Greetings sisters!
I hope you're doing well wherever you are on God's earth! We are just as wheat living among the tares until the harvest. We are His work.
For we are labourers together with God: ye are God's husbandry, ye are God's building.1 Corinthians 3:9
Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ:Philippians 1:6
We are but clay in His hands. So let us humbly keep in our place before Him and others too. And may He receive all the glory!
I'm sharing this scripture for us to ponder today...
And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge;
And to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to patience godliness;
And to godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness charity.
For if these things be in you, and abound, they make you that ye shall neither be barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.
But he that lacketh these things is blind, and cannot see afar off, and hath forgotten that he was purged from his old sins.
Wherefore the rather, brethren, give diligence to make your calling and election sure: for if ye do these things, ye shall never fall:
2 Peter 1:5-10
We surely don't want to be barren or unfruitful. Elsewhere we have been taught what happens to trees that don't bring forth fruit, or any good fruit but bad ones.
And I was thinking about that quality of temperance we are to have. Yes we don't just let our flesh go wild but keep ourselves continually in check. It is a fruit of the Spirit as well. We must be in control of our actions. This scripture comes to mind too...
He that hath no rule over his own spirit is like a city that is broken down, and without walls.Proverbs 25:28
And also watching our steps and paths.
Order my steps in thy word: and let not any iniquity have dominion over me.Psalm 119:133
Make me to go in the path of thy commandments; for therein do I delight.Psalm 119:35
He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake.Psalm 23:3
Ponder the path of thy feet, and let all thy ways be established. Turn not to the right hand nor to the left: remove thy foot from evil.
Proverbs 4:26-27
Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.Proverbs 4:23
Indeed, let us do so! There's so much true wisdom in the Word! Let us keep seeking it from Him!
Hold fast in the truth sisters, in the fear of God. Love and mercy to you in Jesus' name. Strive on!
