Greetings sisters in Christ!
Hopefully you are standing faithful to the Lord where you are. One day all His faithful ones shall be gathered from the four corners of the earth into one place with Him for ever! For now, let us keep striving, though so few want Him and all His words and ways. But with the Lord who can be against us? Yes we may feel alone but by faith we believe in His precious promises to come and that He is a very present help. We truly believe that any losses or sufferings here are not worthy to be compared to our future gain. One day, we shall see Him as He is but today it is walking by faith. But we have His Word and eyewitness testimonies of His majesty, and the witness of Him in His creations around us. We hope to pass all the tests to our faith too. And live out our faith in our actions, for if we do not have appropriate actions, our faith is dead and that is tragic.
Who is a wise man and endued with knowledge among you? let him shew out of a good conversation his works with meekness of wisdom.
But if ye have bitter envying and strife in your hearts, glory not, and lie not against the truth.
This wisdom descendeth not from above, but is earthly, sensual, devilish.
For where envying and strife is, there is confusion and every evil work.
But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be intreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy.
And the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace of them that make peace.
James 3:13-18
One day, the books shall be opened and all shall be judged according to their works. God is watching all people. Nothing goes unnoticed. May we wisely fear Him now and seek to please Him. We do not want our names blotted out of the book of life.
I'm sharing some encouragement for us to keep watching and being ready for our Lord's return...or our death for that matter too.
Then shall the kingdom of heaven be likened unto ten virgins, which took their lamps, and went forth to meet the bridegroom.
And five of them were wise, and five were foolish.
They that were foolish took their lamps, and took no oil with them:
But the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps.
While the bridegroom tarried, they all slumbered and slept.
And at midnight there was a cry made, Behold, the bridegroom cometh; go ye out to meet him.
Then all those virgins arose, and trimmed their lamps.
And the foolish said unto the wise, Give us of your oil; for our lamps are gone out.
But the wise answered, saying, Not so; lest there be not enough for us and you: but go ye rather to them that sell, and buy for yourselves.
And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came; and they that were ready went in with him to the marriage: and the door was shut.
Afterward came also the other virgins, saying, Lord, Lord, open to us.
But he answered and said, Verily I say unto you, I know you not.
Watch therefore, for ye know neither the day nor the hour wherein the Son of man cometh.
Matthew 25:1-13
This just makes me think that we each need to be fully responsible for ourselves. It is wise to think and plan ahead and we indeed are preparing for eternity. Reminds me of Noah and Lot as well because the people in their days were just living life as usual and destruction came. Had there been any more righteous people they would have been saved from those acts of God's wrath no doubt. So few there were and are. Let us be ready and watching and found worthy through Christ to escape His wrath.
And as it was in the days of Noe, so shall it be also in the days of the Son of man.
They did eat, they drank, they married wives, they were given in marriage, until the day that Noe entered into the ark, and the flood came, and destroyed them all.
Likewise also as it was in the days of Lot; they did eat, they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, they builded;
But the same day that Lot went out of Sodom it rained fire and brimstone from heaven, and destroyed them all.
Even thus shall it be in the day when the Son of man is revealed.
In that day, he which shall be upon the housetop, and his stuff in the house, let him not come down to take it away: and he that is in the field, let him likewise not return back.
Remember Lot's wife.
Whosoever shall seek to save his life shall lose it; and whosoever shall lose his life shall preserve it.
Luke 17:26-33
So let us women keep pressing on in all our physical duties too. But let us not get too comfortable here as this is not our true home as we are just passing through. We don't have to have everything 'just right'. Yes we should have order and be diligent in what we need to do like keeping the house, but it is all temporary and we aren't living for this life but for the next, indeed for Christ. Let us remember we are His, members of His body, the chaste virgin for Him. Let us keep ourselves pure and unspotted from the world. We are just strangers and pilgrims in this world so let's not get too settled here. May our hearts and minds be above where Christ is!
If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God.
Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.
For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God.
When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory.
Colossians 3:1-4
So keep pressing on sisters! Love and mercy unto you.
