Hello again sisters!
I am back again to share some edifying in the truth with you! That is always the goal and His Word is where we get that from! And we do all things for His glory and in His name. So we can't take things lightly as we want to do all things in a worthy manner of Him.
I hope you are striving on wherever you are! I was pondering how contentment and patience are really great and deep qualities and characteristics that we want to be walking in and growing in. It is human nature to not be content isn't it. Well if we don't have food and clothing then we may have reason to be concerned and we would have to try to do something about it. But I have food and clothing and I am sure you all do too. And even in that we should be content with simple and small amounts of food and clothing that are sufficient for our strength and that we are clothed sufficiently. We do not want to be discontent if we don't happen to have foods that we prefer and like.
This scripture comes to mind...
Woe to thee, O land, when thy king is a child, and thy princes eat in the morning! Blessed art thou, O land, when thy king is the son of nobles, and thy princes eat in due season, for strength, and not for drunkenness !Ecclesiastes 10:16-17
Food is so we can do everything we need to isn't it. And indeed most of us have sufficient and more! So let us be extra content and thankful for all the Lord's blessings!
I am thankful when I get some quieter times to ponder! When you're busy you have to focus on the tasks at hand but getting slower times is such a blessing and I would encourage you to also try to have some times of refreshing too.
Another thing I was pondering is just how blessed we are to be able to worship the Father in spirit and in truth. As Jesus said it is the things that we do that defile us, not everything around us or what we eat (and touch etc). And so I was thinking about the old law and just how different it would have been if we were living under it. We know it was given by God to Israel and that it was added because of sin until Jesus came and to put a difference between them and the other people around them. It was a schoolmaster to bring them to Christ and shadows of better things to come. And indeed praise the Lord we are living in that new and living way now! It speaks of it being bondage and how they were not able to bear it. You just can start thinking how different it would make our lives in how we women would be unclean for a lot of the year and also people would need to be killed for sin and give an eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth etc. We would need to give and sacrifice animals for uncleanness and sin. We would need to keep the yearly feasts and cease all work on the Sabbath. We would not be able to eat certain foods or touch the unclean things. We would have to wash in water if we were unclean. There were laws which included some rather dire and terrible consequences for sin like cutting off a woman's hand and she had to drink bitter water which caused her to rot. Yes I am just saying some of the things that were to happen because of sin. Let us remember that it was because of sin and shows us the seriousness of it and how people were judged and punished on the spot.
But we also see the stark contrast and blessing now how all that is fulfilled in Christ on the stake for us. We have a better covenant to walk in! This is something to be very thankful for! That is why I am sharing about it as His yoke is truly easy and His burden light!
But now we are delivered from the law, that being dead wherein we were held; that we should serve in newness of spirit, and not in the oldness of the letter.Romans 7:6
And no this does not mean we now have the liberty to sin, not at all but it is faith that works by love and spiritual worship that we give to Him. We become the living sacrifices, and indeed priests unto God and indeed Jesus is our merciful and faithful High Priest who ever lives to intercede for us!
Ye also, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house, an holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ.1 Peter 2:5
It's just such a high and holy way and beautiful. If only more would follow our Saviour and His ways. But let us. These are the ways we walk in now...
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.
And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts. If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.
Galatians 5:22-25
But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be intreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy. And the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace of them that make peace.James 3:17-18
How precious is the truth. May we keep seeking it all.
I came across this scripture and it's a good one...
Open ye the gates, that the righteous nation which keepeth the truth may enter in.Isaiah 26:2
And it reminds me that only those who are truthful will enter the gates of heaven!
Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city. For without are dogs, and sorcerers, and whoremongers, and murderers, and idolaters, and whosoever loveth and maketh a lie.Revelation 22:14-15
Yes only those of the truth (Jesus) will enter the gates of heaven! Let us sisters be among them!
After this I beheld, and, lo, a great multitude, which no man could number, of all nations, and kindreds, and people, and tongues, stood before the throne, and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, and palms in their hands; And cried with a loud voice, saying, Salvation to our God which sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb.Revelation 7:9-10
Keep striving on sisters, in the Lord's will in His ways and in the different lives He has for each of us! Love to you in His name. Rejoice in hope!
