Today's Edification (15 July 2024)

Salutations to my sisters worldwide!

We are all one in Him if we are His children!

For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus.

For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ.

There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus.

Galatians 3:26-28

And we are physically all of one blood...humans.

And hath made of one blood all nations of men for to dwell on all the face of the earth, and hath determined the times before appointed, and the bounds of their habitation;

That they should seek the Lord, if haply they might feel after him, and find him, though he be not far from every one of us:

Acts 17:26-27

I was pondering how this life isn't about us. Sure we are a big part of His creation and plan but it's about Him and His glory!

I am the LORD: that is my name: and my glory will I not give to another, neither my praise to graven images.
Isaiah 42:8
Not unto us, O LORD, not unto us, but unto thy name give glory, for thy mercy, and for thy truth's sake.
Psalm 115:1

Remember the whole duty of man...fear God and keep His commandments! And we are to seek first His kingdom and righteousness. We don't want to lose focus or be too human centered do we.

I'm really thankful for the guidance God gave us in His Word through instruction! Let us take that seriously!

Take fast hold of instruction; let her not go: keep her; for she is thy life.
Proverbs 4:13
Hear instruction, and be wise, and refuse it not.
Proverbs 8:33
Hear counsel, and receive instruction, that thou mayest be wise in thy latter end.
Proverbs 19:20

We don't want to be like this...

But unto the wicked God saith, What hast thou to do to declare my statutes, or that thou shouldest take my covenant in thy mouth? Seeing thou hatest instruction, and castest my words behind thee.
Psalm 50:16-17
And they have turned unto me the back, and not the face: though I taught them, rising up early and teaching them, yet they have not hearkened to receive instruction.
Jeremiah 32:33

But they obeyed not, neither inclined their ear, but made their neck stiff, that they might not hear, nor receive instruction.
Jeremiah 17:23

Nor listening to false 'instruction'...

Cease, my son, to hear the instruction that causeth to err from the words of knowledge.
Proverbs 19:27
That could come through false teachers, false prophets, or false brethren etc via the internet or books or unbiblical associations and fellowship. Let us cleave to His true Word sisters! We won't go wrong. (Yes translations can also be deceiving for sure so we have to watch out there too.)

May God and His Word guide us through this life...
For this God is our God for ever and ever: he will be our guide even unto death.
Psalm 48:14
To give light to them that sit in darkness and in the shadow of death, to guide our feet into the way of peace.
Luke 1:79
Thou shalt guide me with thy counsel, and afterward receive me to glory.
Psalm 73:24
Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.
John 16:13

Let us live by every word of God...

All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:

That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.

2 Timothy 3:16-17

In order to know what is good, sometimes it helps to know the opposites. And we are not surprised to see all these various sins in the world around us and we search our hearts to make sure we don't have any of them.

And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient;

Being filled with all unrighteousness,
fornication,
wickedness,
covetousness,
maliciousness;
full of envy,
murder,
debate,
deceit,
malignity;
whisperers,
Backbiters,
haters of God,
despiteful,
proud,
boasters,
inventors of evil things,
disobedient to parents,
Without understanding,
covenantbreakers,
without natural affection,
implacable,
unmerciful:

Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them.

Romans 1:28-32

This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.

For men shall be

lovers of their own selves,
covetous,
boasters,
proud,
blasphemers,
disobedient to parents,
unthankful,
unholy,
Without natural affection,
trucebreakers,
false accusers,
incontinent,
fierce,
despisers of those that are good,
Traitors,
heady,
highminded,
lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;
Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof:

from such turn away.

2 Timothy 3:1-5

Those are quite a list. May they not be named among us sisters. We can study those things too, to get a deeper understanding of them so we can avoid them, even one or any part of one, so we can please Him, our Father.

God is good to have given us His Word and that we don't have to try to figure out this life all on our own! We wouldn't be able to! There's still much we don't or can't know, but let us be His humble children knowing that He knows all, is in control, and one day when we are with Him I'm sure we will know more.

Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time: Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.
1 Peter 5:6-7

My newest little niece went to be with Jesus the other day and I grieve especially for her parents and all involved. I know the pain is very great. The breath of life is amazing and so profound when it isn't there when expected.

And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.
Genesis 2:7

How God forms the little ones in the womb is also a miracle.

For thou hast possessed my reins: thou hast covered me in my mother's womb.

I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well.

My substance was not hid from thee, when I was made in secret, and curiously wrought in the lowest parts of the earth.

Thine eyes did see my substance, yet being unperfect; and in thy book all my members were written, which in continuance were fashioned, when as yet there was none of them.

Psalm 139:13-16

And while she never saw life outside the womb, God gave her nine months inside in a safe cozy place. She won't have to see the wicked world one bit or suffer in it like we do. If I endure to the end like I plan to I will get to be with her for eternity with our Lord and all His saints. That's even better than just on this earth. And I know that God is ultimately the giver and taker of life and He knows best, always. We have to submit and surrender. His will be done.

Job is a great example for us...

Then Job arose, and rent his mantle, and shaved his head, and fell down upon the ground, and worshipped,

And said, Naked came I out of my mother's womb, and naked shall I return thither: the LORD gave, and the LORD hath taken away; blessed be the name of the LORD.

In all this Job sinned not, nor charged God foolishly.

Job 1:20-22

He lost his many possessions and ten children, 7 sons and 3 daughters, all at once. And then on top of that, his own health. And I recall his friends came to try to comfort him and sat silent seven days. Yeah sometimes actions can speak louder than words as you don't always know what to say in such sad times.

Now when Job's three friends heard of all this evil that was come upon him, they came every one from his own place; Eliphaz the Temanite, and Bildad the Shuhite, and Zophar the Naamathite: for they had made an appointment together to come to mourn with him and to comfort him.

And when they lifted up their eyes afar off, and knew him not, they lifted up their voice, and wept; and they rent every one his mantle, and sprinkled dust upon their heads toward heaven.

So they sat down with him upon the ground seven days and seven nights, and none spake a word unto him: for they saw that his grief was very great.

Job 2:11-13

While any death is sad as it truly is an enemy, you kind of know that old people will die. But there's something so seemingly out of place when it happens in young life and when a new one is looked forward to. Sin has truly wreeked much havoc in the world and it's consequences have spread to all.

Nevertheless death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over them that had not sinned after the similitude of Adam's transgression, who is the figure of him that was to come.
Romans 5:14

Sin is serious. May we never lose that knowledge. May the fact that even innocent things (children, animals etc) have to suffer, drive that home deep to all. Why is sin taken so lightly today?! Just because God is so merciful to not kill most people instantly on the spot like we deserve when we sin we may tend to think it's not so bad...but it is and it's wages are always death...unless...praise God, unless we repent! There is hope if we sin as we will at times. We have an advocate with the Father in Christ! We know we must forsake sin and be covered by His atoning blood to be cleansed and saved from it's death. But what a groaning world we live in. May His kingdom come soon!

O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory?

The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law.

But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.

1 Corinthians 15:55-58

Let us keep labouring in the Lord as it is not in vain. So much vanity on this earth but it is a joy to labour for the eternal and fight to attain an incorruptible crown. We can have the victory through Christ and take courage as He has overcome the world!

I hope all is well with each of you and you're remembering what is most important in life sisters! It's easy to lose focus if we're not careful and disciplined so let us remember what our duty is and do it with His help to the best of our ability.

Strive on my sisters! Our redemption draws nearer!

Love in the Spirit,

Sister Chayil
