Today's Edification (23 March 2024)

Greetings sisters who love the Lord!

It's a new day to serve Him with a willing heart!

But if from thence thou shalt seek the LORD thy God, thou shalt find him, if thou seek him with all thy heart and with all thy soul.

Deuteronomy 4:29

Blessed are they that keep his testimonies, and that seek him with the whole heart.

With my whole heart have I sought thee: O let me not wander from thy commandments.

The proud have forged a lie against me: but I will keep thy precepts with my whole heart.

Psalm 119:2,10,69

There is much in the Word about the heart.

Only God can change hearts!

A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh.

Ezekiel 36:26

Yet we know this is true...

The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it? I the LORD search the heart, I try the reins, even to give every man according to his ways, and according to the fruit of his doings.
Jeremiah 17:9-10

And he said, That which cometh out of the man, that defileth the man.

For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders,

Thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lasciviousness, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness:

All these evil things come from within, and defile the man.

 Mark 7:20-23

Let us not be defiled by any of those (or other) evil things. We know nothing that defiles will enter the gates of heaven.

And there shall in no wise enter into it any thing that defileth, neither whatsoever worketh abomination, or maketh a lie: but they which are written in the Lamb's book of life.

Revelation 21:27

But there is hope for all of course because God's goodness leads us to repentance! Christ can cleanse us from all evil! There is hope in Him!

The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.

2 Peter 3:9

I don't want anyone to perish either...in outer darkness, and fire, in weeping and gnashing of teeth and where the worm dies not. I hope all repent.

Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled.
Matthew 5:6

I was pondering that scripture. That's the heart of all us sisters isn't it. We want what is right before the Lord. I couldn't begin to list everything that is right! We can simply read basically anywhere in His Word (the NT for today) and see what those are.

Matthew 26 reading here...

And some scriptures on mercy here...

Although there may be storms all around...the Lord can give us a great peace and keep us settled in Him. He can establish us on the solid Rock!

But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you. To him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.

1 Peter 5:10-11

But there is a time and season for everything and it's OK to have low times and one's of great uprooting and re-sorting out of your thoughts etc. His Word helps us! Sometimes storms leave a great aftermath to clean up too so that can take time and then there's rebuilding to do. But we have to be ready for the next storm that comes! Look to Christ through it all sisters!

Good peaceful creations...

Let this be us...standing for the Lord no matter what and where...

Titus 2 works and blessings glimpses...

The ants are a people not strong, yet they prepare their meat in the summer;
Proverbs 30:25
His animal creations are hard working and keeping busy in what the Lord made them to do. Let us godly women be too!

Lots more headcoverings cut out and started sewing...

Going to be a very hot oily-smelling sewing machine ahead! Hope it holds up! Major sewing works which I'm thankful the Lord allows me to have to do. Got to try to get them done before I have to travel to the children's again.

I was also pondering how the internet has it's limitations. (We all know that!) But it has many blessings too. But I was also thinking how we don't want to blame it's limitations on others. Say we were communicating with someone and we thought we knew them very well and they weren't exactly the same as the way they seemed to be on the internet and we may well be disappointed. But is that really the persons fault or is it the limitations of the internet? Just something to ponder sisters. We do need to be careful. And we all ought not to think too highly of ourselves or of anyone and we all need to keep humble knowing how much we need the Lord and His help and mercy and grace as we strive in Him.

With all lowliness and meekness, with longsuffering, forbearing one another in love; Endeavouring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.
Ephesians 4:2-3

Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory; but in lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than themselves.
Philippians 2:3

Oh how good are the Lord's ways! And how sad it is that they are not to be found walked in much on this earth by men. I long to walk in His ways and that others may too as they are awesome. Everything would work so well if everyone did. I am striving to. I know I can fail but I want to keep doing better for His glory.

He that covereth a transgression seeketh love; but he that repeateth a matter separateth very friends.
Proverbs 17:9

An ungodly man diggeth up evil: and in his lips there is as a burning fire. A froward man soweth strife: and a whisperer separateth chief friends.
Proverbs 16:27-28

Let us let God's Word strengthen us to the truth of this life. His Word says it all. There is no new thing under the sun or in the heart of man.

For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin.

Hebrews 4:15

For every high priest taken from among men is ordained for men in things pertaining to God, that he may offer both gifts and sacrifices for sins:

Who can have compassion on the ignorant, and on them that are out of the way; for that he himself also is compassed with infirmity.

Hebrews 5:1-2

Pondering on our Saviour who became like one of us!

And when he was at the place, he said unto them, Pray that ye enter not into temptation.

And he was withdrawn from them about a stone's cast, and kneeled down, and prayed,

Saying, Father, if thou be willing, remove this cup from me: nevertheless not my will, but thine, be done.

And there appeared an angel unto him from heaven, strengthening him.

And being in an agony he prayed more earnestly: and his sweat was as it were great drops of blood falling down to the ground.

Luke 22:40-44

Who in the days of his flesh, when he had offered up prayers and supplications with strong crying and tears unto him that was able to save him from death, and was heard in that he feared;

Though he were a Son, yet learned he obedience by the things which he suffered;

And being made perfect, he became the author of eternal salvation unto all them that obey him;

Hebrews 5:7-9

Deep things to ponder. We know the faith life is not all one of joy and rejoicing although there's always cause for that in the Lord no matter what! But there is a very great seriousness to the faith too and there is never a time to take anything flippantly and call it joy in the Lord. No we need to be sober minded right through it all.

Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:

Whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world.

1 Peter 5:8-9

I love that word, STEDFAST!

For we are made partakers of Christ, if we hold the beginning of our confidence stedfast unto the end;

Hebrews 3:14

A woman (who was one of my sewing customers) sent me a short email encouraging me to look into the early Christian's writings. My answer to her was this...

"Thank you for reaching out. I am doing really well...as the Lord is good and yes I am sincerely trying to serve Him. I hope you're doing well.

I really believe we should only read the Bible as our source of truth.

Paul said this...

Acts 20:29-30

For I know this, that after my departing shall grievous wolves enter in among you, not sparing the flock. Also of your own selves shall men arise, speaking perverse things, to draw away disciples after them.

So I don't want to be deceived by any man. False doctrine came in so fast so the best thing to do is only read and obey the written word of God. We can be safe doing that!

Matthew 4:4

But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.

2 Timothy 3:16

All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:

His Word is more than enough!

Hope that explanation makes sense! I hope you will also follow the Lord through the scriptures alone. While there may have been some godly people writing much back then, I really don't know who they were...so it's best to stick to scripture and make sure we are being godly ourselves!

Psalm 119:140

Thy word is very pure: therefore thy servant loveth it.

I would love to talk about how one can find eternal life with you if you would like. There is only one narrow way through Jesus Christ but there are things we must do and know about to get there! Would love to talk about that with you as I do care about souls. Let me know."

His Word is enough amen sisters?! In these perilous time we live in, it's even worse to know who to trust. Trust His Word and cling tightly to it. Man may have a lot of truth or very close to truth yet deny Him by his actions. But that is not the Word's fault of course but the failings of man. His truth stands no matter how terribly it has been and is being abused by most.

Oh the pride of man to think they know everything about you and know your heart, motives or thoughts. For the record, I do not think I am better than anyone in the slightest. (God's ways are better yes which I am trying hard to walk in.) I am thankful for the mercy of the Lord for my sins and would love to have more of a ministry in the gospel...IF...the Lord had that for me but He doesn't, today anyway. Don't let anyone make you feel bad for the calling the Lord has for you sisters. Paul said...abide in the calling you were called. It could change one day but just because you're not out on the streets sitting with the homeless and sharing the gospel with mostly naked people doesn't mean you don't want to or wouldn't, in the slightest! I would love and rejoice for those people to be set free in Christ! Plus it wouldn't necessarily be wise for me to have such a ministry on my own. My quiet calling as a servant is not because I feel defiled by being around the world. Not at all! I never think such thoughts but I am limited in what I can do as a single woman as well. God knows. What I can do is search the internet for email addresses to email the gospel to and however I can when I go out into the world.

We are just responsible for keeping ourselves unspotted from the world and Jesus prayed the Father would keep us from evil and not take us out of the world. We are not to love the world or the things of it or be a friend of the world but we are not defiled by it no matter how much of a trial it could be. You can overlook such things to get to souls especially (but no need to set the world in front of our eyes when that's not what we're doing.) God doesn't want people to hide in caves from the world! That I do know. He wants us to be lights and salt!

Sisters, let's learn not to make horrible false judgements. I'm also thankful for lessons in what not to be and do from others. Always something good comes from bad if we love the Lord. I try my best not to repeat them. Oh the pride of people who seem to think they have it all going on and know everything about your heart. Rest in God sisters...He knows. Oh how He does know.

My friends scorn me: but mine eye poureth out tears unto God.

Job 16:20

So I returned, and considered all the oppressions that are done under the sun: and behold the tears of such as were oppressed, and they had no comforter; and on the side of their oppressors there was power; but they had no comforter.

Ecclesiastes 4:1

Please go and read what the Pharisees really were doing in Matthew 23, sisters before you allow someone to call you one. Don't let anyone tear you down from your pure devotion to Christ being thankful and content in the calling He has and doing what you can to offer hope to the lost and hopeless...even if it is 'little'. Now who's possibly the Pharisees in that? God be Judge. Beware of those doing 'many wonderful works' who may perhaps look down on others who can't. Who could possibly be the Pharisee if someone does that? God knows and let's search our hearts.

Could you not add to what the Pharisee praying to God was saying..."I preach the gospel to the publicans and harlots, I do this, and I do that wonderful work and not like that other person who is just a quiet servant or a mother etc who doesn't share the gospel as much." or "I thank thee that I don't go near those saints who have issues they're struggling to overcome." Beware of such hypocrisy or similar, sisters or whatever it is. God knows. We can all be guilty of that if we aren't careful too. I sure don't want to. 😔

I know we all need to look in the mirror and search our hearts...I do know that and humbly do and know I could miss something but let us humbly submit to whatever calling the Lord has for us and not covet something else or be discontent. May humility reign in us.

My brethren, have not the faith of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Lord of glory, with respect of persons.

For if there come unto your assembly a man with a gold ring, in goodly apparel, and there come in also a poor man in vile raiment;

And ye have respect to him that weareth the gay clothing, and say unto him, Sit thou here in a good place; and say to the poor, Stand thou there, or sit here under my footstool:

Are ye not then partial in yourselves, and are become judges of evil thoughts?

Hearken, my beloved brethren, Hath not God chosen the poor of this world rich in faith, and heirs of the kingdom which he hath promised to them that love him?

James 2:1-5

Then said he also to him that bade him, When thou makest a dinner or a supper, call not thy friends, nor thy brethren, neither thy kinsmen, nor thy rich neighbours; lest they also bid thee again, and a recompence be made thee.

But when thou makest a feast, call the poor, the maimed, the lame, the blind:

And thou shalt be blessed; for they cannot recompense thee: for thou shalt be recompensed at the resurrection of the just.

Luke 14:12-14

I was wondering what a 'lie hurricane' feels like. That's when you keep getting so many lies hurled at or about you that you can feel overwhelmed. Don't let satan get you down sisters. Christ reigns and He is our firm foundation that no storm can beat us off of!

Whosoever cometh to me, and heareth my sayings, and doeth them, I will shew you to whom he is like:

He is like a man which built an house, and digged deep, and laid the foundation on a rock: and when the flood arose, the stream beat vehemently upon that house, and could not shake it: for it was founded upon a rock.

Luke 6:47-48

In Christ, we will prevail! He has gone before us and we are no greater than our Master who suffered such contradiction of sinners against Himself.

For consider him that endured such contradiction of sinners against himself, lest ye be wearied and faint in your minds.

Hebrews 12:3

From the end of the earth will I cry unto thee, when my heart is overwhelmed: lead me to the rock that is higher than I. For thou hast been a shelter for me, and a strong tower from the enemy.

Psalm 61:2-3

Keep pressing on the narrow hard road sisters...not growing weary in well doing! It will be worth it all!

By honour and dishonour, by evil report and good report: as deceivers, and yet true;

As unknown, and yet well known; as dying, and, behold, we live; as chastened, and not killed;

As sorrowful, yet alway rejoicing; as poor, yet making many rich; as having nothing, and yet possessing all things.

2 Corinthians 6:8-10

Fervent love to my sisters,

Sister Chayil
