Women Walking Worthy

Writing on this blog, I am very aware of keeping my writing glorifying to God...just as our speech and thoughts too must be. As a woman, I know God has things for us to do in the body of Christ. Different from the men, yes, and so we strive to live worthy of who we are as daughters of the Highest. We look to please Him.

There is so much in the Word about walking worthy. It's a high calling that we have as believers to represent Christ in our lives and show His power to live victorious over our flesh and sin.

"I therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you that ye walk worthy of the vocation wherewith ye are called,

With all lowliness and meekness, with longsuffering, forbearing one another in love;

Endeavouring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.
(Ephesians 4:1-3)

So as women that also would be Titus 2:3-5 and other scriptures particularly pertaining to women.

"The aged women likewise,

that they be in behaviour as becometh holiness,

not false accusers,

not given to much wine,

teachers of good things;

That they may teach the young women

to be sober,

to love their husbands,

to love their children,

To be discreet,

chaste,

keepers at home,

good,

obedient to their own husbands,

that the word of God be not blasphemed."

A well known passage, yes, but there is a great deal in it that covers many different things. All to do with us women being in our rightful place and not blaspheming the word of God.

Ties in with striving to be blameless.

"Wherefore, beloved, seeing that ye look for such things, be diligent that ye may be found of him in peace, without spot, and blameless."
(2 Peter 3:14)

For us women, the Lord's commands of long garments and head covering and no adornment also would be a part of us walking worthy. Well it just is a matter of obedience. And we know that our obedience to the Word is directly related to how much we love God, which is the greatest commandment. To love God is to keep His commands (John 14:15, 1 John 5:3).

As women another area we strive to walk worthy and blameless in is our silence and quietness in the body of believers. Because we love God we obey His place that He has for women. See 1 Corinthians 14:34-35, 1 Timothy 2:11-14 and 1 Peter 3:4-5 on that.

And of course there is all the other godly characters to strive for perfection in such as patience, thankfulness, kindness, mercy, etc and all the other things in the Word how God would have us live.

In the end if we endure faithful in all God's ways, we will be found worthy. All this is possible because of Christ's blood and that He made a way for us to be set free from the bondage of sin. He has given us of His Spirit and we fight against the flesh and what it wants.

"Thou hast a few names even in Sardis which have not defiled their garments; and they shall walk with me in white: for they are worthy."
(Revelation 3:4)

I know we are never worthy in a sense because we really deserve to die because I know we all have committed at least one sin (and many many more). And that's enough to make us worthy of eternal death.

But with grateful hearts we go on in humility...because we deserve death but instead we have been offered life and the hope of it to come...what a great gift! We have the hope of deliverance from God's wrath to come on the ungodly and disobedient. Once we were that...but by God's grace we can go on made new in Christ.

And back to my first sentences I wrote on this post. This blog is a glimpse into some of my everyday life as I am striving to live for God as a woman. Is it bringing glory to God in all ways? It's what I've got to constantly examine myself in. I want to be a woman walking worthy of God; gowing and learning day by day. Do you?

I hope you had or will have a joyous and thankful day...I did.
