Today's Edification (17 August 2024)

Greetings sister saints!

I'm back again to edify you however I can after a busy day myself. I hope you're standing strong and faithful to the Lord! Just some simple encouragement for you to press on wherever you are around God's huge earth He made and placed us on for a time! Let us be faithful unto death and endure to the end to be saved! We are here to glorify Him and not for ourselves. He made all things for Himself. But He has given us many blessings to be thankful for and rejoice in!

I'm blessed to be able to try to build up my sisters around the world with His truth! It is truly a dark world but let us shine our lights in it.

For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.

Do all things without murmurings and disputings:

That ye may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom ye shine as lights in the world;

Philippians 2:13-15

Let us keep going against the current and fight on for the Lord!

I had some things to do in the city so that was a lot of my busy day. But I was pondering on how man has to always be fixing things up. You can see run down houses or bad roads being patched and fixed...but what doesn't decay? The things of the Lord and those things eternal in the heavens right sisters! That's encouraging to think about. And we know our bodies are decaying as well. But let us labour for that which is eternal! Everything temporary is on a down hill slide and much returns to dust as our bodies will too. And the tendency even in human hearts is towards corruption and that of least effort but let us saints fight against that which is corruption and press upwards in His strength.

So I share some scriptures on this and related thoughts.

And, Thou, Lord, in the beginning hast laid the foundation of the earth; and the heavens are the works of thine hands:

They shall perish; but thou remainest; and they all shall wax old as doth a garment;

And as a vesture shalt thou fold them up, and they shall be changed: but thou art the same, and thy years shall not fail.

Hebrews 1:10-12

For we know that if our earthly house of this tabernacle were dissolved, we have a building of God, an house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens.

For we that are in this tabernacle do groan, being burdened: not for that we would be unclothed, but clothed upon, that mortality might be swallowed up of life.
2 Corinthians 5:1, 4

Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal:

But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal:

For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.

Matthew 6:19-21

The earth also was corrupt before God, and the earth was filled with violence. And God looked upon the earth, and, behold, it was corrupt; for all flesh had corrupted his way upon the earth.
Genesis 6:11-12

Lift up your eyes to the heavens, and look upon the earth beneath: for the heavens shall vanish away like smoke, and the earth shall wax old like a garment, and they that dwell therein shall die in like manner: but my salvation shall be for ever, and my righteousness shall not be abolished.
Isaiah 51:6

By much slothfulness the building decayeth; and through idleness of the hands the house droppeth through.
Ecclesiastes 10:18

Because the creature itself also shall be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God.

For we know that the whole creation groaneth and travaileth in pain together until now.

Romans 8:21-22

The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: but the word of our God shall stand for ever.
Isaiah 40:8

A store I need to go to was near the ocean so I dropped by briefly...

It was a quite cold and windy day. And it just sounds so loud and powerful and I was thinking how it's making such a noise all around the world!

There's quite a few scriptures on that to!
Fear ye not me? saith the LORD: will ye not tremble at my presence, which have placed the sand for the bound of the sea by a perpetual decree, that it cannot pass it: and though the waves thereof toss themselves, yet can they not prevail; though they roar, yet can they not pass over it?
Jeremiah 5:22

And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring;
Luke 21:25

Therefore will not we fear, though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea; Though the waters thereof roar and be troubled, though the mountains shake with the swelling thereof. Selah.
Psalm 46:2-3

Let the heavens rejoice, and let the earth be glad; let the sea roar, and the fulness thereof.
Psalm 96:11

Saw these pretty hills too...

I was listening to scripture and I was pondering how Jesus called people...son or daughter.

When Jesus saw their faith, he said unto the sick of the palsy, Son, thy sins be forgiven thee.
Mark 2:5

And he said unto her, Daughter, thy faith hath made thee whole; go in peace, and be whole of thy plague.
Mark 5:34

And it just made me think how that we are the children of God and of this scripture...

Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you,

And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty.
2 Corinthians 6:17-18

Discount grocery store I like to look in...

A blessing for needed items although it doesn't have everything.

I even found a few skirts in op shops too...

Well I hope they are good after wearing them for a bit. I prefer going to the really large stores as we know how rare finding anything biblical is so it's just more worthwhile and more likely to find something.

Thought those trees with the black trunks looked nice too...

Hope to work in the garden here tomorrow. Things are growing!

And more buds are about to burst...

Fruit to come again for another season and the cycle continues!

Broccoli 'bouquet'...

Good blessings from the Lord!

Saw this scripture and it's good to ponder. Let us strive lawfully! And that is to inherit the incorruptible kingdom!

And if a man also strive for masteries, yet is he not crowned, except he strive lawfully.
2 Timothy 2:5

And every man that striveth for the mastery is temperate in all things. Now they do it to obtain a corruptible crown; but we an incorruptible.

I therefore so run, not as uncertainly; so fight I, not as one that beateth the air:

But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway.

1 Corinthians 9:25-27

Hold fast sisters and let us keep remembering the joy of the Lord is our strength! He is our portion and we follow after Him by faith in this faithless generation. Be strong in faith sisters! Fight on!

Love in Christ,

Sister Chayil
