Today's Edification (26 February 2024)

Saluting my sisters on this new day!

Your fellow servant in Christ here, coming back to edify and encourage in the Lord.

There's quite a few scriptures about 'fellow' so I share a few and it is good to ponder on.

And I fell at his feet to worship him. And he said unto me, See thou do it not: I am thy fellowservant, and of thy brethren that have the testimony of Jesus: worship God: for the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.
Revelation 19:10

Paul, a prisoner of Jesus Christ, and Timothy our brother, unto Philemon our dearly beloved, and fellowlabourer, And to our beloved Apphia, and Archippus our fellowsoldier, and to the church in thy house:
Philemon 1:1-2

We therefore ought to receive such, that we might be fellowhelpers to the truth.
3 John 1:8

And Jesus, which is called Justus, who are of the circumcision. These only are my fellowworkers unto the kingdom of God, which have been a comfort unto me.
Colossians 4:11

There salute thee Epaphras, my fellowprisoner in Christ Jesus;
Philemon 1:23

Yet I supposed it necessary to send to you Epaphroditus, my brother, and companion in labour, and fellowsoldier, but your messenger, and he that ministered to my wants.
Philippians 2:25

Makes me think of the unity in Christ and all working for Him and not against Him. We are all one in His body and all do much the same type of things in Him. We have the same goal of seeking first His kingdom and righteousness for His glory!
But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
Matthew 6:33

I hope you're pressing on sisters! And that your godly woman works are going well. No matter what the world or false believers say, we know we women have our place and roles in His creation and in the body of Christ. We must not rebel against them! Satan through the flesh is the one behind women wanting to step out of their places. May it not be so of us His daughters! We know rebellion is likened to the sin of witchcraft. I encourage you to go read that chapter of 1 Samuel 15. It's a good one for us to ponder. Reminds me of people saying Christmas is because they love Jesus...doing their own things to feed their own flesh. But of course we want to examine our own lives always.

Let's keep growing and striving and allowing the Lord to chastise and prune us. Hold fast in the faith and hold on as we know it is a race we must patiently endure. We find ourselves in a culture that is so far from the truth that it's a long way back to God's standards. We must compare ourselves to the Word and not to any human.

Perilous are the days with so many reading the Word, quoting the Word, memorizing the Word and claiming to live it. Many thousands of interpretations of the one Word. We had satan quoting scripture to Jesus didn't we. But let us examine people's fruit over time and if they keep enduring even if they fail as we all do at times. Their heart will be shown but in the end only God knows man's hearts.

Let's not be like this...

But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.
James 1:22
Cling hard to the Word sisters!

But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us.
2 Corinthians 4:7

That scripture came to mind. Treasure in earthen vessels. In Christ, we sure have a lot in these earthly tents of our human bodies which are corruptible. The Holy Spirit and light and hope and joy and peace and love and so much more.
Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.
James 1:17

Matthew 14 reading here...

Do you know what stood out to me in this scripture...
And if thy hand offend thee, cut it off: it is better for thee to enter into life maimed, than having two hands to go into hell, into the fire that never shall be quenched: Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched.
Mark 9:43-44

Yeah...the worm that dies not. Not something you often think about. But I'm thankful Jesus warned us about it...AND made the way of escape for us! Yeah not necessarily nice to talk about but one thing I notice from my old life is how people didn't want to talk about all the 'hard' things of scripture but I am going to now. It's foolish not to. Very wise to remember God's goodness and severity.

If we didn't know the Lord, this life would be so vain. Something that may be devastating in our flesh, is bearable with the Lord because He is our hope! Let us keep focusing on Him even though we have fellow humans to deal with on this earth. We can't just run away from it all but we need to face many things head on!

Evening encouragement for you...

Doing what I can to love my sisters from afar. We are only responsible with what we can do and we know the Lord doesn't hold things against us that we can't do! Let us be faithful in little!

Let's not grow weary in well doing sisters! Even if that 'well doing' is washing dishes, cooking lunch, being told what to do/being on duty etc. Maybe satan can tell us that we should be doing something else. But we need to remember we are women and that is what much of our duties will be. Let us please God!

That they may teach the young women to be sober, to love their husbands, to love their children, To be discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God be not blasphemed.
Titus 2:4-5

I remember an older sister saying to look forward to being older and having had more experiences and gained more wisdom and knowledge etc. I'm sure there will be extra perilous times ahead if we live another fifty years if the Lord tarries. But let's aim to grow much in the Lord and then any of us who are younger sisters now will be able to teach the next generation if anyone wants truth by then.

The hoary head is a crown of glory, if it be found in the way of righteousness.
Proverbs 16:31

Thou shalt rise up before the hoary head, and honour the face of the old man, and fear thy God: I am the LORD.
Leviticus 19:32

Strive on soldiers! Our Lord has overcome the world and defeated death! Let us press on one day at a time! Lord willing I will be back sharing here after travel tomorrow.

Love in Christ,

Sister Chayil
