Today's Edification (15 April 2025)

Greetings sister saints!

Hope you're doing well and pressing forwards in the Lord! Time is moving forwards and our reward with the Lord is ahead so let us look forward and ponder the path of our feet.

Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.

Put away from thee a froward mouth, and perverse lips put far from thee.

Let thine eyes look right on, and let thine eyelids look straight before thee.

Ponder the path of thy feet, and let all thy ways be established.

Turn not to the right hand nor to the left: remove thy foot from evil.

Proverbs 4:23-27

This is a good scripture to ponder...

Seeing ye have purified your souls in obeying the truth through the Spirit unto unfeigned love of the brethren, see that ye love one another with a pure heart fervently: Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever.
1 Peter 1:22-23

Purifying of our souls. That's so important isn't it. Let us be purified in Jesus and His truth.

I thought we would refresh in the scriptures that speak about how we relate to those who do claim our Saviour's name yet live in sin and those in general in sin and false doctrines...

Now I beseech you, brethren, mark them which cause divisions and offences contrary to the doctrine which ye have learned; and avoid them. For they that are such serve not our Lord Jesus Christ, but their own belly; and by good words and fair speeches deceive the hearts of the simple.
Romans 16:17-18

I wrote unto you in an epistle not to company with fornicators:

Yet not altogether with the fornicators of this world, or with the covetous, or extortioners, or with idolaters; for then must ye needs go out of the world.

But now I have written unto you not to keep company, if any man that is called a brother be a fornicator, or covetous, or an idolater, or a railer, or a drunkard, or an extortioner; with such an one no not to eat.

For what have I to do to judge them also that are without? do not ye judge them that are within?

But them that are without God judgeth. Therefore put away from among yourselves that wicked person.

1 Corinthians 5:9-13

Now we command you, brethren, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye withdraw yourselves from every brother that walketh disorderly, and not after the tradition which he received of us.
2 Thessalonians 3:6

And if any man obey not our word by this epistle, note that man, and have no company with him, that he may be ashamed. Yet count him not as an enemy, but admonish him as a brother.
2 Thessalonians 3:14-15

If any man teach otherwise, and consent not to wholesome words, even the words of our Lord Jesus Christ, and to the doctrine which is according to godliness;

He is proud, knowing nothing, but doting about questions and strifes of words, whereof cometh envy, strife, railings, evil surmisings,

Perverse disputings of men of corrupt minds, and destitute of the truth, supposing that gain is godliness: from such withdraw thyself.

1 Timothy 6:3-5

There is a place for not fellowshipping or  associating with people. And this is obedience to God, and no doubt for our own good so we are not compromising in their ways, and also so they may be ashamed and repent too.

Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you,

And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty.

Having therefore these promises, dearly beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.

2 Corinthians 6:17-7:1

And I heard another voice from heaven, saying, Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues. For her sins have reached unto heaven, and God hath remembered her iniquities.
Revelation 18:4-5

So let us please our Lord in all ways and live peaceably with all we can. And yet this is what the truth may create...

Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword.
Matthew 10:34

And one day there will be the great division of the judgement and only two options. May we be found at peace with God in His Son.

If anything may seem hard to do, oh let us remember the sufferings of our precious Saviour for us and love Him more than all things. I can't imagine what horrible things people can do to their fellow man and come up with such torture as crucifixion. So let us love Him much for He has done much and also forgiven us all much.

We love him, because he first loved us.
1 John 4:19

How long suffering is our Lord with mankind. I was just thinking how hideous things are going on where millions of murdered babies are being thrown out in the trash. How He hates the shedding of innocent blood and so many are guilty of this around us. It's tragic but that is just one of the evils of man. But let us search our own lives for other things that may displease Him also. Truly man without God is dark and wicked and we all know we could be there and have been lost ourselves in the past and we must endure and continue to fight our old man. We know we are warned to be on guard and strive on lest we also fall into sin and be cut off. Let us go on humbly in the fear of God working out our own salvation with fear and trembling.

Wherefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and hope to the end for the grace that is to be brought unto you at the revelation of Jesus Christ;

As obedient children, not fashioning yourselves according to the former lusts in your ignorance:

But as he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation;

1 Peter 1:13-15

Strive on my sisters in the faith and also in all the physical duties that you have to do! Love to you in His name.
