Today's Edification (19 July 2024)

Hello my sisters!

God gave another day for us to live and do all we do! And we sisters love good and delight in His ways and strive to walk in them. The Lord gave me safe travels so I can send you some more encouragement here and I hope you're prospering in the Lord!

Delight thyself also in the LORD; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart. Commit thy way unto the LORD; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass.
Psalm 37:4-5
Praise ye the LORD. Blessed is the man that feareth the LORD, that delighteth greatly in his commandments.
Psalm 112:1
Make me to go in the path of thy commandments; for therein do I delight.
Psalm 119:35

Let, I pray thee, thy merciful kindness be for my comfort, according to thy word unto thy servant.

Let thy tender mercies come unto me, that I may live: for thy law is my delight.

Let the proud be ashamed; for they dealt perversely with me without a cause: but I will meditate in thy precepts.

Psalm 119:76-78

His Word is so good!

And I got to listen to it again on my travels so I'm sharing a few thoughts from that and just whatever good edifying comes to mind that I can share with my sisters. I hope your godly woman's works are gong along well and you keep doing them heartily as unto the Lord even if it's the same simple things over and over and over! Helping and serving are pleasing to Him!

That's something I was thinking about today too how Jesus was God yet as it says here...

Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:

Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God:

But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men:

And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.

Philippians 2:5-8

He did not go around demanding that everyone serve and worship Him...which is what He deserves but He was here meek and lowly as a servant, healing many, teaching many, and suffering horribly and dying in agony for us. Incredible really and what an example to follow! We all have a long way to go I'm sure...but we're blessed to have a perfect example to strive to attain to.

We are fully responsible for ourselves. The soul that sins...it shall die.

Behold, all souls are mine; as the soul of the father, so also the soul of the son is mine: the soul that sinneth, it shall die...The soul that sinneth, it shall die. The son shall not bear the iniquity of the father, neither shall the father bear the iniquity of the son: the righteousness of the righteous shall be upon him, and the wickedness of the wicked shall be upon him.
Ezekiel 18:4,20

While we can share truth with people, the gospel, and help point them to the Word, we can never force anyone to do anything. We don't want to but we hope they come willingly to the Saviour! We hope they see their sin and the Lord helps them. While we do want none to perish...it's not in our control so we need to leave it in His hands. And we can work on ourselves with His help, laying aside the weights which beset us and repenting of any sins we fall into or learn about as we grow. We examine our own lives and hearts and definitely do not want any hypocrisy in us.

I thought how precious it is to hear these words...

And he said unto her, Thy sins are forgiven.
Luke 7:48

It's what our Saviour said to the sinner woman who loved Him much and came to His feet weeping and wiping His feet with tears and the hairs of her head and anointing them with oil. Much had been forgiven her so she loved much. Truly it is a precious thing to have sins forgiven! This is not to be taken lightly. We know there is no forgiveness without the shedding of blood...and that is our precious Saviour's blood...the spotless Lamb of God.

If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
1 John 1:9

He is faithful! He is just! Let us confess our sins and we sure know we can't keep doing them! But then we can go forth rejoicing being grateful for His abundant mercy and pressing on to continue to please Him. In Him is hope!

Rejoicing in hope; patient in tribulation; continuing instant in prayer;
Romans 12:12

I was also pondering how we do have to seek the Lord and His truth as He doesn't force anyone and even conceals truth from those who are not seeking or His.

And his disciples asked him, saying, What might this parable be? And he said, Unto you it is given to know the mysteries of the kingdom of God: but to others in parables; that seeing they might not see, and hearing they might not understand.
Luke 8:9-10

But we love to search out His truth and seek after it like the pearl of great price we sell all for!

I was pondering the account of the prodigal son too and how his father reacted. Surely that is like our Father...He loves to see the lost humbly coming home...repenting!

And he arose, and came to his father. But when he was yet a great way off, his father saw him, and had compassion, and ran, and fell on his neck, and kissed him.
Luke 15:20

This is our Father of love and comfort!

Reminds me of this scripture too as we make the move to go to Him first in humility...

Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded.
James 4:8

Let us go to Him and may He be our portion too always, every day.

The LORD is my portion, saith my soul; therefore will I hope in him. The LORD is good unto them that wait for him, to the soul that seeketh him. It is good that a man should both hope and quietly wait for the salvation of the LORD.
Lamentations 3:24-26

And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God.
Ephesians 3:19

May His love comfort His true children.

If there be therefore any consolation in Christ, if any comfort of love, if any fellowship of the Spirit, if any bowels and mercies,

Fulfil ye my joy, that ye be likeminded, having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind.

Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory; but in lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than themselves.

Philippians 2:1-3

He is so good to us even after all we have done and I read this scripture today and we see where He regrets making man on the earth as their wickedness was so great.

And it repented the LORD that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him at his heart.

And the LORD said, I will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the earth; both man, and beast, and the creeping thing, and the fowls of the air; for it repenteth me that I have made them.

But Noah found grace in the eyes of the LORD.

Genesis 6:6-8

And yet He sent His beloved Son into this world to save us. He loved the world He gave the best, Himself. Incredible. What a great God we serve sisters! He died while we were still sinners. We were not saints yet.

But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him.
Romans 5:8-9

How would we not want to obey Him for all He has done? Let us be like this one grateful man...

And one of them, when he saw that he was healed, turned back, and with a loud voice glorified God,

And fell down on his face at his feet, giving him thanks: and he was a Samaritan.

And Jesus answering said, Were there not ten cleansed? but where are the nine?

There are not found that returned to give glory to God, save this stranger.

And he said unto him, Arise, go thy way: thy faith hath made thee whole.

Luke 17:15-19

And let us love much for much has been forgiven us and also much will be required. So let us press on working out our salvation with fear and trembling and knowing the righteous will scarcely be saved...so keeping humble lest we fall.

But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.
Matthew 24:13

If the Lord wills, tomorrow I will be here again to edify you the best I can! Hold fast to the truth my sisters! Cleave unto the Lord with all you are!

Love in Him,

Sister Chayil
