Today's Edification (7 August 2024)

Greetings sisters!

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,

To an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you,

Who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.

Wherein ye greatly rejoice, though now for a season, if need be, ye are in heaviness through manifold temptations:

That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ:

Whom having not seen, ye love; in whom, though now ye see him not, yet believing, ye rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory:

Receiving the end of your faith, even the salvation of your souls.

1 Peter 1:3-9

That's a precious scripture indeed! What a glorious hope we have through our Saviour's death and resurrection! And we walk by faith in Him...trusting in that which is unseen, loving Him whom we have not seen! One day our hope will become sight and our salvation when we are called to enter into the joy of our Lord! Sisters...let us strive to be found worthy.

Jesus Christ...our Master...is the centre of our life and we do what we do based on what He told us and how we are to live if we name His name! He is Lord of lords and King of kings!

That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth;
Philippians 2:10
And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him.
Colossians 3:17
Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his. And, Let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity.
2 Timothy 2:19

We see all over the world sadly how His name is being evil spoken of by those who misrepresent Him and so bring reproach upon and blaspheme His name. Let us examine our lives and compare them to His life and make sure we have the mind of Christ and the spirit He showed to those around Him. Oh yes we have different situations for sure and as godly women of course everything will not be the same as we do not have the authority He did but we are called to follow in His steps and obey His voice for sure!

Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:

Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God:

But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men:

Philippians 2:5-7

And when his disciples James and John saw this, they said, Lord, wilt thou that we command fire to come down from heaven, and consume them, even as Elias did?

But he turned, and rebuked them, and said, Ye know not what manner of spirit ye are of.

For the Son of man is not come to destroy men's lives, but to save them. And they went to another village.

Luke 9:54-56

We have so many eyewitness testimonies of many things He did and they were written that we may believe! I'm thankful for that and for our perfect example. And then Paul said also the saints could imitate him as he imitated Christ. We sure know there won't be many examples in this corrupt and deceived world. But Christ our Saviour we can follow in His steps!

It starts from our heart and goes outwards to all our actions doesn't it and personal holiness is very important. We serve a holy God and have the Holy Spirit...and we too have been called to be holy, set apart unto Him. We should be doing all unto the Lord first...which is very important. He sees and it doesn't matter if we have been called to a very quiet life. It's to God that we live. Oh yes our interactions with our fellow humans are important and any saints we may know but those too are done unto the Lord! Let us be content with a quiet and peaceable life, serving Him and those who He puts into our path. Let us keep obeying Him and being the best examples we can be. We are His witnesses after all and that indeed is a high calling. Let us remember He sees all we do and He is the Rewarder.

Quick and simple encouragement for you on a beautiful day here!

A sister shared this scripture and so it's a good one to ponder on...

The days just keep coming and going. The sun keeps rising and setting. We want to be truly wise don't we sisters...in the fear of God and keeping His ways, fulfilling the whole duty of man. We do no want to be or need to be full of the world's wisdom. Good to know how to read and write and have some skills for life and for a job but we see the world striving hard after 'higher education'...and in most cases it's vain isn't it. The wisdom of the world is foolishness to God. God is the source of true wisdom amen sisters?! His Word is full of wisdom and we are to ask Him for wisdom when we lack. So let us seek after the true wisdom. And yes that's thought foolish to the world...but that doesn't matter what they think, let them laugh. We hope they repent and seek the true wisdom that leads to everlasting life!

Good scriptures to teach us how to relate to others, particularly saints...

Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory; but in lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than themselves.

Look not every man on his own things, but every man also on the things of others.

Philippians 2:3-4

Be kindly affectioned one to another with brotherly love; in honour preferring one another;
Romans 12:10

For I have no man likeminded, who will naturally care for your state.

For all seek their own, not the things which are Jesus Christ's.
Philippians 2:20-21

Bear ye one another's burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ.
Galatians 6:2

We then that are strong ought to bear the infirmities of the weak, and not to please ourselves.

Let every one of us please his neighbour for his good to edification.

Romans 15:1-2

Keep pressing on my sisters! Our redemption draws nearer! This world is in the Lord's hands. He knows the hearts of man. We may think we know...but He knows. Let us humble ourselves under His mighty hand! His will be done on earth!

My love be with you all,

Christ's servant,

Chayil
