Today's Edification (4 August 2024)

Greetings fellow soldiers of the Lord who are my sisters also!

I'm back again to hopefully encourage you to keep standing strong as living stones of the building the Lord has made and is making!

Ye also, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house, an holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ.
1 Peter 2:5

Yes we still offer sacrifices today...ourselves!

I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.
Romans 12:1

May they be acceptable to God, in a figure, like Abel's, and not like Cain's offering.

And in process of time it came to pass, that Cain brought of the fruit of the ground an offering unto the LORD.

And Abel, he also brought of the firstlings of his flock and of the fat thereof. And the LORD had respect unto Abel and to his offering:

But unto Cain and to his offering he had not respect. And Cain was very wroth, and his countenance fell.

And the LORD said unto Cain, Why art thou wroth? and why is thy countenance fallen?

If thou doest well, shalt thou not be accepted? and if thou doest not well, sin lieth at the door. And unto thee shall be his desire, and thou shalt rule over him.

Genesis 4:3-7

And let us be willing to obey even if it may potentially cost us greatly like it would have when Abraham was offering Isaac. We know there is a cost to follow Jesus. It's not the road of ease and low cost that is taught all over today sadly. But He is worthy so let us strive to please Him! He rewards those who diligently seek Him!

We know how we can be acceptable to God today as He told us! We know it is through Christ and His cleansing blood and also through obeying His Word. Now some will say 'no it's only through Christ and not our works!'. Well, yes and no, so read the Word and let it say what is says and mean what it means!

For he that in these things serveth Christ is acceptable to God, and approved of men.
Romans 14:18

Proving what is acceptable unto the Lord.
Ephesians 5:10

But if any widow have children or nephews, let them learn first to shew piety at home, and to requite their parents: for that is good and acceptable before God.
1 Timothy 5:4

Wherefore we receiving a kingdom which cannot be moved, let us have grace, whereby we may serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear:
Hebrews 12:28

For what glory is it, if, when ye be buffeted for your faults, ye shall take it patiently? but if, when ye do well, and suffer for it, ye take it patiently, this is acceptable with God.
1 Peter 2:20

And it even says we are to be diligent to be so...

Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
2 Timothy 2:15

So let's keep pressing on sisters to be pleasing to Him! You can look up scriptures on pleasing Him too and see more encouragement for us to keep striving to do so! And we want to! He is good! Let's keep being living sacrifices!

But to do good and to communicate forget not: for with such sacrifices God is well pleased.
Hebrews 13:16

Also let us keep abiding in Him and His love otherwise we will get cut off. Let us keep obeying Him and bearing much fruit to remain in Him and He prunes us so we bear even more fruit! This is what glorifies Him and the opposite does not...but is displeasing and unacceptable and gets us His wrath and judgement. Let us hold fast to this truth and not be deceived in this perilous age.

Heard this scripture and it just made me think about how you can talk about something but you have to actually get down to doing it.

In all labour there is profit: but the talk of the lips tendeth only to penury.
Proverbs 14:23

I know it's talking about physical things but we also need to get down to labouring in the faith...daily and patiently!

But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.
James 1:22

Wherefore the Lord said, Forasmuch as this people draw near me with their mouth, and with their lips do honour me, but have removed their heart far from me, and their fear toward me is taught by the precept of men:
Isaiah 29:13

And they come unto thee as the people cometh, and they sit before thee as my people, and they hear thy words, but they will not do them: for with their mouth they shew much love, but their heart goeth after their covetousness.
Ezekiel 33:31

Each day we must live out the faith. It's surely not a one and done thing and people even talk about being 'saved' like they can never lose their hope. Let us cling to our Saviour every day and walk in His ways. Each day we may have constant correcting to do even if that's minor like little attitude adjustments or something like if we aren't thankful enough or how we responded to a new situation or something 'small' the Spirit is convicting us of. Got to keep labouring in the faith!

Let us labour therefore to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief.
Hebrews 4:11
Wherefore we labour, that, whether present or absent, we may be accepted of him.
2 Corinthians 5:9

Our faith must be kept active, alive, and growing and it's not something we did way back 20 years ago or something when we 'accepted' Jesus or something similar (and yes there's many unbiblical ways around that whole subject of coming to the faith and how it's done in the false religious systems of our day.). So today is important isn't it sisters and where we are in our faith. May we not grow lukewarm but go on to perfection.

Therefore leaving the principles of the doctrine of Christ, let us go on unto perfection; not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works, and of faith toward God,
Hebrews 6:1

And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge;

And to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to patience godliness;

And to godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness charity.

For if these things be in you, and abound, they make you that ye shall neither be barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.

2 Peter 1:5-8

Good words of truth to live by!

So that's my edifying for you today! Keep pressing on my sisters, in all good things! We not only have to patiently endure the harder times but we also must press on well in the easier times and every day things too! Let us strive to overcome to the very end!

Amen...let it and therefore I hope to be back here tomorrow, if God permit, to edify you again!

Grace to you,

Chayil
