Today's Edification (18 May 2026)

Hello sisters!

I hope you are doing well today and pressing on by faith!

We read about quite a few women in the Word of God. And of course some are bad examples and others are good examples for us.

We do not want to be like these...

But there was none like unto Ahab, which did sell himself to work wickedness in the sight of the LORD, whom Jezebel his wife stirred up.
1 Kings 21:25

For it came to pass, when Solomon was old, that his wives turned away his heart after other gods: and his heart was not perfect with the LORD his God, as was the heart of David his father.
1 Kings 11:4

But we can be faithful and do good like these women were which we can read about today so long ago...

Now there was at Joppa a certain disciple named Tabitha, which by interpretation is called Dorcas: this woman was full of good works and almsdeeds which she did.
And it came to pass in those days, that she was sick, and died: whom when they had washed, they laid her in an upper chamber.
And forasmuch as Lydda was nigh to Joppa, and the disciples had heard that Peter was there, they sent unto him two men, desiring him that he would not delay to come to them.
Then Peter arose and went with them. When he was come, they brought him into the upper chamber: and all the widows stood by him weeping, and shewing the coats and garments which Dorcas made, while she was with them.
But Peter put them all forth, and kneeled down, and prayed; and turning him to the body said, Tabitha, arise. And she opened her eyes: and when she saw Peter, she sat up.
And he gave her his hand, and lifted her up, and when he had called the saints and widows, presented her alive.
And it was known throughout all Joppa; and many believed in the Lord.
Acts 9:36-42

There were also women looking on afar off: among whom was Mary Magdalene, and Mary the mother of James the less and of Joses, and Salome; (Who also, when he was in Galilee, followed him, and ministered unto him;) and many other women which came up with him unto Jerusalem.
Mark 15:40-41

And he turned to the woman, and said unto Simon, Seest thou this woman? I entered into thine house, thou gavest me no water for my feet: but she hath washed my feet with tears, and wiped them with the hairs of her head. Thou gavest me no kiss: but this woman since the time I came in hath not ceased to kiss my feet. My head with oil thou didst not anoint: but this woman hath anointed my feet with ointment. Wherefore I say unto thee, Her sins, which are many, are forgiven; for she loved much: but to whom little is forgiven, the same loveth little. And he said unto her, Thy sins are forgiven.
Luke 7:44-48

Let not a widow be taken into the number under threescore years old, having been the wife of one man, Well reported of for good works; if she have brought up children, if she have lodged strangers, if she have washed the saints' feet, if she have relieved the afflicted, if she have diligently followed every good work.
1 Timothy 5:9-10

Now it came to pass, as they went, that he entered into a certain village: and a certain woman named Martha received him into her house. And she had a sister called Mary, which also sat at Jesus' feet, and heard his word.
Luke 10:38-39

I commend unto you Phebe our sister, which is a servant of the church which is at Cenchrea: That ye receive her in the Lord, as becometh saints, and that ye assist her in whatsoever business she hath need of you: for she hath been a succourer of many, and of myself also. Greet Priscilla and Aquila my helpers in Christ Jesus: Who have for my life laid down their own necks: unto whom not only I give thanks, but also all the churches of the Gentiles.
Romans 16:1-4

There are many more examples of course for us to ponder and be encouraged or learn from. But of course our Saviour is our perfect example to look to and follow! Let's do that sisters.

Let us keep pressing on in the lives the Lord has us in too. That's what we need to be faithful in and of course not partake of evil but there's plenty of good, pure, and true things to keep busy in. No it may not be what we feel like but we need to learn to do everything unto the Lord with joy! His grace is sufficient for us! He has done so much for us. We have so many blessings!

Today's Edification (17 May 2026)

Greetings sisters!

God's will is that we have another day on this earth to serve Him! He owns us so let us go forth in our day, doing what pleases Him! He is good! We sure need His help too. We are blessed to have His written Word to guide us!

I was pondering here how it says that God is the giver of what we have.

Charge them that are rich in this world, that they be not highminded, nor trust in uncertain riches, but in the living God, who giveth us richly all things to enjoy; That they do good, that they be rich in good works, ready to distribute, willing to communicate; Laying up in store for themselves a good foundation against the time to come, that they may lay hold on eternal life.
1 Timothy 6:17-19

And we know this too in what happened to Job...

And said, Naked came I out of my mother's womb, and naked shall I return thither: the LORD gave, and the LORD hath taken away; blessed be the name of the LORD. In all this Job sinned not, nor charged God foolishly.
Job 1:21-22

All the physical blessings we have are the Lord's which He gave. And He can take them away too and we will be thankful and content for He knows we have need of food and clothing.

Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, Wherewithal shall we be clothed? (For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things. But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.
Matthew 6:31-34

May our treasures and heart be above!

If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God. Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth. For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God.
Colossians 3:1-3

And seek not ye what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink, neither be ye of doubtful mind.
For all these things do the nations of the world seek after: and your Father knoweth that ye have need of these things.
But rather seek ye the kingdom of God; and all these things shall be added unto you.
Fear not, little flock; for it is your Father's good pleasure to give you the kingdom.
Sell that ye have, and give alms; provide yourselves bags which wax not old, a treasure in the heavens that faileth not, where no thief approacheth, neither moth corrupteth.

Luke 12:29-37

Yes we do want to be ready for our Lord and Master at all times. We know not when our soul will be required of us. That great day of judgment is coming. May we be found of Him in peace in Christ. But we must strive on and follow Him while we are on this earth, and fight off the flesh and all dangers to our souls.

Today's Edification (16 May 2026)

Hello sisters!

A new day is here for us to live unto the One who loved us and died for us! The glory be unto His name! He has done all things well!

Only the Lord truly satisfies us. I hope you are content and thankful to keep humbly serving Him in the life He has called you. We all need to work on what pleases Him and deny our flesh.

For I have satiated the weary soul, and I have replenished every sorrowful soul. Upon this I awaked, and beheld; and my sleep was sweet unto me.
Jeremiah 31:25-26

O God, thou art my God; early will I seek thee: my soul thirsteth for thee, my flesh longeth for thee in a dry and thirsty land, where no water is;
To see thy power and thy glory, so as I have seen thee in the sanctuary.
Because thy lovingkindness is better than life, my lips shall praise thee.
Thus will I bless thee while I live: I will lift up my hands in thy name.
My soul shall be satisfied as with marrow and fatness; and my mouth shall praise thee with joyful lips:
Psalm 63:1-5

And I will satiate the soul of the priests with fatness, and my people shall be satisfied with my goodness, saith the LORD.
Jeremiah 31:14

The fear of the LORD tendeth to life: and he that hath it shall abide satisfied; he shall not be visited with evil.
Proverbs 19:23

What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's.

We are His creations and His children. We are not our own. Let us submit to His authority willingly. His ways are good!

Today's Edification (15 May 2026)

Hello sisters!

I'm able to drop in again to edify and share a little more as the Lord has allowed.

These are good scriptures to encourage us to look forward and strive on with our heart and mind on the Lord and things above not our past or things we don't care for here. What's ahead is way more value than anything on this earth.

And Jesus said unto him, Foxes have holes, and birds of the air have nests; but the Son of man hath not where to lay his head.
And he said unto another, Follow me. But he said, Lord, suffer me first to go and bury my father.
Jesus said unto him, Let the dead bury their dead: but go thou and preach the kingdom of God.
And another also said, Lord, I will follow thee; but let me first go bid them farewell, which are at home at my house.
And Jesus said unto him, No man, having put his hand to the plough, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God.
Luke 9:58-62

In that day, he which shall be upon the housetop, and his stuff in the house, let him not come down to take it away: and he that is in the field, let him likewise not return back. Remember Lot's wife. Whosoever shall seek to save his life shall lose it; and whosoever shall lose his life shall preserve it.
Luke 17:31-33

But godliness with contentment is great gain. For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out. And having food and raiment let us be therewith content.
1 Timothy 6:6-8

Good to remember what really matters and it is not all the stuff around us on this earth. Let us keep pressing on for eternity knowing we will face the Lord alone with nothing and no one else.

Labour not for the meat which perisheth, but for that meat which endureth unto everlasting life, which the Son of man shall give unto you: for him hath God the Father sealed.
John 6:27

Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment?
Matthew 6:25

May we keep seeking that which is above while we occupy on this earth in good things that please Him.

Today's Edification (14 May 2026)

Greetings sisters!

The Lord is faithful and merciful again to us another day! May we also be faithful to Him and merciful to those around us!

Thy mercy, O LORD, is in the heavens; and thy faithfulness reacheth unto the clouds.

Thy righteousness is like the great mountains; thy judgments are a great deep: O LORD, thou preservest man and beast.
How excellent is thy lovingkindness, O God! therefore the children of men put their trust under the shadow of thy wings.
They shall be abundantly satisfied with the fatness of thy house; and thou shalt make them drink of the river of thy pleasures.
For with thee is the fountain of life: in thy light shall we see light.
O continue thy lovingkindness unto them that know thee; and thy righteousness to the upright in heart.
Psalm 36:5-10

It is so encouraging to think on the Lord and all His goodness. We only have hope because of Him.

The LORD taketh pleasure in them that fear him, in those that hope in his mercy.
Psalm 147:11

Blessed is the man that trusteth in the LORD, and whose hope the LORD is. For he shall be as a tree planted by the waters, and that spreadeth out her roots by the river, and shall not see when heat cometh, but her leaf shall be green; and shall not be careful in the year of drought, neither shall cease from yielding fruit.
Jeremiah 17:7-8

This I recall to my mind, therefore have I hope.
It is of the LORD'S mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not.
They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness.
The LORD is my portion, saith my soul; therefore will I hope in him.
The LORD is good unto them that wait for him, to the soul that seeketh him.
It is good that a man should both hope and quietly wait for the salvation of the LORD.
Lamentations 3:21-26

May His goodness always lead us to repentance and obedience towards Him. He is worthy of so much!

Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created.
Revelation 4:11

Today's Edification (13 May 2026)

Greetings sisters!

I hope you are pressing on in the Lord wherever He has you serving. We had no choice where and when we came into this world. But we do have choices to make in our lives, very many every day. We want to make the right choices, don't we sisters. The Lord and His Word guides us directly in so many ways. And then we make decisions based on His Word also. We learn to discern good from evil also.

But strong meat belongeth to them that are of full age, even those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil.
Hebrews 5:14

Let us continue to seek the wisdom in His Word which begins by fearing Him.

By mercy and truth iniquity is purged: and by the fear of the LORD men depart from evil.
Proverbs 16:6

And unto man he said, Behold, the fear of the Lord, that is wisdom; and to depart from evil is understanding.
Job 28:28

The law of the LORD is perfect, converting the soul: the testimony of the LORD is sure, making wise the simple.
The statutes of the LORD are right, rejoicing the heart: the commandment of the LORD is pure, enlightening the eyes.
The fear of the LORD is clean, enduring for ever: the judgments of the LORD are true and righteous altogether.
More to be desired are they than gold, yea, than much fine gold: sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb.
Moreover by them is thy servant warned: and in keeping of them there is great reward.
Psalm 19:7-11

Happy is the man that findeth wisdom, and the man that getteth understanding.
For the merchandise of it is better than the merchandise of silver, and the gain thereof than fine gold.
She is more precious than rubies: and all the things thou canst desire are not to be compared unto her.
Length of days is in her right hand; and in her left hand riches and honour.
Her ways are ways of pleasantness, and all her paths are peace.
She is a tree of life to them that lay hold upon her: and happy is every one that retaineth her.
Proverbs 3:13-18

We want to be seeking after the true wisdom don't we sisters. The wisdom of this world is foolishness with God, so we don't seek after that which is highly esteemed among men. This world is passing away but the Lord and His Word and wisdom is for ever! That's what we want to be living for!

Strive on, sisters!

Love unto you in Jesus who first loved us and laid down His own life for us. What a precious gift to be thankful for! Glory to God!

Today's Edification (12 May 2026)

Greetings sisters!

Another day of His mercies is here! We get to live, and serve Him who loved us and died for us! His truth makes us free!

Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free....If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.
John 8:31-32,36

And it gives us hope!

And not only they, but ourselves also, which have the firstfruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting for the adoption, to wit, the redemption of our body. For we are saved by hope: but hope that is seen is not hope: for what a man seeth, why doth he yet hope for? But if we hope for that we see not, then do we with patience wait for it.
Romans 8:23-25

That by two immutable things, in which it was impossible for God to lie, we might have a strong consolation, who have fled for refuge to lay hold upon the hope set before us: Which hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and stedfast, and which entereth into that within the veil;
Hebrews 6:18-19

For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope.
Romans 15:4

Yes the precious promises laid up for us if we endure are our hope! Christ is our hope! And one day we may be with Him if we continue in the faith.

And you, that were sometime alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now hath he reconciled In the body of his flesh through death, to present you holy and unblameable and unreproveable in his sight: If ye continue in the faith grounded and settled, and be not moved away from the hope of the gospel, which ye have heard, and which was preached to every creature which is under heaven; whereof I Paul am made a minister;
Colossians 1:21-23

Yes let us remember who we were and where we have come from. His mercy on us is very great. Glory to God for a wonderful Saviour! His grace is sufficient for us. How thankful we are for all He has done. Let us press on, rejoicing in Him!

Hold fast in the truth, sisters! We do have to be on guard and keep fighting as we haven't finished our race yet! Let us be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might!

Today's Edification (11 May 2026)

Greetings sisters!

I'm back to share some edifying for us in the Lord! We must keep our minds on eternal things and not get wrapped up down here, though we do need to do many physical things which do please the Lord also.

The Lord teaches us to be generous doesn't He. It is good to provide for our own needs so others don't have to for a start and then as we see needs around us we should give of our substance or even things like time as well. The Lord knows each of our situations too and what we can and can't do! So let us be faithful in little and in all things and content also in situations we cannot change.

Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.
Luke 6:38

I have shewed you all things, how that so labouring ye ought to support the weak, and to remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he said, It is more blessed to give than to receive.
Acts 20:35

He that keepeth the commandment keepeth his own soul; but he that despiseth his ways shall die. He that hath pity upon the poor lendeth unto the LORD; and that which he hath given will he pay him again.
Proverbs 19:16-17

And if any man will sue thee at the law, and take away thy coat, let him have thy cloke also. And whosoever shall compel thee to go a mile, go with him twain. Give to him that asketh thee, and from him that would borrow of thee turn not thou away.

Neither did we eat any man's bread for nought; but wrought with labour and travail night and day, that we might not be chargeable to any of you:
Not because we have not power, but to make ourselves an ensample unto you to follow us.
For even when we were with you, this we commanded you, that if any would not work, neither should he eat.
For we hear that there are some which walk among you disorderly, working not at all, but are busybodies.
Now them that are such we command and exhort by our Lord Jesus Christ, that with quietness they work, and eat their own bread.
But ye, brethren, be not weary in well doing.
And if any man obey not our word by this epistle, note that man, and have no company with him, that he may be ashamed.
Yet count him not as an enemy, but admonish him as a brother.
2 Thessalonians 3:6-15

These are the Lord's words for us to live by. We are blessed to have so much guidance! There's so much more on this and similar subjects in His Word. We aren't to love this world or the things in it including money. There's a lot of admonishments on the dangers and sins of covetousness. We are to be content with food and clothing yet the Lord provides us so much more. May our affections and treasures be above where our Lord is!

Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal: But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal: For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.
Matthew 6:19-21

Today's Edification (10 May 2026)

Hello sisters!

To God be the glory on this new day He gave to us! I hope you are doing well and pressing on in the faith and truth and growing in the knowledge of God.

I'm sharing this scripture to encourage us in righteousness and holiness.

Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not.
Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.
And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure.
Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law.
And ye know that he was manifested to take away our sins; and in him is no sin.
Whosoever abideth in him sinneth not: whosoever sinneth hath not seen him, neither known him.
Little children, let no man deceive you: he that doeth righteousness is righteous, even as he is righteous.
He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.
Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.
In this the children of God are manifest, and the children of the devil: whosoever doeth not righteousness is not of God, neither he that loveth not his brother.
1 John 3:1-10

We do have a high calling to be perfect and blameless. We must keep striving for it and doing all we can to keep ourselves pure unto Christ.

Wherefore, beloved, seeing that ye look for such things, be diligent that ye may be found of him in peace, without spot, and blameless.
2 Peter 3:14

And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.
1 Thessalonians 5:23

Praise God for our Saviour and His cleansing and that we can be forgiven.

My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous:
And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world.
And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments.
He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.
But whoso keepeth his word, in him verily is the love of God perfected: hereby know we that we are in him.
He that saith he abideth in him ought himself also so to walk, even as he walked.
1 John 2:1-6

Today's Edification (9 May 2026)

Greetings sister saints!

A good day of His many mercies is here! We have a Saviour and His Word and precious promises! And He is providing us food and clothing and so much more!

Nevertheless he left not himself without witness, in that he did good, and gave us rain from heaven, and fruitful seasons, filling our hearts with food and gladness.
Acts 14:17

But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you; That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust.
Matthew 5:44-45

He is perfect and may we seek to always walk in His ways. They are good and ways of peace!

It's always good to refresh in the ways we are to have as women too. I was pondering on sobriety and shamefacedness.

In like manner also, that women adorn themselves in modest apparel, with shamefacedness and sobriety; not with broided hair, or gold, or pearls, or costly array;...Notwithstanding she shall be saved in childbearing, if they continue in faith and charity and holiness with sobriety.

We are to be in control of our actions at all times and not let the flesh or even substances control us.

That they may teach the young women to be sober, to love their husbands, to love their children,
Titus 2:4

A lot of scripture on it really...

Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world;
Titus 2:12

Wherefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and hope to the end for the grace that is to be brought unto you at the revelation of Jesus Christ;
1 Peter 1:13

But the end of all things is at hand: be ye therefore sober, and watch unto prayer.
1 Peter 4:7

Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:
1 Peter 5:8

Temperance is a fruit of the Spirit also.

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.
Galatians 5:22-23

All things are lawful unto me, but all things are not expedient: all things are lawful for me, but I will not be brought under the power of any.
1 Corinthians 6:12

But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway.
1 Corinthians 9:27

And shamefaced reminds me of meekness and humility as well.

But let it be the hidden man of the heart, in that which is not corruptible, even the ornament of a meek and quiet spirit, which is in the sight of God of great price.
1 Peter 3:4

Likewise, ye younger, submit yourselves unto the elder. Yea, all of you be subject one to another, and be clothed with humility: for God resisteth the proud, and giveth grace to the humble.
1 Peter 5:5

And that 1 Timothy scripture also mentions not adorning our bodies externally with what we put on but instead with good works and to have shamefacedness and sobriety. It is good to have so much guidance as to what pleases Him as we sure don't want to follow our flesh.

We need a lot of wisdom in navigating this life too. It begins with fearing God and much falls into place when we do and when we love Him above all.

Today's Edification (8 May 2026)

Greetings sisters!

God has given us another day. Hopefully we can be doing well at redeeming the time and being faithful in all we need to be. We want to keep pressing on diligently in all we should and need to.

Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.
1 Corinthians 15:58

And that includes doing every day simple duties that need doing too, including washing dishes and clothes! We know the Lord doesn't want us to be slothful or leaving the work to others etc.

The slothful man roasteth not that which he took in hunting: but the substance of a diligent man is precious.
Proverbs 12:27

He also that is slothful in his work is brother to him that is a great waster.
Proverbs 18:9

Slothfulness casteth into a deep sleep; and an idle soul shall suffer hunger.
Proverbs 19:15

The desire of the slothful killeth him; for his hands refuse to labour. He coveteth greedily all the day long: but the righteous giveth and spareth not.
Proverbs 21:25-26

I went by the field of the slothful, and by the vineyard of the man void of understanding;
And, lo, it was all grown over with thorns, and nettles had covered the face thereof, and the stone wall thereof was broken down.
Then I saw, and considered it well: I looked upon it, and received instruction.
Yet a little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to sleep:
So shall thy poverty come as one that travelleth; and thy want as an armed man.
Proverbs 24:30-34

By much slothfulness the building decayeth; and through idleness of the hands the house droppeth through.
Ecclesiastes 10:18

And we desire that every one of you do shew the same diligence to the full assurance of hope unto the end: That ye be not slothful, but followers of them who through faith and patience inherit the promises.
Hebrews 6:11-12

Keep being faithful in whatever duties the Lord has given you, sisters. We know that includes being faithful in the small things as well. They all add up!

Watch ye, stand fast in the faith, quit you like men, be strong. Let all your things be done with charity.
1 Corinthians 16:13-14

Today's Edification (7 May 2026)

Hello sisters!

I hope and pray we are all seeking to be godly holy women of God. He is our Father and we are sisters in the Lord our Saviour who died for us. It is a precious gift to know the truth, and to be children of God. We don't want to take it lightly do we. It is worth losing all for and we know we must strive for the narrow way.

Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto treasure hid in a field; the which when a man hath found, he hideth, and for joy thereof goeth and selleth all that he hath, and buyeth that field. Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto a merchant man, seeking goodly pearls: Who, when he had found one pearl of great price, went and sold all that he had, and bought it.
Matthew 13:44-46

Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.
For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: and whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it.
For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?
For the Son of man shall come in the glory of his Father with his angels; and then he shall reward every man according to his works.
Matthew 16:24-27

And he said unto them, Take heed, and beware of covetousness: for a man's life consisteth not in the abundance of the things which he possesseth.

And he thought within himself, saying, What shall I do, because I have no room where to bestow my fruits?

But God said unto him, Thou fool, this night thy soul shall be required of thee: then whose shall those things be, which thou hast provided?
So is he that layeth up treasure for himself, and is not rich toward God.
And he said unto his disciples, Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat; neither for the body, what ye shall put on.
The life is more than meat, and the body is more than raiment.
Luke 12:15-23

We do need to be careful living in this world not to get swept up in it or its affairs. May we keep everything in perspective too, sisters. Many things that may irritate us don't really matter in light of eternity. Think of the account of Mary and Martha. We are to have much patience and longsuffering. The Lord and His grace are sufficient for us. But yes, things may grieve us when we see the evils that are done to others and especially to the innocent. But God sees and He will avenge. As for us, we love those who do evil to us. We are to pray for them and bless them and certainly forgive. God's ways are of peace and mercy. May He help us to keep walking and growing in them!
