Greetings sisters!
Good to be able to share again in the Lord today! I hope you're all striving on!
I was pondering the word saint again and that it surely means holy and is a description of His true people! We have indeed been called to be holy as He is holy and so it is an important part about us as His children.
According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love:Ephesians 1:4
Seeing then that all these things shall be dissolved, what manner of persons ought ye to be in all holy conversation and godliness,2 Peter 3:11
Wherefore, holy brethren, partakers of the heavenly calling, consider the Apostle and High Priest of our profession, Christ Jesus.Hebrews 3:1
Ye also, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house, an holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ.
But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light:1 Peter 2:5, 9
For after this manner in the old time the holy women also, who trusted in God, adorned themselves, being in subjection unto their own husbands:1 Peter 3:5
But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost,Jude 1:20
So may we be holy sisters, set apart unto our great God from the world and all idolatry and other sins.
Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.
For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.
And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever.
1 John 2:15-17
I was pondering how people may try to sanitize what they call Christmas and say it is all about Jesus when honestly it is fulfilling the lusts of the flesh like that scripture above talks about. We live in such an age that is so full of every lust imaginable and we know we must be disciplined ourselves to not get swept up in it though we make good use of that which is good and not evil. We can be thankful for the blessings the Lord gives but we do need to guard against covetousness and other such things. And we must be good stewards and faithful with what the Lord gives us. And we are to...
See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise,
Redeeming the time, because the days are evil.
Wherefore be ye not unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord is.
Ephesians 5:15-17
I'm thankful for His Word to guide and correct us as we learn to discern and test all things, rejecting that which is not right and loving and following that which is good! May we never lose our fear of God. And yet we can boldly come to Him as He is a good Father and cares for His children!
Keep pressing on in good works my sisters in the Lord! It's nice to think that the Lord has His people all over the world where He has them and they're all facing the same type of things! We can pray that we all strive on to the very end. May we all keep walking by faith, pleasing to Him. Be strong sisters and rejoice in His hope and mercy! Love to you all.
