Today's Edification (30 June 2024)

Salutations to my sisters in Christ!

I trust you're all pressing forward in the Lord our God! Holding faithfully to His truth in an almost faithless age. Let us be faithful to God unto death!

To the saints and faithful brethren in Christ which are at Colosse: Grace be unto you, and peace, from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.

We give thanks to God and the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, praying always for you,

Since we heard of your faith in Christ Jesus, and of the love which ye have to all the saints,

For the hope which is laid up for you in heaven, whereof ye heard before in the word of the truth of the gospel;

Colossians 1:2-5

I was pondering how we can and should be thankful for and in everything but that doesn't mean we trust in those things or don't know that everything is the Lord's and He can take them away again and we'll still be thankful to Him! The most thankfulness we should have is for Him and His Son who loved us and died for us! But yet we all still do have many extra blessings on top of that and important food and raiment and then so very much on top of that. Praise God for it all and may we not hold tightly to anything but Him and His Word!

Perhaps after God the most thing we can 'hold on to' if you want to put it that way could be saints. They can come with us to heaven if we all endure:-) But we also have to be ready to leave people if they fall into unrepentive sin or are found lacking and not in the truth. After all, God knows the hearts of all men and we really can't. We remember that we are responsible for ourselves and if that means we have to walk alone after Him so be it! If we compromise just to have others close around us we may all perish with them. That would be most foolish and a terrible mistake. Some may say, "Oh we cannot forsake the 'assembling of ourselves'!", but fail to see all the other commands they are breaking to do so in compromise. We have very much to discern in these last times indeed. Let us be very wise and test all things. The Lord will help us if we're truly willing and surrendered.

I was thinking about doubt too and how we don't want to have that do we sisters but have strong faith and trust in God!

And immediately Jesus stretched forth his hand, and caught him, and said unto him, O thou of little faith, wherefore didst thou doubt?
Matthew 14:31
And seek not ye what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink, neither be ye of doubtful mind.
Luke 12:29
And he that doubteth is damned if he eat, because he eateth not of faith: for whatsoever is not of faith is sin.
Romans 14:23
I will therefore that men pray every where, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and doubting.
1 Timothy 2:8

We know we are to have childlike faith and I don't know children who go around doubting and worrying about things really. Well they could but I'm sure you know what I mean:-) Their parents look after them and so our heavenly Father looks after us!

I was pondering on the question of "Is God enough?". Are we so completely satisfied in Him and to simply follow after Him the best we can? It's a good question to ponder and reset our mind on sometimes as we definitely do not want to be complaining about anything or be disatisfied with what His will is for us. May our Lord and Saviour be more than enough for us and we are truly richly blessed in Him! If He is enough, then we can truly thrive wherever we are and no matter what! Let us treasure this fact and precious hope we have of salvation to come! Let us go about our work, minding our own business, being at peace and being thankful and content to know the Lord!

I read some scriptures on truth to edify us here...

Always much in Psalm 119 to encourage us!

Let, I pray thee, thy merciful kindness be for my comfort, according to thy word unto thy servant. Let thy tender mercies come unto me, that I may live: for thy law is my delight.
Psalm 119:76-77
Before I was afflicted I went astray: but now have I kept thy word....It is good for me that I have been afflicted; that I might learn thy statutes.
Psalm 119:67,71
I am a companion of all them that fear thee, and of them that keep thy precepts.
Psalm 119:63

God's Word is always good!

Be ye also patient; stablish your hearts: for the coming of the Lord draweth nigh. Grudge not one against another, brethren, lest ye be condemned: behold, the judge standeth before the door.
James 5:8-9

The coming of our Lord draws near! And let us not be holding a grudge against anyone as the Judge stands before the door! We want to get all things right before it's too late. Let us keep searching our hearts and motives and may we ask the Lord to purify them as we work with Him.

And when ye stand praying, forgive, if ye have ought against any: that your Father also which is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses. But if ye do not forgive, neither will your Father which is in heaven forgive your trespasses.
Mark 11:25-26

Keep pressing on in the way, in the truth, and in the light! Worthy is the Lamb!

Godly love in Christ,

Sister Chayil
