Today's Encouragement (14 October 2022)


Greetings in love to my sisters in Christ! 


Grace to you, and peace, from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.

I thank my God, making mention of thee always in my prayers, 

Hearing of thy love and faith, which thou hast toward the Lord Jesus, and toward all saints;

Philemon 1:3-5

I love that scripture...and I'm thankful to know a few true godly believers too who are faithful to the Lord and have fervent love of the saints. 

And I love this scripture too... 

And, behold, Boaz came from Beth-lehem, and said unto the reapers, The Lord be with you. And they answered him, The Lord bless thee.

Ruth 2:4

Indeed the Lord is with us and we are blessed by Him daily! 

Hope my sisters are strong in the Lord today!

 

I traveled back home today by train... 


So I share a little of the sights and scenery of God's creation... 



A sister and I were instant messaging across the world as I traveled and she sent me this map which had us both on... 


It just made the world seem smaller even though it's the furthest we could be on this huge earth. I know we are close in the Lord but I'm thankful for fast technology to keep in touch daily rather than writing letters like Paul had to do in his day. (And thank you sister for keeping me company:-) 

 
For though I be absent in the flesh, yet am I with you in the spirit, joying and beholding your order, and the stedfastness of your faith in Christ.
Colossians 2:5

 

Then I had some shopping to help do in a fruit and vegetable market... 



Thought those tomatoes were interesting! 

So much good abundant food blessings from the Lord! 


He is merciful and longsuffering to all...wanting none to perish and yet man does his own thing, not thinking to be thankful to the Giver and Creator of it all. And it is He to whom they will give account of their lives one day. But we sisters want to have thankful hearts knowing all we have is from the Lord. And we want to be content with food and clothing. 

Thought this was interesting...but not really very economical at all! 
The price on some of those processed foods can be great. 


All that variety! 


And just like this little fabric store which I dropped into really quickly on the way to the train station (in the town near where I look after the children, which I didn't really know was even there as it's not a very big town)...

...even though there's much variety, there's not much fabric there for godly women's clothing!


You can see all the huge array of buttons they had which is something which really only needs to be quite simple. 


But I found some simple ones which I bought for my shirt sewing that I hope to do at some point. And best of all the woman there got a gospel card with the hope of Christ! 

But it's the pattern of this world isn't it...like the supermarkets packed full of all manner of variety. I know it didn't used to be that way in years past as times were less complicated etc but we sisters are content with simple and we try not to get swept away in all such things. Not that variety is sinful but we know more of the reasons behind why the world does what it does. And we do the best we can to wade through it all being wise with our resources but yet not spending all of our God-given time trying to find the 'perfect' option. We just have to do our best and a balance in it all. And God knows our hearts. But we can see the great fleshliness of the world in general with all manner of things to experience and taste and do. 

Love not the world, neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him. 

For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world. 

And the world passeth away, and the lust thereof: but he that doeth the will of God abideth for ever.

1 John 2:15-17

We want to do the will of God don't we sisters! 

Well I must go now and get onto some other work yet this evening but Lord willing I shall be back here tomorrow!
