happen or be doing greater works. But God's will is what He has laid out for us in the Word. Again as I keep saying...God's ways are not man's! Let us never think we know better or can do things our own ways.

Just good to ponder and refresh on all His ways for us! May we keep walking in them sisters...in whatever life we do have. Hold fast in the truth and if the Lord wills I will be back tomorrow. The Lord gave me safe travels and so I have some different duties again. Love to you in His name.

Peace be to the brethren, and love with faith, from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
Ephesians 6:23

Today's Edification (19 November 2024)

Hello again sisters!

I'm back again! God let me be and there's so many things not to take forgranted. It's another day to press forwards in the truth!

My soul followeth hard after thee: thy right hand upholdeth me.
Psalm 63:8
For the Lord GOD will help me; therefore shall I not be confounded: therefore have I set my face like a flint, and I know that I shall not be ashamed.
Isaiah 50:7

Remember, Jesus said blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed! Indeed we live as if we have seen Him. That is our faith! And it manifests in our life and what we do! Only a dead faith will not do anything or look like anything. Our faith is shown in our actions isn't it sisters! May they be consistent with faith in the one true and living God!

Sharing a few things from my days. I'm sure each of you also have many things going on even if much is the same every single day! Don't grow weary in any good thing, sisters!

Hopeful for a bountiful zucchini harvest soon! I'm sure you know how fruitful they can be! Just mainly doing a lot of watering is what sums up what I've been doing in the garden and orchard.

And thankful to have most of the fruiting trees netted! I guess there's a lot of other hungry creatures who think they're good food too but we take dominion don't we. I'm sure the birds will find other food just fine!

Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they?
Matthew 6:26

It's really on the verge of being a too hot climate to grow apples here. They often get sunburned but so far there's a heap on that tree! Good fruit blessings God created! Hopefully some make it.

Sun ripening apricots...

And more garden treasures from the ground...

Another reptile creation...

He's all puffed up trying to make himself look bigger than he really is.

Funny how the chickens can refuse to lay in the box provided and lay them on the ground instead. Oh well at least we still get egg blessings either way!

I saw these two small doves out the window.

And they just reminded me of the Word especially this...
And when the days of her purification according to the law of Moses were accomplished, they brought him to Jerusalem, to present him to the Lord;

(As it is written in the law of the Lord, Every male that openeth the womb shall be called holy to the Lord;)

And to offer a sacrifice according to that which is said in the law of the Lord, A pair of turtledoves, or two young pigeons.
Luke 2:22-24

And I was thinking how God required sacrifice of those animals that were gentle for the most part (like doves and lambs) and not something despised or overly dangerous etc. Innocent creatures had to die for our sins. And they were to be perfect as well. Just interesting to ponder how God wanted it back then. This all surely would have been hard to do but no doubt a constant reminder of the seriousness of sin.

And Aaron shall lay both his hands upon the head of the live goat, and confess over him all the iniquities of the children of Israel, and all their transgressions in all their sins, putting them upon the head of the goat, and shall send him away by the hand of a fit man into the wilderness: And the goat shall bear upon him all their iniquities unto a land not inhabited: and he shall let go the goat in the wilderness.
Leviticus 16:21-22

And he shall lay his hand upon the head of the goat, and kill it in the place where they kill the burnt offering before the LORD: it is a sin offering.
Leviticus 4:24

But now we have a better covenant in the Lamb of God who was sacrificed once for all for us. Praise God for His goodness! He also was innocent and died, the just for the unjust. How merciful God has been to us and how much hope we have in Him!

Peaceful and pretty butterfly creation...

And a bird with a nest with eggs in...

So amazing how God made them be able to make something so perfect like that nest!

Peaceful evening farm scene. (Well after the calf was back where it was supposed to be it was peaceful at least!)

This makes me smile and be thankful...

When a fabric you frequently buy is half price and you have a $40 off coupon if you spend $120 and get free shipping over $120...there's a lot of blessings in there! You just got to buy a lot when it's like that and I did! 20 metres of fabric in fact. It's how I can keep my sewn items reasonably priced as fabric isn't cheap usually and Etsy takes a chunk too so it's just a blessing. But it doesn't always happen that it's that good so it's just an extra blessing.

I got four shirts cut out to take to sew at the children's when I go on the bus tomorrow...Lord willing. Not sure how much I'll get done but it was great to fill any cracks of time I had there last time. Thankful to redeem the time even more and have things to keep occupied in. If you just keep going bit by bit at something you do finish eventually too!

And it's satisfying bringing order out of what looks like chaos! I'm really thankful to have a biblical clothing shop. God is good to let me be able to.

Next two chapters of Ecclesiastes to edify you here...

As it often speaks of in there...the vanity of things. So thankful to not be labouring in vain in the Lord!

Then the devil leaveth him, and, behold, angels came and ministered unto him.
Matthew 4:11

I love thinking about that. After Jesus had been sorely tempted by the enemy for forty days...the angels came and helped Him. That is encouraging I think even for us knowing God cares about us. And in this life we will have various trials and temptations and some may be more intense than others but we can think of our Lord Himself who was also tempted...yet without sin! We have been told it is a blessing to endure them.

Blessed is the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love him.
James 1:12

So may we hold fast to the Lord and truth through the fiery darts of the wicked which we resist with the shield of faith!

Heal me, O LORD, and I shall be healed; save me, and I shall be saved: for thou art my praise.
Jeremiah 17:14

Just sharing that scripture because it's good!

May we continue in all good works that the Lord has for us! It's good to ponder all the different duties the Lord has given us and make sure we are doing our best in them all!

And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works.
Hebrews 10:24

Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works.
Titus 2:14

That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.
2 Timothy 3:17

Now the God of peace, that brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting covenant,

Make you perfect in every good work to do his will, working in you that which is wellpleasing in his sight, through Jesus Christ; to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen .

Hebrews 13:20-21

Keep pressing on sisters, as good soldiers of Jesus Christ and not becoming entangled with the affairs of this life. Oh yes we have many things we need to do and for one example we have been commanded to obey the laws of the land and we have to have dealings and interactions with the world. But we do not unnecessarily become involved with this world. It is a snare if we do. Our life and citizenship is in heaven. So let us be wise and strive to best redeem the time the Lord has given to us. Our redemption draws nearer sisters! Be ready!

Today's Edification (18 November 2024)

Greetings sister saints!

I trust you're all striving on in the Lord. I am here and we know Jesus said we had to to enter the kingdom. Many would try but would not be able. Many would think they were good but shall be turned away. I don't want that for anyone so press on in the faith sisters in such a faithless generation. He is our Saviour. And He is holy and commands we be also. Of course His blood cleanses us but He gave us His Word to live by too! I'm thankful for it as He is our guide and this world is so confusing and changeable.

For this God is our God for ever and ever: he will be our guide even unto death.
Psalm 48:14

To give light to them that sit in darkness and in the shadow of death, to guide our feet into the way of peace.
Luke 1:79

Sharing some encouragement from the psalms today. There's always a lot there!

Blessed are the undefiled in the way, who walk in the law of the LORD.

Blessed are they that keep his testimonies, and that seek him with the whole heart.

They also do no iniquity: they walk in his ways.

Thou hast commanded us to keep thy precepts diligently.

O that my ways were directed to keep thy statutes!

Then shall I not be ashamed, when I have respect unto all thy commandments.

Psalm 119:1-6

Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.

But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.

And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.

Psalm 1:1-3

I love this one too...

But let all those that put their trust in thee rejoice: let them ever shout for joy, because thou defendest them: let them also that love thy name be joyful in thee.

For thou, LORD, wilt bless the righteous; with favour wilt thou compass him as with a shield.

Psalm 5:11-12

He cares for His saints.

Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.

Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:

Whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world.

1 Peter 5:7-9

Let no man deceive himself. If any man among you seemeth to be wise in this world, let him become a fool, that he may be wise.

For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God. For it is written, He taketh the wise in their own craftiness.

And again, The Lord knoweth the thoughts of the wise, that they are vain.

1 Corinthians 3:18-20

Indeed the world thinks the truth and the stake of Christ and the way of obedience is foolish but God knows better and their worldly wisdom is truly foolishness. In the eyes of the world, we become fools for Christ's sake. But we are truly wise then. The fear of God, which no doubts leads to obedience, is wisdom.

And unto man he said, Behold, the fear of the Lord, that is wisdom; and to depart from evil is understanding.
Job 28:28

I hope all your godly women's works are going well sisters! Washing the dishes, washing clothes and things, cleaning, cooking, sewing, being wives, raising children, gardening, and every other good thing the Lord may have for you specifically! Be encouraged that the Lord sees it all and unto Him we labour in faith. The truth is different to man's ways of thinking isn't it!

But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.
1 Corinthians 2:14

Man wants to do his own things and in his own ways. But we submit ourselves to the Lord's ways which are better! And even if our flesh doesn't like them sometimes we cast down those thoughts and set our mind rightly in the truth!

Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;
2 Corinthians 10:5

Hold fast wherever you are sisters! The Lord must be glorified! My love be with you.

Salutations to my sisters in the faith!

I'm dropping in here to share some edifying with you whoever is there reading! But the Lord sees if no one else does! And unto Him we are to do all things by faith! May we be stedfast and strong in the faith and truth!

We don't want to be like this...

That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive;

But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ:

Ephesians 4:14-15

Or this...

Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.
2 Timothy 3:7

But this is what we want to be in Christ...

As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in him:

Rooted and built up in him, and stablished in the faith, as ye have been taught, abounding therein with thanksgiving.

Colossians 2:6-7

That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love,
Ephesians 3:17

But the Lord is faithful, who shall stablish you, and keep you from evil.
2 Thessalonians 3:3

To the end he may stablish your hearts unblameable in holiness before God, even our Father, at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ with all his saints.
1 Thessalonians 3:13

Comfort your hearts, and stablish you in every good word and work.
2 Thessalonians 2:17

Be ye also patient; stablish your hearts: for the coming of the Lord draweth nigh.
James 5:8

But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you.
1 Peter 5:10

Yes so let us cleave to the Lord and His truth so tightly in these perilous times. He is our Rock!

For thou art my rock and my fortress; therefore for thy name's sake lead me, and guide me.
Psalm 31:3

Keep patiently enduring day by day, sisters! Those days add up to a lifetime and there is always hope and mercy in our Lord as we stay humble and surrendered to Him! May He be glorified! Love to you in His name.

Today's Edification (16 November 2024)

Hello again sisters!

Good to start the day pondering on and being thankful for God's mercy, grace, love, kindness, longsuffering, faithfulness, forgiveness, and so much more! How can you not go forth in your day rejoicing with a humble thankful heart after that! Reminds me of the man in Acts that Philip preached Jesus to who went on his way rejoicing about hearing about the Saviour!

So I share a few scriptures on those amazing blessings and of course there's so much more!

And the LORD passed by before him, and proclaimed, The LORD, The LORD God, merciful and gracious, longsuffering, and abundant in goodness and truth,
Keeping mercy for thousands, forgiving iniquity and transgression and sin, and that will by no means clear the guilty; visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children, and upon the children's children, unto the third and to the fourth generation.
Exodus 34:6-7

But thou, O Lord, art a God full of compassion, and gracious, longsuffering, and plenteous in mercy and truth. O turn unto me, and have mercy upon me; give thy strength unto thy servant, and save the son of thine handmaid.
Psalm 86:15-16

I will mention the lovingkindnesses of the LORD, and the praises of the LORD, according to all that the LORD hath bestowed on us, and the great goodness toward the house of Israel, which he hath bestowed on them according to his mercies, and according to the multitude of his lovingkindnesses.
Isaiah 63:7

But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us, Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;)
Ephesians 2:4-5

If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
1 John 1:9

He is good and so too we His children are to strive to be perfect as He is. Holy as He is. Of course we're still humans and always will be until we are like the angels in heaven with new spiritual bodies but until then we just strive to do our best with His help in these mortal bodies.

I was thinking of this scripture...

Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.
1 Corinthians 15:58

And how whatever good works we do, our labours in the Lord, and that which is according to His will is never in vain! Isn't that encouraging! We once may have lived for useless corruptible things and the lusts of the flesh, all temporary vain things but now in Christ nothing is in vain! Praise God for this! And others can be set free as well!

I must go now. But one day if we all endure we shall be forever with the Lord! Let that comfort us and help us strive on with more zeal and love for Him. We can endure in anticipation of getting to see Him face to face!

Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.

Wherefore comfort one another with these words.

1 Thessalonians 4:17-18

Today's Edification (15 November 2024)

Greetings sisters!

I hope you are doing well on this day! Each day is unique and though it may seem they have many of the same things in they're all different! Also we have the opportunity to make many choices in each one. We want to make good ones for the Lord don't we! And we can also learn as we go what to do better and what not to repeat and such like. And so we just keep going in our days!

I was pondering the Father's love for His Son. It is very great and yet He gave Him up for our sins. Truly He is so good and merciful.

The Father loveth the Son, and hath given all things into his hand.
John 3:35

For the Father loveth the Son, and sheweth him all things that himself doeth: and he will shew him greater works than these, that ye may marvel.
John 5:20

Therefore doth my Father love me, because I lay down my life, that I might take it again.
John 10:17

As the Father hath loved me, so have I loved you: continue ye in my love.
John 15:9

For he received from God the Father honour and glory, when there came such a voice to him from the excellent glory, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.
2 Peter 1:17

And the Son loved His Father...

But that the world may know that I love the Father; and as the Father gave me commandment, even so I do. Arise, let us go hence.
John 14:31

And so too we are to love Him...

As the Father hath loved me, so have I loved you: continue ye in my love.

If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father's commandments, and abide in his love.

John 15:9-10

And we do that by obeying Him. To receive His love is not an unconditional position is it. We must remain in His love by our heart and actions don't we sisters.

And so too we are to love God's children especially and all people!

A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another.
John 13:34

But as touching brotherly love ye need not that I write unto you: for ye yourselves are taught of God to love one another.
1 Thessalonians 4:9

Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God.
1 John 4:7

No man hath seen God at any time. If we love one another, God dwelleth in us, and his love is perfected in us.
1 John 4:12

It is such a large subject in the Word and specifically for godly women they even get more specific commands to love their husbands and children.

That they may teach the young women to be sober, to love their husbands, to love their children,
Titus 2:4

Just a good subject to ponder on often and obey Him in it!

Of course our love for God must be first above all people and we do not love the world and the things in it. We abhor all evil.

Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.

For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.

And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever.

1 John 2:15-17

I was listening to scripture as I washed dishes and this stood out to me too...

If he hath wronged thee, or oweth thee ought, put that on mine account;

I Paul have written it with mine own hand, I will repay it: albeit I do not say to thee how thou owest unto me even thine own self besides.

Yea, brother, let me have joy of thee in the Lord: refresh my bowels in the Lord.

Philemon 1:18-20

A practical example of brotherly love on display for us to learn from! It's encouraging and precious. God's ways are very good!

Well I have had a busy day here so will go now and finish up and get some rest. I hope you keep striving on wherever you are and no matter what! Love to you sisters, in His name.

Today's Edification (14 November 2024)

Hello sisters!

I am back in the name of the Lord to edify you in the Word! And encourage you to keep pressing on as godly women in your duties!

And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him.
Colossians 3:17

Jesus our Saviour is our everything! It surely is a high calling to bear His name. We have so much to be thankful for in Him.

I was thinking about sharing scriptures on peace and was thinking of the ultimate peace we have through Christ so I share this long scripture on this glorious truth!

For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.

Wherefore remember, that ye being in time past Gentiles in the flesh, who are called Uncircumcision by that which is called the Circumcision in the flesh made by hands;

That at that time ye were without Christ, being aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope, and without God in the world:

But now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ.

For he is our peace, who hath made both one, and hath broken down the middle wall of partition between us;

Having abolished in his flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments contained in ordinances; for to make in himself of twain one new man, so making peace;

And that he might reconcile both unto God in one body by the cross, having slain the enmity thereby:

And came and preached peace to you which were afar off, and to them that were nigh.

For through him we both have access by one Spirit unto the Father.

Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellowcitizens with the saints, and of the household of God;

And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone;

In whom all the building fitly framed together groweth unto an holy temple in the Lord:

In whom ye also are builded together for an habitation of God through the Spirit.

Ephesians 2:10-22

Finding peace with God for eternity is so important isn't it. He is good which leads us to repentance to Him.

So may we be diligent to remain in His peace.

Wherefore, beloved, seeing that ye look for such things, be diligent that ye may be found of him in peace, without spot, and blameless.
2 Peter 3:14

And seek to live peaceable with those around us and especially with the saints, as there always will be some conflict between truth and error but as much as possible we do our part to live at peace while obeying the Lord. We were told we would be hated and enemies of our own households even. We surely will not be just going along with everything that the world does. We obey God first! But we can do it in the most peaceable way.

But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be intreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy.
James 3:17

Let him eschew evil, and do good; let him seek peace, and ensue it.
1 Peter 3:11

For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty.
1 Timothy 2:2

Flee also youthful lusts: but follow righteousness, faith, charity, peace, with them that call on the Lord out of a pure heart.
2 Timothy 2:22

Now the Lord of peace himself give you peace always by all means. The Lord be with you all.
2 Thessalonians 3:16

Finally, brethren, farewell. Be perfect, be of good comfort, be of one mind, live in peace; and the God of love and peace shall be with you.
2 Corinthians 13:11

So many more I could share, it's a big subject and important part of our life in Christ! Good to ponder on it and live in it.

It is unbelievably precious to know the truth of the gospel in Christ. So many are lost and hopeless without Christ and we share the hope as we can but sadly most just simply don't want it. But God must be glorified above man. Our obedience to Him comes first and foremost. It's all in His hands, just as we, His children, are also.

My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me:

And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.

My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father's hand.

John 10:27-29

I had bus travel today and so are back to some different duties for however long. One day at a time though. It's good to just take what comes but also good to think ahead as that surely can be wisdom too.

She looketh well to the ways of her household, and eateth not the bread of idleness.
Proverbs 31:27

Well I will go now and Lord willing be back tomorrow. Keep pressing on sisters! The battle is before us. So may we keep running our race with patience! Looking unto Jesus our Saviour!

Mercy unto you, and peace, and love, be multiplied.
Jude 1:2
