Today's Edification (5 February 2024)

Greetings sisters who love the Lord!

I hope all is well with you and you are growing up in Him, established in the faith and on guard for our enemy who's lurking around seeking whom he may devour. Let us look to our Almighty Saviour!

Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.

Ephesians 6:16

We have daily battle to do!

Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.

Romans 8:37

It's a blessing to have good works to occupy in each day, amen sisters. No matter what they are, let us rejoice to be godly women, set free from the world's and satan's bondage!

Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed;

And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.

John 8:31-32

We don't want to be like this...

And these are they likewise which are sown on stony ground; who, when they have heard the word, immediately receive it with gladness;

And have no root in themselves, and so endure but for a time: afterward, when affliction or persecution ariseth for the word's sake, immediately they are offended.

Mark 4:16-17

Or this...

So let us be prepared in our mind for a great fight of afflictions continued ahead!

But call to remembrance the former days, in which, after ye were illuminated, ye endured a great fight of afflictions;

Partly, whilst ye were made a gazingstock both by reproaches and afflictions; and partly, whilst ye became companions of them that were so used.

Hebrews 10:32-33

Let us press through...no matter what! On the Lord's side, we have all the strength we need!

A perfect example in our Saviour in this passage that we want to strive hard to follow and be on guard for...

For this is thankworthy, if a man for conscience toward God endure grief, suffering wrongfully.

For what glory is it, if, when ye be buffeted for your faults, ye shall take it patiently? but if, when ye do well, and suffer for it, ye take it patiently, this is acceptable with God.

For even hereunto were ye called: because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that ye should follow his steps:

Who did no sin, neither was guile found in his mouth:

Who, when he was reviled, reviled not again; when he suffered, he threatened not; but committed himself to him that judgeth righteously:

1 Peter 2:19-23

The Lord can help us be ready at all times especially when challenging situations arise suddenly and how we should respond. As we see in our Saviour also He opened not His mouth at times. That can be a powerful response really.

A soft answer turneth away wrath: but grievous words stir up anger.

Proverbs 15:1

Reminds me also about heaping coals...

For thou shalt heap coals of fire upon his head, and the LORD shall reward thee.

Proverbs 25:22

We are just responsible for ourselves.

And the more we focus on the Lord the more we will be ready to react in the right way at any time. We want to be thinking about Him and His holy ways as much as we can, reading His Word, and walking in the Spirit. And yes there will be new situations we come across and we may not know how to respond or may choose the wrong way but let's learn from each one and keep being perfected for His glory!

Sufficient to such a man is this punishment, which was inflicted of many.

So that contrariwise ye ought rather to forgive him, and comfort him, lest perhaps such a one should be swallowed up with overmuch sorrow.

Wherefore I beseech you that ye would confirm your love toward him.

For to this end also did I write, that I might know the proof of you, whether ye be obedient in all things.

To whom ye forgive any thing, I forgive also: for if I forgave any thing, to whom I forgave it, for your sakes forgave I it in the person of Christ;

Lest Satan should get an advantage of us: for we are not ignorant of his devices.

2 Corinthians 2:6-11

I love that scripture. God's ways are precious and good when followed and I sure want to do that to others! I don't want my sisters being swallowed up in overmuch sorrow ever. We who take sin as weighty as it is, know the burden it can bring knowing we are capable of it or even our weaknesses we are wrestling with. It all keeps us lowly and humble doesn't it knowing we will not be sinless although we are saints/holy and not living in wilful sin. I love you sisters who are striving on with willing humble hearts. I hope I can edify you here and that it helps press you on some in this dark world! And praise God for the hope and redemption in Him!

My great desire is to be blameless in all things for His glory. I know that is my true sisters' desires too! He is worthy of nothing less and we have His Word and Spirit to guide us. We surely will be held very accountable. May He help us in it all and give us wisdom and discernment in all situations we encounter.

For wisdom is better than rubies; and all the things that may be desired are not to be compared to it.

Proverbs 8:11

How much better is it to get wisdom than gold! and to get understanding rather to be chosen than silver!

Proverbs 16:16

Let's keep pressing forwards too...forgetting those things behind! Christ our hope is ahead and His reward with Him!

Picking apples with lil helper...

I'd serve you dinner, made with kangaroo meat...

Good food the Lord provides yet again.

I remember a past Hebrew Root 'friend' telling me once that they wouldn't eat kangaroo meat because they consider it unclean.

Forbidding to marry, and commanding to abstain from meats, which God hath created to be received with thanksgiving of them which believe and know the truth.

For every creature of God is good, and nothing to be refused, if it be received with thanksgiving:

For it is sanctified by the word of God and prayer.

1 Timothy 4:3-5

Speaking of friends...only my sisters in the Lord are my friends now. There is no real fellowship outside of Christ with anyone and in fact we know to separate from those claiming His name yet living in unrepentant sin and false ways. We can still be loving and friendly to the world but there is not closeness. I am here as a friend to my true sisters too!

A man that hath friends must shew himself friendly: and there is a friend that sticketh closer than a brother.

Proverbs 18:24

Faithful are the wounds of a friend; but the kisses of an enemy are deceitful.

Ointment and perfume rejoice the heart: so doth the sweetness of a man's friend by hearty counsel.

Iron sharpeneth iron; so a man sharpeneth the countenance of his friend.

Proverbs 27:6,9,17

Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.

Ye are my friends, if ye do whatsoever I command you.

Henceforth I call you not servants; for the servant knoweth not what his lord doeth: but I have called you friends; for all things that I have heard of my Father I have made known unto you.

John 15:13-15

True godly friends are a blessing if you have them. If not, be thankful and content but if you're reading and you're a godly born from above woman striving in all ways...I'm sure you might reach out to me one day to edify and encourage in the Lord.

Evening video encouragement thoughts for your day...

To God be all the glory forever!

Keep striving on sisters! Farewell!

Love in Christ,

Sister Chayil
