Scripture, Creation, and Providence

Greetings today sisters!

Grace be with you, mercy, and peace, from God the Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of the Father, in truth and love.

2 John 1:3

I have a few bits and pieces to edify us all today. God and Christ are the centre of our lives and so all we do points back to Him and glorifies Him amen sisters. Without Him we are nothing! Glory to Him!

I was reading this the other day and it definitely makes you look at your own life and make sure your aren't complaining even in your heart in the slightest.

Now these things were our examples, to the intent we should not lust after evil things, as they also lusted.

Neither be ye idolaters, as were some of them; as it is written, The people sat down to eat and drink, and rose up to play.

Neither let us commit fornication, as some of them committed, and fell in one day three and twenty thousand.

Neither let us tempt Christ, as some of them also tempted, and were destroyed of serpents.

Neither murmur ye, as some of them also murmured, and were destroyed of the destroyer.

Now all these things happened unto them for ensamples: and they are written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the world are come.

Wherefore let him that thinketh he standeth take heed lest he fall.

There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.

Wherefore, my dearly beloved, flee from idolatry.

1 Corinthians 10:6-14

We want to be perfect and blameless don't we sisters. Our Lord has done so very much for us we don't want to sin against Him by murmering or being ungrateful or discontent do we.

Do all things without murmurings and disputings: That ye may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom ye shine as lights in the world;

Philippians 2:14-15

Here's an amazing creation in a grass seed I come across. Look how it's tightly wound into such a shape! I guess it helps it go down into the soil or something. Just another of God's amazing designs on display there!

And a pretty caterpillar on the orange tree (I guess he's eating it though 🙄)...

Tomato seedlings...

For as the earth bringeth forth her bud, and as the garden causeth the things that are sown in it to spring forth; so the Lord God will cause righteousness and praise to spring forth before all the nations.
Isaiah 61:11

And some veggies I picked from the garden....

Praise the Lord for providing and for the amazing creations we get to eat!

Thou visitest the earth, and waterest it: thou greatly enrichest it with the river of God, which is full of water: thou preparest them corn, when thou hast so provided for it.

Thou waterest the ridges thereof abundantly: thou settlest the furrows thereof: thou makest it soft with showers: thou blessest the springing thereof.

Thou crownest the year with thy goodness; and thy paths drop fatness.

They drop upon the pastures of the wilderness: and the little hills rejoice on every side.

The pastures are clothed with flocks; the valleys also are covered over with corn; they shout for joy, they also sing.

Psalm 65:9-13

Grab a plate sisters!

And they continued stedfastly in the apostles' doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers.

And fear came upon every soul: and many wonders and signs were done by the apostles.

And all that believed were together, and had all things common;

And sold their possessions and goods, and parted them to all men, as every man had need.

And they, continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, did eat their meat with gladness and singleness of heart,

Praising God, and having favour with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily such as should be saved.
Acts 2:42-47

And here's a few more awesome pretty flowers on the property that I get to appreciate this time of year! Glory to the Creator!

And little lambie is getting bigger (and going to a new home soon)...

Share a treat sisters....

And a few picture gifts and a scripture from a sister which I am grateful for...

Amen how encouraging to know that the brethren are standing strong in the Lord!

For I rejoiced greatly, when the brethren came and testified of the truth that is in thee, even as thou walkest in the truth. I have no greater joy than to hear that my children walk in truth.
3 John 1:3-4

I shall leave it there sisters. Hope your day goes well (or went well and your next day goes well:-). Either way I hope you all press on and do not be deceived by the lies that abound or be discouraged!

But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus. Now unto God and our Father be glory for ever and ever. Amen.
Philippians 4:19-20

Preserving and Produce

Good day sisters!

I hope, above all, that you are enduring strong in your faith in Christ and being obedient in all things.

"But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you."
Matthew 6:33

"And God said, Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb yielding seed, and the fruit tree yielding fruit after his kind, whose seed is in itself, upon the earth: and it was so."
Genesis 1:11

God has provided all kinds of plants for our use. So today I was just sharing a bit on how we preserved some produce (mostly plums).

This preserving unit had been sitting in our storage shed, unused for about 16 years. We decided to pull it out this year and see if it still worked. It did.

I'm amazed how much fruit a relatively small tree can produce!

"And God said, Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in the which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for meat."
Genesis 1:29

This preserving method has these rubber rings.

And these clips hold the lid on tight till they have cooled and sealed.

You put them in the unit, cover with water and turn it on for an hour.

We did some pears too.
It was a blessing to do. I can vaguely recall doing it when I was much younger but not in a long while. One of the jars had an old label on it from 1999. Now that is a long time ago!

While I was in the process, I sent a pic to my sister in the Lord and she sent it back with this scripture verse she added. Thank you sister:-) You're a hard worker in the gospel!

We know as believers we are to be producing good fruits which are works of the Spirit and obedience. What are the fruits of your life?

"Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat:

Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.

Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.

Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles?

Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit.

A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit.

Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.

Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.

Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven.

Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works?

And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity."
Matthew 7:13-23

May that not be any of you reading this. I pray you are doing the will of the Father.

And tonight we had the first corn...

Eaten fresh as can be, half an hour from picking.

And just another great blessing...fresh eggs.

And this funny little hen didn't want me to get them today:-)

And a yummy yeast cake I made some days ago.

Made with fresh eggs, milk, honey, and lemon.

So that is a few bits and pieces of my keeper at home things I got to do. Maybe for some of you it was interesting and refreshing to see. The Lord has blessed so many of us with great abundance. Praise His Name!

I love this scripture...

"Although the fig tree shall not blossom, neither shall fruit be in the vines; the labour of the olive shall fail, and the fields shall yield no meat; the flock shall be cut off from the fold, and there shall be no herd in the stalls:

Yet I will rejoice in the Lord, I will joy in the God of my salvation."
Habakkuk 3:17-18

Amen!

Our hope and joy shouldn't come from things in this life.

As Jesus said....

"The life is more than meat, and the body is more than raiment."
Luke 12:23

"For we know that if our earthly house of this tabernacle were dissolved, we have a building of God, an house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens."
2 Corinthians 5:1

So may we set our affections and hopes on things above and value what truly matters.

Motives and a Harvest to Come

Greetings in the Lord!

I hope this finds you well and pressing on to the hope set before us.

Recently I've been examining some of my own motives and changing my course of action accordingly. It's just so amazing the conscience and Spirit that we have been given. That conviction that comes when you know something isn't quite right even if it is something supposedly "very minor". God has given us great guidance in the Word and through our consciences that all are without excuse. Of course we can dull our consciences and quench the Spirit by continuing to go against their convictions.

The outcome being we will kill those things off.

"Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron;"
1 Timothy 4:2

As a godly woman I want to be sharpening and listening to my conscience.

"But strong meat belongeth to them that are of full age, even those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil."
Hebrews 5:14

We all have the flesh to deal with but we have direction by the Spirit to lead us into all truth and pure and holy ways.

That's my quick thought for the day.

"Nevertheless he left not himself without witness, in that he did good, and gave us rain from heaven, and fruitful seasons, filling our hearts with food and gladness."
Acts 14:17

I also wanted to share some of the bounty that is to come from our vegetable garden and what providence the Lord has given. I look forward to cooking with these things. It's mid summer here and really it's been pretty cool so far just a few really hot days here and there.

Some of you might have different names for some of these but I'm sure you can guess what they are.

"Give us this day our daily bread."
Matthew 6:11

Praise God for providing...

Corn...

Cucumbers...

Zucchini...

Tomatoes...

Parsley...

Pumpkins...

Capsicums...

Watermelons...

Eggplants...

Carrots...

And we already have onions and garlic stored up to use.

And there's lots of fruit too...

What a blessing from the Father!

What are you sowing and reaping in spiritual things?

"Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.

For he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption; but he that soweth to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting.

And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.

As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith."
Galatians 6:7-10

The Word, Creation, and Keeper at Home

I came across these precious Words of Christ, "I am the resurrection, and the life:"...

"Now Bethany was nigh unto Jerusalem, about fifteen furlongs off:

And many of the Jews came to Martha and Mary, to comfort them concerning their brother.

Then Martha, as soon as she heard that Jesus was coming, went and met him: but Mary sat still in the house.

Then said Martha unto Jesus, Lord, if thou hadst been here, my brother had not died.

But I know, that even now, whatsoever thou wilt ask of God, God will give it thee.

Jesus saith unto her, Thy brother shall rise again.

Martha saith unto him, I know that he shall rise again in the resurrection at the last day.

Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live:

And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this?

She saith unto him, Yea, Lord: I believe that thou art the Christ, the Son of God, which should come into the world."
(John 11:18-27)

Amen!

And then I was later reading this and thought it was related and appropriate reminder that we are not to live unto ourselves but unto Christ.

"For the love of Christ constraineth us; because we thus judge, that if one died for all, then were all dead:

And that he died for all, that they which live should not henceforth live unto themselves, but unto him which died for them, and rose again."
(2 Corinthians 5:14-15)

---

I share some pics from my last few days. It's been busy with animal care and catching up on housework...still haven't caught up on that but I am getting there.

I know they are common, though we might not always see them, but how amazing is a bird's nest? I don't think we could even do it it's so intricate. How marvellous have the birds been created that they can do this to raise young.

I found this one in the orchard in a fruit tree. It's lined with wool. I saw the babies fly out when I got too close but they were obviously ready to go.

But the parents weren't too keen on me being there.

Waiting for the harvest...

...of pears,

...and apples,

...and cherry tomatoes.

Reminds me of how we can sow seeds of truth and then we don't know how or if they will grow and produce good fruit or not. God knows and He alone gives the increase.

"Who then is Paul, and who is Apollos, but ministers by whom ye believed, even as the Lord gave to every man?

I have planted, Apollos watered; but God gave the increase.

So then neither is he that planteth any thing, neither he that watereth; but God that giveth the increase."
(1 Corinthians 3:5-7)

Amen, let us, especially as women, trust all to the Lord of what is going on in the hearts around us. We just do our bit faithfully.

This is an interesting flowering bush. The flowers feel like wax...and the air around smells like it too. Another interesting creation of God. (It's called Geraldton Wax.)

Some eucalyptus flowers I came across.

Sweet little chicks peering out from under mummy hen.

It looks like the dog is watching the sunset...but I think only mankind can appreciate the beauty of that. He's probably looking for birds.

Last night I made pizza for dinner...and it made enough to last tonight also. We never know how many brothers will turn up to eat so it's great when you can have a night off cooking and do something else that needs to be done. I'm sure all the keeper at home cooks would agree.

And nothing like farm fresh eggs...they are amazing creations too and a blessing to use for our food. They go well on pizza too:-)

"Charge them that are rich in this world, that they be not highminded, nor trust in uncertain riches, but in the living God, who giveth us richly all things to enjoy;"
(1 Timothy 6:17)

All you ladies have a blessed day! Strive on in Christ and set your affection on things above...even while going about the necessary everyday things of life we need to live.

Love in Him,
