Today's Edification (7 June 2025)

Hello again sister saints!

Yes we do many things the same in life and so I am also back here sharing in the Lord our God! I hope your day is good there. My day was busy with some wild weather which always makes things interesting. It's been quite a wild start to winter here! But God is in control we know and can trust and that doesn't mean we will escape everything here but we trust in His will and protection too.

Psalm 119 is full of good things to ponder on and encourage us in. I share this portion of it today.

Thou art my portion, O LORD: I have said that I would keep thy words.

I intreated thy favour with my whole heart: be merciful unto me according to thy word.

I thought on my ways, and turned my feet unto thy testimonies.

I made haste, and delayed not to keep thy commandments.

The bands of the wicked have robbed me: but I have not forgotten thy law.

At midnight I will rise to give thanks unto thee because of thy righteous judgments.

I am a companion of all them that fear thee, and of them that keep thy precepts.

The earth, O LORD, is full of thy mercy: teach me thy statutes.

Thou hast dealt well with thy servant, O LORD, according unto thy word.

Teach me good judgment and knowledge: for I have believed thy commandments.

Before I was afflicted I went astray: but now have I kept thy word.

Thou art good, and doest good; teach me thy statutes.

The proud have forged a lie against me: but I will keep thy precepts with my whole heart.

Their heart is as fat as grease; but I delight in thy law.

It is good for me that I have been afflicted; that I might learn thy statutes.

The law of thy mouth is better unto me than thousands of gold and silver.

Psalm 119:57-72

I'm glad we have it and it is precious. There's a lot in that part but I was thinking about afflictions helping us to keep His Word as it says. That's a good aspect to think about and not try to get away from afflictions but they can lead us closer to the Lord if we're truly following and seeking Him and His will.

So strive on sisters, faithful to the Lord, and adorning with good works that please Him. And those things are not always what we think and want but we bring our flesh into submission to what is right don't we! And we can do them with joy and peace knowing He is pleased and sees and will reward according to our works. Let us test our works and all we do and change anything that we need to as we learn and grow. Keep seeking the truth sisters, desiring the sincere milk of the word to grow thereby!

Grace, peace, mercy, and love to you in His name.
