Today's Edification (13 July 2024)

Greetings in Jesus' name, sisters!

Are you thankful for Him today?!

I am pondering being...

Thankful for a mediator...

For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus; Who gave himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time.
1 Timothy 2:5-6

Thankful for an advocate and propitiation for sin...

My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous: And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world.
1 John 2:1-2

Thankful for reconciliation...

And that he might reconcile both unto God in one body by the cross, having slain the enmity thereby:
Ephesians 2:16

Thankful for a Saviour...

Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ;
Titus 2:13

Thankful for a Redeemer...

Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree:
Galatians 3:13

Thankful for our High Priest who intercedes for us...

Wherefore he is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them. For such an high priest became us, who is holy, harmless, undefiled, separate from sinners, and made higher than the heavens;
Hebrews 7:25-26

Thankful for justification...

But for us also, to whom it shall be imputed, if we believe on him that raised up Jesus our Lord from the dead; Who was delivered for our offences, and was raised again for our justification.
Romans 4:24-25

Thankful for forgiveness...

Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son: In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins:
Colossians 1:13-14

Thankful for a sacrifice...

Purge out therefore the old leaven, that ye may be a new lump, as ye are unleavened. For even Christ our passover is sacrificed for us:
1 Corinthians 5:7

Thankful for atonement...

And not only so, but we also joy in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom we have now received the atonement.
Romans 5:11

Thankful for sanctification...

Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth.
John 17:17

Thankful for love...

As the Father hath loved me, so have I loved you: continue ye in my love. If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father's commandments, and abide in his love.
John 15:9-10

Thankful for mercy...

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,
1 Peter 1:3

Thankful for an example...

For even hereunto were ye called: because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that ye should follow his steps:
1 Peter 2:21

Thankful for righteousness...

For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.
2 Corinthians 5:21

Thankful for truth...

If so be that ye have heard him, and have been taught by him, as the truth is in Jesus:
Ephesians 4:21

Thankful for peace...

Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ:
Romans 5:1

Thankful for comfort...

If there be therefore any consolation in Christ, if any comfort of love, if any fellowship of the Spirit, if any bowels and mercies,
Philippians 2:1

Thankful for grace...

Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus:
Romans 3:24

Thankful for hope of a resurrection to life...

Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live:
John 11:25

Thankful for hope of eternal life...

Which he shed on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Saviour; That being justified by his grace, we should be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life.
Titus 3:6-7

Wow we truly are rich in Christ, sisters! Let us labour to abide in Him and His rest. If anyone could think we were (or could be) working our way to heaven after all that...🤔. It's not happening ever. Don't even try! But indeed we have much to do to follow after Him and lose our life for Him. He is worthy and God gave His best...Himself.

Indeed He is a cause for great joy! He is the good news to the world!

And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.
Luke 2:10-11

Let us follow after Him on the path to eternal life that He laid out. You can find it summarized and explained briefly here and of course we live by every Word of God so we ought to read and study the Word!

Catching up and dropping pictures here from the last several days. I've been pretty busy.

Pretty and peaceful moon creation over my little 'home'...

(I sat the phone on the car and you can see how dewy the night is!)

These trees were amazingly sparkly in the morning and it looked like hundreds of tiny lights in the sun. Camera doesn't always show it but anyway it was beautiful.

Glory to God for good, pure, and true things in this dark sad world.

I've been working on pruning some fruit trees...

Much information to be found online how to do it and some conflicting information but I figure anything is better than nothing!

I was pondering how good God is to prune us saints too. The Father is the gardener/farmer.

I am the true vine, and my Father is the husbandman. Every branch in me that beareth not fruit he taketh away: and every branch that beareth fruit, he purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit.
John 15:1-2

He does it so we may bring forth even more fruit. Reminds me too of the chastisement of the Lord and how He does it because He loves us.

And ye have forgotten the exhortation which speaketh unto you as unto children, My son, despise not thou the chastening of the Lord, nor faint when thou art rebuked of him: For whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom he receiveth.
Hebrews 12:5-6

A pretty sunset as a rain shower came in...

I could hear the ocean roaring particularly loudly this morning when I woke up. And it's not uncommon when the wind is right. It sounded so powerful and you could almost feel the earth shaking too. Just a tiny glimpse of God's power as He is greater than all His creation. And He can calm a storm with one word. We get to serve such a great God sisters! May we be in awe and reverence and fear. May we be lowly and humble before such a mighty one as He.

Thought this was kind of cute. A leek flower self-planted and little leeks are coming up...

More sparkles...

And reality...

Lots of wet long grass around and dirt but I'm thankful for clean dry clothes too!

Peeking at a little cauliflower...

Amazing how the Lord made all the things for food to grow.

Getting broad beans into the ground...

That will be a lot! I saved those seeds in December. And the cycle of life continues...if all goes to plan. Much to be patient for.

Peaceful scene of free ranging chickens...

Little fungi creation...

So many unique things God made.

It's been nice sunshine with some rain lately. So I've been getting a lot of garden work in. Peaceful and quiet work. Labouring has always been man's work from the beginning!

Life...a gift from God not to be taken forgranted. We know not what a day may bring forth.

And they brought young children to him, that he should touch them: and his disciples rebuked those that brought them.

But when Jesus saw it, he was much displeased, and said unto them, Suffer the little children to come unto me, and forbid them not: for of such is the kingdom of God.

Verily I say unto you, Whosoever shall not receive the kingdom of God as a little child, he shall not enter therein.

And he took them up in his arms, put his hands upon them, and blessed them.

Mark 10:13-16

Precious little ones...of such is the kingdom of God. The whole creation groans under the curse and death entered because of sin. Much to ponder deeply when death comes closer to 'home'. I'm glad we have the Word to make sense of this world! It reminds you again of what really matters in life. And truly God is in control and man can do so little. We just have to humble ourselves under His mighty hand.

Jesus is life and we hope and pray all who know to choose evil and good would come to Him to find life eternal! May we be found worthy to take part in the resurrection so the terrible second death may not touch us.

Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years.
Revelation 20:6

I guess that's all for today, sisters. I hope you're pressing on in whatever works are in front of you where you are! I was thinking about the servants in the New Testament and how God gave them commands and how their lives would have looked. We are not in that exact position today but just think how they glorified God right where they were labouring day in and day out in whatever their master had for them. Many physical things. God saw them and they were being His witnesses by being good obedient faithful hard working servants!

Let us keep serving the Lord and others! Strive on my sisters...as good soldiers no matter what.

Thou therefore endure hardness, as a good soldier of Jesus Christ. No man that warreth entangleth himself with the affairs of this life; that he may please him who hath chosen him to be a soldier.
2 Timothy 2:3-4

Love, peace, and mercy to you,

Sister Chayil
