Today's Edification (16 July 2024)

Greetings godly sisters!

I'm coming back to you again in His name. I hope you are striving on in Him on this new day!

I was pondering on the fact of doing things willingly.

Feed the flock of God which is among you, taking the oversight thereof, not by constraint, but willingly; not for filthy lucre, but of a ready mind;
1 Peter 5:2
She seeketh wool, and flax, and worketh willingly with her hands.
Proverbs 31:13
Then the people rejoiced, for that they offered willingly, because with perfect heart they offered willingly to the LORD: and David the king also rejoiced with great joy.
1 Chronicles 29:9
Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver.
2 Corinthians 9:7
These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so.
Acts 17:11
For I know the forwardness of your mind, for which I boast of you to them of Macedonia, that Achaia was ready a year ago; and your zeal hath provoked very many.
2 Corinthians 9:2
For if there be first a willing mind, it is accepted according to that a man hath, and not according to that he hath not.
2 Corinthians 8:12

Willingly obeying Him and having a zeal and readiness of mind in all good works...this we want to have amen sisters! If someone has to keep telling us to do things or to obey God...well there's problems! We want to obey Him willingly. Well in some things our flesh may or will not want to but our spirit does and we keep battling those opposing sides! We can overcome in the Lord!

That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.

For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit.

For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.

Romans 8:4-6

Also pondering how God must always be...1st. While many of God's commands involve how we relate to people, we don't compromise though for them...no matter what. God always is first.

And thou shalt love the LORD thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might.
Deuteronomy 6:5

Ye shall walk after the LORD your God, and fear him, and keep his commandments, and obey his voice, and ye shall serve him, and cleave unto him.
Deuteronomy 13:4

We do not want to provoke Him to jealousy by doing things we should not.

They provoked him to jealousy with strange gods, with abominations provoked they him to anger.
Deuteronomy 32:16
For they provoked him to anger with their high places, and moved him to jealousy with their graven images.
Psalm 78:58
For the LORD thy God is a consuming fire, even a jealous God.
Deuteronomy 4:24
And Judah did evil in the sight of the LORD, and they provoked him to jealousy with their sins which they had committed, above all that their fathers had done.
1 Kings 14:22

God is our Lord and we obey Him and not man if it goes against His ways. In this culture there's so much that is just accepted as normal but is not in line with God's ways. We have to test all things and not be partakers with things we shouldn't be. Abhor evil, cleave to the good. We are to keep ourselves holy and pure to the Lord our God...set apart unto Him as a spotless chaste bride. We cannot love this world nor partake of its carnal or pagan or false religious practices. We need much wisdom to walk through all the decisions and choices we need to make in this life. Some things are black and white in scripture and other things we will learn as we go over time, applying biblical principles and wisdom from experience. We live in a world that is very different from Bible times yet man's heart is the same, wicked, and needing a new one. The culture surely is very far downhill from where it should be, so we do have a long way back to go to be pleasing to Him. But we have His Word and Spirit to guide us so we are blessed. Yeah people may think we're weird or whatever but they are the ones which are far from God and truth. Why would we care what they think? Let us walk the old paths of righteousness and not all the latest and greatest or old sins of man.

We sisters must be about His business first.

And he said unto them, How is it that ye sought me? wist ye not that I must be about my Father's business?
Luke 2:49

We are to seek...first...His kingdom and righteousness. Let us do all things unto Him.

Good verse to ponder...

Wherefore the rather, brethren, give diligence to make your calling and election sure: for if ye do these things, ye shall never fall:
2 Peter 1:10

Hold fast in the faith my sisters and keep pressing on in those times you may feel a little weary! Keep going!

Unfeigned love in Christ,

Sister Chayil
