Today's Edification (16 April 2024)

Hello sisters!

I'm back another day and I trust you are striving on in the Lord too!

Grace to you, and peace, from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
Philemon 1:3

A new day dawns...

A new day of His mercies!

Blessed be the name of the LORD from this time forth and for evermore. From the rising of the sun unto the going down of the same the LORD'S name is to be praised.
Psalm 113:2-3

Pretty sun through the fog and autumn leaves...

Off on my bus trip to the children's.

And getting to work on my blog here as I go. I was studying about 'witness/testimony'. We sisters are bearing His witness in this world...in every aspect of our lives as there's no part of us that isn't under His control is there.

And I fell at his feet to worship him. And he said unto me, See thou do it not: I am thy fellowservant, and of thy brethren that have the testimony of Jesus: worship God: for the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.
Revelation 19:10

And the night following the Lord stood by him, and said, Be of good cheer, Paul: for as thou hast testified of me in Jerusalem, so must thou bear witness also at Rome.
Acts 23:11

Paul got to speak before rulers and kings. I don't think we will have that but we sure have to be ready to give an answer and also suffer physical persecution. We have so many freedoms today...not to be taken forgranted.

And I was thinking of this scripture how satan accuses us to God and how we overcome him...

And I heard a loud voice saying in heaven, Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of his Christ: for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night. And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.

Revelation 12:10-11

And I was thinking about Job too.

And the LORD said unto Satan, Hast thou considered my servant Job, that there is none like him in the earth, a perfect and an upright man, one that feareth God, and escheweth evil?

Then Satan answered the LORD, and said, Doth Job fear God for nought?

Hast not thou made an hedge about him, and about his house, and about all that he hath on every side? thou hast blessed the work of his hands, and his substance is increased in the land.

But put forth thine hand now, and touch all that he hath, and he will curse thee to thy face.

Job 1:8-11

He said that Job would curse God...which is a false accusation or prediction.

But we sisters just keep pressing on knowing satan (or sadly even humans) will accuse us before God. We keep striving to be blameless and ready to give 'the word of our witness' and we don't want to be a poor witness for the Lord.

We do not want to blaspheme His name by our actions.

To be discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God be not blasphemed.
Titus 2:5

Let as many servants as are under the yoke count their own masters worthy of all honour, that the name of God and his doctrine be not blasphemed.
1 Timothy 6:1

Just pondering on the whole subject of witnesses (true or false) and of being Christ's witness in this dark world. Of course we have not seen Him but we believe His Word by faith and live it out! Faithfully living out His Word is so important isn't it sisters for our witness for Him in this dark world. He is truth and as Jesus said to Pilate He came into the world to bear witness to the truth.

Pilate therefore said unto him, Art thou a king then? Jesus answered, Thou sayest that I am a king. To this end was I born, and for this cause came I into the world, that I should bear witness unto the truth. Every one that is of the truth heareth my voice.
John 18:37

Let us keep bearing witness to the truth also. His Word is truth! We are so blessed to have His written Word - the word of truth!

In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise,
Ephesians 1:13
Of his own will begat he us with the word of truth, that we should be a kind of firstfruits of his creatures.
James 1:18

Beautiful day He made...

That's a really country looking bus stop where my journey ended. But the gospel went up! Thankful for safe travels.

Here's some older scripture pictures to edify...

Hope those blessed you (again!). There's a lot on patience and endurance etc.

I've had a busy day catching up on housework and helping here. More to go tomorrow if I get the day. Hope all your godly woman's works are going well whatever they are in the calling you do have which you're being content and doing your best in! Rest is a great blessing after working hard isn't it. And Christ is our spiritual rest most importantly and one day we can rest from our labours.

Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus. And I heard a voice from heaven saying unto me, Write, Blessed are the dead which die in the Lord from henceforth: Yea, saith the Spirit, that they may rest from their labours; and their works do follow them.

Revelation 14:12-13

And the sun went down again on my day...

Their line is gone out through all the earth, and their words to the end of the world. In them hath he set a tabernacle for the sun,

Which is as a bridegroom coming out of his chamber, and rejoiceth as a strong man to run a race.

His going forth is from the end of the heaven, and his circuit unto the ends of it: and there is nothing hid from the heat thereof.

Psalm 19:4-6

And it keeps rising somewhere around the world and only the Lord knows where all His saints are! Everyone's out there few though they may be pressing on and going though trials too.

Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his. And, Let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity.
2 Timothy 2:19

I'm sure we all can echo brother Paul's thoughts and feelings here...

For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain.

But if I live in the flesh, this is the fruit of my labour: yet what I shall choose I wot not.

For I am in a strait betwixt two, having a desire to depart, and to be with Christ; which is far better:

Nevertheless to abide in the flesh is more needful for you.

And having this confidence, I know that I shall abide and continue with you all for your furtherance and joy of faith;

Philippians 1:21-25

But to live is Christ and that's what He has for us so let's abide in Him as it's all about Him!

Keep enduring in the faith sisters! Though our outward man is perishing we are renewed inwardly day by day and can mount up with wings as eagles and not faint! He is our strength and hope! Endure hardness with joy like good soldiers sisters!

Love in Christ,

Sister Chayil
