Today's Encouragement (1 January 2023)

Greetings sisters!

Hope things are going well in your life and you are overcoming in the strength of the Lord! I understand we are to become low, and poor in spirit, and fools in the eyes of the world to become truly wise and right with the Lord.

I was thinking about how it is absolutely essential that we have the Lord our God as our first love. And even without realizing it we can let it slip a little if we aren't constantly remembering it and holding fast to it.

I share a few scriptures to encourage us sisters in it...

And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might.

Deuteronomy 6:5

Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment.

Matthew 22:37-38

Nevertheless I have somewhat against thee, because thou hast left thy first love. Remember therefore from whence thou art fallen, and repent, and do the first works; or else I will come unto thee quickly, and will remove thy candlestick out of his place, except thou repent.

Revelation 2:4-5

And there will be times in our loving Him first that it looks like we aren't loving our neighbors...but we know our love for Him is to be so much greater. And for some examples of this we may have to potentially hurt the feelings of people in order to obey the Lord. And this may be separating from family and friends and not joining them in the things they do like weddings, birthdays, funerals etc. Some people may compromise just to get along even if they don't like the events themselves and that is idolatry putting humans ahead of God and seeking to save our own lives (like not being hated for our obedience). Because we know the Lord is not pleased with the things that go on at those events. But let us set our faces like flint to obey the Lord no matter the cost! He is worthy!

Just sharing some peace...

Pretty bird songs and sunshine as I was watering the garden this morning.

Some giant potatoes...

Great blessings indeed!

Yesterday's sewing...

We know food and raiment are very important parts of life. And we Titus 2 sisters often are very involved with those aspects of life aren't we. It's such a blessing to be godly women! What better place to be than in the ways the Lord has commanded us to walk! His ways are always good!

(thank you sisters for the scriptures)

There's so much about being bold and courageous and fearless in the Lord! In fact the brothers were talking about that today...how we can be confident in our faith.

Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ:

Philippians 1:6

Hold fast sisters and keep pressing on in the faith! We have enduring to do but the Lord has given us all we need (like our Ephesians 6 armour to put on) and we know He will not give us more than we can bear! He is merciful! But let us be willing to suffer unto death for Him!

Love in Christ,

Sister Michaela
