I hope you are striving on for the kingdom of God today!
But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.Matthew 6:33
The standards are high today. We have been told so much truth. We will be without excuse, so may we take this all seriously.
For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins,
But a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries.
He that despised Moses' law died without mercy under two or three witnesses:
Of how much sorer punishment, suppose ye, shall he be thought worthy, who hath trodden under foot the Son of God, and hath counted the blood of the covenant, wherewith he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and hath done despite unto the Spirit of grace?
For we know him that hath said, Vengeance belongeth unto me, I will recompense, saith the Lord. And again, The Lord shall judge his people.
It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.
Hebrews 10:26-31
And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth all men every where to repent: Because he hath appointed a day, in the which he will judge the world in righteousness by that man whom he hath ordained; whereof he hath given assurance unto all men, in that he hath raised him from the dead.Acts 17:30-31
We know our Saviour is also the judge. He is no baby in a manger that people can 'tolerate'. Praise God He is good, merciful, loving and forgiving for those who humbly seek Him. There is hope in Him for all to repent of all manner of wickedness. This is so amazing. As Jesus said to the woman caught in sin..."neither do I condemn you, go and sin no more". We know we must repent to find His forgiveness.
This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all.
If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth:
But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.
If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.
If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
1 John 1:5-9
Our Lord first came into this world to save the world through His death and resurrection, and we know He is coming back to judge the world. Let us be ready to be able to stand in the day of His wrath and be in His peace and favour.
Wherefore, beloved, seeing that ye look for such things, be diligent that ye may be found of him in peace, without spot, and blameless.2 Peter 3:14
