My Days in God's Creation

Good day sisters!

Today I have a simple picture and scripture post.

Little chicks and their mummy...

I think of this verse when I see a mother hen with her chicks.
"O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, thou that killest the prophets, and stonest them which are sent unto thee, how often would I have gathered thy children together, even as a hen gathereth her chickens under her wings, and ye would not!"
Matthew 23:37
They rejected Christ and all God sent to them. It's sad.

I was organising a few things and found this somewhat older pic I took of shells on the seashore. I thought they were so amazing.

Isn't that beautiful!

Here's a puppy in a tyre...

And flowers in a tyre...
(We sometimes us tyres for protecting young plants.)

I'm just sharing a few of God's creation from around the place here.

There are so many amazing types of leaves and other things that God created.

Round smooth ones...

And long ones...

And prickly ones...

And interesting red tree trunks...

And flowers-to-be....

Here's our fruitful pear tree. You can see there are still more to go.

(I wrote a post on all the fruit we had here

And chickens hanging out under the carob tree. At least it's good shade even if it doesn't bear fruit.

And I thought maybe you would like to hear these birds...they seem to be just enjoying their day and certainly doing what the Lord made them to do. (Of course the rooster had to interrupt their song too:-)

May we sister saints be joyous in our Saviour!

And ready and prepared for His soon return...

....until next time....

Love in Christ,

...from a daughter of God

Finally, brethren, farewell. Be perfect, be of good comfort, be of one mind, live in peace; and the God of love and peace shall be with you.
2 Corinthians 13:11

Recipe - Eggplant Dip

Greetings Titus 2 keepers at home sisters.

Today I wanted to share a recipe here that we have made a lot over the years. It's a good use for eggplants.

(As you can see the recipe looks well used.)

This eggplant felt nice to hold (simple pleasures:-)

It's a blessing to have all these home grown produce to use in the making of it.

There was a little ladybug on the lemon I wanted to use:-)

These herb scissors are good...

Got the crackers ready:-)

Yum...
And I guess you can have it on toast too. It's good for a snack or a light meal.

So that's that...and you have the recipe so no further explanation needed from me.

A Titus 2 Woman: The Younger Women, Part 1

Greetings to my fellow Titus 2 sisters,

I pray you are all striving on in the narrow way, and abiding in Christ producing good fruit.

I wrote earlier on my blog an introduction to this little study or series on Titus 2 and on the roles of the godly older women. Now today it's time to move on to the younger women.

(I think it's fascinating seeing the Greek:-)

Verse 4

Verse 5

Maybe you like to see it too:-) I'm so thankful that we can have the written Word of God so we can live on it.

"But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God."
Matthew 4:4

Not only do we have any number of written copies of the Word, we also have access to deeper detail where we can study better what the original language meant.

So here is Titus 2 verse 4 and 5.

"That they may teach the young women to be sober, to love their husbands, to love their children,
To be discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God be not blasphemed."

Yesterday I wrote about the older women and what responsibilities they have and what character they should be cultivating according to what is fitting for a holy life and according to sound doctrine. They are then supposed to teach and guide the younger women (in age or new to the faith etc).

 "young women"

(if these pics are blurry you can click on them to make them better I think)

An implication that comes from this (the older teaching the younger) is that the young woman ought to be teachable which means she will be humble and soft not proud and hard.

"Likewise, ye younger, submit yourselves unto the elder. Yea, all of you be subject one to another, and be clothed with humility: for God resisteth the proud, and giveth grace to the humble."
1 Peter 5:5
"Reprove not a scorner, lest he hate thee: rebuke a wise man, and he will love thee. Give instruction to a wise man, and he will be yet wiser: teach a just man, and he will increase in learning. The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the holy is understanding."
Proverbs 9:8-10

Today, I thought I'd cover four of the areas mentioned in Titus 2 in relation to the younger women. These are (as translated in the KJV) sober, discreet, chaste, and good. And in the next post on this I will cover all of the rest of the instructions for young women, Lord willing.

"sober"...

There is a whole lot about soberness and having a sound mind in scripture for not only women but for all saints.

"discreet"...

They seem to be similar in meaning. Self control is important. That also goes along with walking in the Spirit and not the flesh.

The world teaches young people to be silly, foolish, and carnal. Man made religion/church teaches the same too. But God's Word teaches them to be sober minded and sensible. That is not popular today. They tell you you have to have fun etc. Of course we can be joyous and happy rejoicing in the Lord and in pure and good ways, as long as we know where to stop and where it becomes lack of self control and into foolishness. Of course what we smile and laugh about too also must be pure and good. Yes to be happy is good...

"A merry heart doeth good like a medicine: but a broken spirit drieth the bones."
Proverbs 17:22

But it also says this...

"It is better to go to the house of mourning, than to go to the house of feasting: for that is the end of all men; and the living will lay it to his heart. Sorrow is better than laughter: for by the sadness of the countenance the heart is made better."
Ecclesiastes 7:2-3
So it must all be balanced. Of course we rejoice in the Lord and give Him praise and thanks.

So a Titus 2 young woman will be sober-minded and self-controlled.

"Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world;"
Titus 2:12

"But the end of all things is at hand: be ye therefore sober, and watch unto prayer."
1 Peter 4:7

I recently wrote a post about another area of self control. You can see that post here if you like.

She should also be...

"chaste"...

It's an important one for a young woman saint in a wicked world. The world is full of the opposite of this...and is impure, unholy, unclean. And there could be many aspects to this and would include holiness in all her ways, to God and towards others.

She would be a holy daughter of the holy God and with His Holy Spirit (if she is born again by the gospel).

"Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing ; and I will receive you, And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty."
2 Corinthians 6:17-18

The Proverbs 7 wicked woman is also the opposite of a godly chaste woman in one area. The godly young woman ought not to be trying to draw attention to herself in any way particularly with men. She will be bashful/shamefaced rather.

I did a post earlier on some of this subject. You can find that here if you like. So as not to say the exact same things you can read that as part of what I write today.

I will also include this well known scripture.

"But let it be the hidden man of the heart, in that which is not corruptible, even the ornament of a meek and quiet spirit, which is in the sight of God of great price. For after this manner in the old time the holy women also, who trusted in God, adorned themselves, being in subjection unto their own husbands:"
1 Peter 3:4-5

Notice it says the holy women of old time adorned themselves with a meek and quiet spirit and with submission to their own husbands. So that is another area a young woman should be holy in.

You can find one of my previous posts on dress for women here. Godly women, young or old, will dress how God commands it. Today we see pride and vanity, seared consciences, open rebellion, lasciviousness, feminism and other sinful ways of women in their dressing and it is not chaste/pure either which a young woman and all women following a holy God ought to have. It is wickedness when instead we as women are to be shamefaced which means...

Which also reminds me of this verse.
"Were they ashamed when they had committed abomination? nay, they were not at all ashamed, neither could they blush: therefore shall they fall among them that fall: in the time of their visitation they shall be cast down, saith the Lord."
Jeremiah 8:12
There is a boldness among young women these days that is not appropriate for a woman professing godliness. It is feminism also. Yes there should be a type of boldness on the Word and truth but not in the wrong way nor getting out of place trying to be equal with men who are the authorities.

Another area of holiness would be she will be obedient to the command to cover her head in line with 1 Corinthians 11. It says that it is shameful for a woman to be uncovered so she will obey.

"good"

Here are a few other uses of that same Greek word. Sometimes the only way to begin to explain what a word means is to look elsewhere in scripture. And the word good seems very general so we can look for some other uses I think to help us to see the truth.

"That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust."
Matthew 5:45

"See that none render evil for evil unto any man ; but ever follow that which is good, both among yourselves, and to all men."
1 Thessalonians 5:15

"As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith."
Galatians 6:10

"Let love be without dissimulation. Abhor that which is evil; cleave to that which is good. Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good."
Romans 12:9,21

Those are all the same Greek word of "agathos". I'll let scripture explain scripture there. It seems to be general goodness. Remembering that the older Titus 2 woman is to be a teacher of "good things".

So I think that's about it from me for today. I know there could be lots more to write on these subjects. I hope perhaps that helped a bit in learning how the younger women saints should be in holy behaviour fitting to who they are as daughters of the King of kings.

I am striving to be that Titus 2 young woman, in age (for now), and striving to be a mature/older woman in the faith.

As always...

Amen!

Fear God my dear Titus 2 sisters!

Next to come soon, the rest of Titus 2:4-5.

Love in Christ,

A Titus 2 Woman: The Older Women

Greetings sisters!

I hope you are all fearing God and pressing on over trials, not compromising, for God's glory.

A few days ago I wrote an introduction to the Titus 2 woman and said I wanted to go through it and study it some more. (If you haven't read my post, you can find it here first.). Today I want to do the next bit and further study this.

There's probably more than 101 ways that we sisters could look at this Titus 2 subject and I could write about it but I did it this way and I hope it can clarify it all for us. It does that for me probably just as much if not more than it might you the reader. I do hope it can bless someone.

I thought that today I would look at the "aged women" (as it is so translated in the KJV). These are to be examples to and teachers of the younger women. To be honest, I don't really know if I am worthy or qualified to speak on this but it's in God's Word and I myself am striving to be a godly mature older woman (in time) and of course there is no reason for any woman not to strive to be those things also. Remember this is sound doctrine.

I believe it mostly refers to a woman's physical age as she would have hopefully learned a lot over the years, learned all the lessons of life sometimes the hard way, and be well grounded in the faith but it could also refer to any mature wise woman who has been in the faith a while even if she isn't really old.

So I thought the next logical thing to examine in "this series" of you like would be the one who is to be teaching before we get to the next section of what they are to be teaching the younger. And I guess teaching can be actual teaching and guidance but also what is observed through seeing how a mature godly woman behaves in all her ways and words...and also seeing what she doesn't do. And of course they will have to be teaching without hypocrisy. So they will be already faithful and obedient to God's commands.

Today, generation after generation are growing more foolish and evil. So there may not be much wisdom left in the worldly aged these days and especially in generations to come. That is sad but we know the world is fading away and going downhill into great darkness. But among the saints there ought to be wisdom because of God's Word, and remember the fear of God is the beginning of wisdom. If people don't fear God then they are foolish.

"The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the holy is understanding."
Proverbs 9:10

But moving on to this Titus 2 aged woman.

What does the Word say she should be like?

"The aged women likewise, that they be in behaviour as becometh holiness, not false accusers, not given to much wine, teachers of good things;"
Titus 2:3

So that verse follows on from this one. "That the aged men be sober, grave, temperate, sound in faith, in charity, in patience." (Titus 2:2)

And we see some of those things taught specifically for women elsewhere. Those are qualities that all saints should have.

We see something similar in this scripture as well (for the wife of a deacon).

"Even so must their wives be grave, not slanderers, sober, faithful in all things."
1 Timothy 3:11

"grave" meaning...

And we see a similar picture here.
"In like manner also, that women adorn themselves in modest apparel, with shamefacedness and sobriety; not with broided hair, or gold, or pearls, or costly array;"
1 Timothy 2:9

The aged woman of Titus 2 doesn't sound dissimilar to this either.

"Let not a widow be taken into the number under threescore years old, having been the wife of one man, Well reported of for good works; if she have brought up children, if she have lodged strangers, if she have washed the saints' feet, if she have relieved the afflicted, if she have diligently followed every good work."
1 Timothy 5:9-10

Moving on to verse 3 of Titus 2. The "aged women" are to...

"be in behaviour as becometh holiness"

I wrote about how Paul is teaching sound doctrine here. And then the characteristics following lay out what is fitting for a woman claiming holiness in Christ. It is her whole life and how she lives it. All she does must be appropriate for one living for a holy, holy, holy God and with the Holy Spirit within; a woman who is first born again and obeying the gospel.

"behaviour" meaning...

"as becometh holiness" means...

And the things following are what those things are...

"not false accusers"

"not given to much wine"

That is self explanatory really. We know from multiple scriptures that drunkenness is sin, as well as lack of self control and instead walking in the flesh and letting things control us.

"given" means...

"teachers of good things"

"That they may teach the young women" (vs 4)

Teaching and passing on wisdom and guidance to the younger women is to be what all godly older/mature women do as it is sound doctrine and what is becoming of a holy woman of God.

Lord willing, soon, I shall be back with the next section from Titus 2 to ponder...and not only ponder but do it and put it into actions in our lives. I was thinking about that great chapter of faith, Hebrews 11...and the people always DID something to show or confirm their faith. May we be likewise.

"But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves."
James 1:22

But I hope each of you will look into these things and study deep in God's Word. These days with technology you can find information on what the original Greek words mean etc so that can help a lot.

Well that is about it from me. I hope and pray you sisters are all striving to be a good example to the believers and the lost and striving daily for truth and right.

"That ye may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom ye shine as lights in the world;"
Philippians 2:15

I leave you with a bunch of roses...

Love in Christ,

...from a daughter of God

"Wherefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and hope to the end for the grace that is to be brought unto you at the revelation of Jesus Christ; As obedient children, not fashioning yourselves according to the former lusts in your ignorance: But as he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation; Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy."

1 Peter 1:13-16

My Keeper at Home Week

Good day my Titus 2 sisters!

First of all, I hope you are strong in the Lord and the power of His might.

Today I have a post where I share a few various pictures of things around here from the last week or so. Maybe it can encourage some of you who have the same kind of jobs to do as a godly woman.

Some dinners I've cooked...

And the other week I found two of these casserole dishes to buy. We broke our one, like ten years ago, and haven't found another one since. So I bought both of them! They're great for big families.

And I've been putting them to work...like tonight.

Which was this old recipe...

But of course I replaced the apples with pear:-) And it looks like this.

And then the other night I made this...
A spicy cheesy taco pasta dish.

Here's a portion of the recipe (you can find it online if any of you want to make it).

Have you ever seen anything like this? Almost black dried apricots? Well I hadn't until relatively recently. They're just regular dried apricots without the sulphur or whatever they normally add when drying them. They're interesting and they do taste different too. They come from Costco.

And just my keeper at home dishes pic:-)

And speaking of which, yesterday my mother turned up with this nice soft mat to stand on while doing dishes:-) It's from Costco too. It's a blessing especially if you have a lot of dishes to wash.

I've been working with pears for two weeks; mostly preserving them in jars but making more pear butter and desserts too.

Today it was even cozy inside to do my work with all the blinds and curtains drawn and the air conditioning blasting cool as it was hot outside. It was peaceful and quiet...good for pondering everything...as we godly women should:-)

These pears look perfectly good on the outside don't they? And most of them are thankfully, but...
...looks can be deceiving sometimes. I'm sure you know where I'm going with this:-) Yeah, to people and hearts.

And yesterday I was cooking a dessert and one after the other after the other was good on the outside but rotten at the core literally.

So of course that can be how it is with those who claim to be believers. You could have someone who appears to be obedient in many of their ways. Yes I'm sure you're thinking of the Pharisees from Jesus' day right now as I am. But yes there are Pharisees of today too.

I wanted to get a picture of a good pear too. I don't like pictures of rotten fruit...and I am sure you don't either:-)

It makes me ponder some things. We know God knows everyone's hearts perfectly now even though we don't.

Reminds me of this one...

"For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. Neither is there any creature that is not manifest in his sight: but all things are naked and opened unto the eyes of him with whom we have to do."
Hebrews 4:12-13

And there's this one...
"And they prayed, and said, Thou, Lord, which knowest the hearts of all men, shew whether of these two thou hast chosen,"
Acts 1:24
And this one...
"And thou, Solomon my son, know thou the God of thy father, and serve him with a perfect heart and with a willing mind: for the Lord searcheth all hearts, and understandeth all the imaginations of the thoughts: if thou seek him, he will be found of thee; but if thou forsake him, he will cast thee off for ever."
1 Chronicles 28:9

So beware of those claiming good works without a transformed heart by the new birth. They could be like those pears. Test all things sisters...and we can judge by fruit. God's Word is our standard.

I'm reminded of this...
"Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye are like unto whited sepulchres, which indeed appear beautiful outward, but are within full of dead men's bones, and of all uncleanness. Even so ye also outwardly appear righteous unto men, but within ye are full of hypocrisy and iniquity."
Matthew 23:27-28
And this...in terms of that only God can give us a new heart. But we can get that!
"Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new."
2 Corinthians 5:17
Praise God for that!

And back to my keeper at home things...

This is mostly all pears (and a few plums)...

And more...

And more cooling...

And more to go...

All from one faithful pear tree bearing much fruit.

I was thinking if the world goes crazy panic buying anytime soon then we could live for a couple months just on pears:-) And we'd have milk and eggs and the vegetables in the garden and water. We are richly blessed to have all this from God.

I do know about terrible times ahead in the tribulation when it says you won't be able to buy or sell without the mark of the beast. So what a blessing we have now to be able to have things but we have to be prepared to go through tough times and even death, sisters.

I also thought of this scripture. My pictures of the fruit on the shelves reminded me of it. (It's a bad kind of selfish storing up though,  without considering the most important part of the soul.).

"And he said unto them, Take heed, and beware of covetousness: for a man's life consisteth not in the abundance of the things which he possesseth.

And he spake a parable unto them, saying, The ground of a certain rich man brought forth plentifully:

And he thought within himself, saying, What shall I do, because I have no room where to bestow my fruits?

And he said, This will I do: I will pull down my barns, and build greater; and there will I bestow all my fruits and my goods.

And I will say to my soul, Soul, thou hast much goods laid up for many years; take thine ease, eat, drink, and be merry.

But God said unto him, Thou fool, this night thy soul shall be required of thee: then whose shall those things be, which thou hast provided?

So is he that layeth up treasure for himself, and is not rich toward God."
Luke 12:15-21

"For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?"
Mark 8:36

I'll call that, "lessons from pears"!😊. And yes it's good and wise to lay up simple necessary provisions for the future...but so few think about the soul and prepare to meet God. It's sad. (I did a post on preparing to meet God here.)

Today I saw this pretty green moth on the back door when I was going about my work.

I'm blessed to be able to work with my hands and put to use and store up the blessings we have been provided with.

My oldest brother's work boss makes hundreds of these scripture wall hangings and offers them for free at various events around the state here. The interesting thing is he isn't allowed to set up in one particular big event and sets up in the street instead yet they allow "church groups" which probably sell the things of God in. Very interesting really...and sad. I guess the Word of God not diluted with false religious talk is too much for some people.

Be encouraged sisters!

Be strong in Him.

And finally a flower for my sisters in the Lord...

Love to you, in Christ,

...from a daughter of God
