Today's Edification (24 June 2024)

Greetings sisters!

A new day to serve the One who created us and loved us and came to die for us!

As I was getting up this morning I was pondering the joy of serving our risen Saviour! So I got some scriptures on that and read them to us here...

I hope those were encouraging to remember our hope of the resurrection in Christ and to keep abiding in Him!

Let us keep following after Him in doing our reasonable service and duty which glorifies Him. We need all of eternity to praise Him enough though...so let's strive to please Him here so we can glorify Him for eternity there!

In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that holy Spirit of promise, Which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of his glory.
Ephesians 1:13-14
Whosoever believeth that Jesus is the Christ is born of God: and every one that loveth him that begat loveth him also that is begotten of him.
1 John 5:1

He gives those who truly believe in the true Saviour the true Holy Spirit! There's fakes of all of those so let us live by all His Words! Truth matters.

One thing that can get to me, if I let it, is why two people who say they love God and all truth and obedience don't talk to each other. But such is life sometimes and I guess it could be caused by flesh and sin, or a misunderstanding of the scriptures or something. But we can only do our best and our part and yes there are some things we just won't understand in this life! God knows! Some things are too mind boggling, as there is a lot like that really in this crazy (for want of a better word) world we live in, so I guess we just can't try to figure them out. I'm glad God's going to deal with this all as He is a just judge and knows the depths of the human heart and motives. I just hope we all strive on with a pure heart and seeking His forgiveness and showing us what we lack or may be blind in and doing our best...for His glory! May we all...few though we be...go on to perfection and strive to attain.

At my first answer no man stood with me, but all men forsook me: I pray God that it may not be laid to their charge. Notwithstanding the Lord stood with me, and strengthened me; that by me the preaching might be fully known, and that all the Gentiles might hear: and I was delivered out of the mouth of the lion.
2 Timothy 4:16-17

May the Lord be our strength and may we stand on His side! And I'm thankful for those who are humble and love one another and help build up one another in the faith especially in these last days of there being so very few who want all truth and righteousness. One day those who obeyed Him will be gathered home together! There will be no sin there and we shall be like the angels of God!

Hmm we know there won't be marriage in heaven but if we're like the angels I was wondering if we even will be sisters (or the men brothers) in heaven. Just pondering that and if the scriptures tell us or is that something we assumed? 🤔 Well I know we'll still be children of God but interesting to ponder. We get new resurrected bodies which I wasn't thinking that they're male or female as flesh and blood doesn't inherit the kingdom so perhaps we're just sisters on earth:-) I'm just pondering on it. Anyway there's so many things we may not fully know until we get there I guess...IF...we endure to the end as I sure plan to and I hope you all do too.

To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:
Ecclesiastes 3:1

We know Solomon spoke about times and seasons for different things. And we see how that is in our lives...things never stay exactly the same. It may seem like they do for a long while but whatever the Lord has for us we need to be content and thankful and rejoicing in! Let us keep being faithful in what He has for us and in front of us. Doesn't mean we can't look to see if there's anything else we could be doing within the means He has given us and if it is within scripture for us to do so but we do not want to be discontent or complaining about what He has for us. Oh yes we can pray for things as He does say to take our requests to the Lord but we need to leave them there with Him and keep focusing on what He has given us to do. Keep being faithful in your own lives my sisters!

And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men;

Knowing that of the Lord ye shall receive the reward of the inheritance: for ye serve the Lord Christ.

But he that doeth wrong shall receive for the wrong which he hath done: and there is no respect of persons.

Colossians 3:23-25

Just like the look of the silky pureed pumpkin...

I'd serve you a piece of warm pumpkin bread if you like!

And thankful to be getting to use the tomatoes I froze. 'Fresh' summer garden produce in winter is an extra blessing!

I put them in the tuna grills to have with pumpkin soup.

Good blessings and the Lord provides!

This was a rainstorm coming in today...

Amazing creations He made! Clouds bringing life giving water.

We don't want to be spiritual 'clouds without water' though....
These are spots in your feasts of charity, when they feast with you, feeding themselves without fear: clouds they are without water, carried about of winds; trees whose fruit withereth, without fruit, twice dead, plucked up by the roots;
Jude 1:12

Let us remember the exceeding great and precious promises of the Lord for His people. Of course we need to make sure we are eligible for the promises but if we are in all the truth of Christ we are!

Let us be patient for many of these promises and wait on the Lord, day by day.

And so, after he had patiently endured, he obtained the promise.
Hebrews 6:15

Today's Edification (23 June 2024)

Greetings my sisters who love God!

He has given another day to keep pressing on not growing weary in well doing! I hope that's what my sisters are doing!

He deserves our best...our everything. He is worthy of so much and yet most give Him so little (like I used to). May that not be so of us and may we love Him with all that we are and may our life be consumed with Him. We cannot have Him and something else. He is a jealous God. He made us and we are not our own. Let us seek to be where He would have us in His service fulfilling His commands for us His daughters.

God can use the 'weak' things to confound the mighty and He uses things which the world despises for His purposes. He is an amazing God. Let us not look down on the roles He has for women. Meek and quiet, chaste and discreet, keepers of the home and raising children, being silent in the body and under man's authority, winning husbands without the Word, and shamefacedness and sobriety and all such commands for women.

Just a quick note here. I decided to remove what I had written about the ministry I once was united to. My two posts had accomplished what they needed to do with letting any regular readers know what was happening. (I just added a brief note into my 'About' page for anyone coming along later.) I do not think I sinned in anything I said but I can be too wordy sometimes and I have learned personally the hard way that we need to be very careful what we say or write about others publically especially. I do not want to get anything wrong about others before God, as I strive to do unto others as I would have them do to me. I still believe everything I said was/is completely true and I believe I was very careful and trying my best in a challenging situation but especially as a woman I think I need to be careful to keep in my place. Just because something is true doesn't mean I need to say it. Neither do I want any ways contrary to God's ways and so want to be doing good unto others and blessing them instead. Jesus taught us to turn the other cheek etc. I just want to be blameless before the Lord and have nothing in me against others. No this does not mean I compromise or condone wrong doing but I am solely responsible for my own actions and will stand to give account before the Lord one day including how I have used this blog. I want to be clear and at total peace in that as I hope you all do too in all you do. And I am but sometimes we need to be extra sure as there's things that just aren't worth losing any reward for. I commit myself again to Him who judges righteously. He knows. I understand a woman is to have a meek and quiet spirit and we do need to be careful how far we go and what we say. As usual many situations in life that may not be sinful but you can just do without doing them or something. I hope that makes some sense sisters.

I believe I have done all I can in the situation to love souls with the truth and warn of error so I continue to pray for God's ways to be followed in all people I know. I can only hope to be a good example for His glory and not a bad one. Out of all this has been many deep lessons in what God's pure and holy ways look like and we need to put them into action...no excuses! You can't just say about anyone in this life..."oh they were so wrong or hurt me so bad"...no that's their problem before God and we must do what's right and even take radical action to make sure we are clear before God and so for these reasons I believe the Lord had me remove what I had written and it was up long enough anyway. My written word is not set in stone like God's is and if we can't change something we wrote ever to conform to the Lord's leading and ways and His timing we have a problem. Anyway yeah I sure am wordy sometimes but that's enough on that I suppose. Keep seeking the truth and all holy and high ways of God my beloved sisters! Be merciful, forgiving, loving, doing good, blessing, and praying for all. To God be the glory! Stand on the truth too and be stedfast and unmoveable in it! Labours are not in vain in Him! We stand on His truth and yeah sometimes we do need to separate from things that are not according to truth.

And they stoned Stephen, calling upon God, and saying, Lord Jesus, receive my spirit. And he kneeled down, and cried with a loud voice, Lord, lay not this sin to their charge. And when he had said this, he fell asleep.
Acts 7:59-60

That stood out to me too the other day. Stephen crying out with a loud voice...no doubt so all could hear about not laying that sin of his murder to their charge. That is great fruit of love and forgiveness. I'm sure Saul heard it too.

And when the blood of thy martyr Stephen was shed, I also was standing by, and consenting unto his death, and kept the raiment of them that slew him.
Acts 22:20

May we have the same spirit of forgiveness for we sure have and do need our Saviour's forgiveness!

And when ye stand praying, forgive, if ye have ought against any: that your Father also which is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses. But if ye do not forgive, neither will your Father which is in heaven forgive your trespasses.
Mark 11:25-26

That's pretty serious if we don't forgive. You can read Matthew 18 for a parable on that too.

Got to work in the garden today. Good, pure, and true peaceful works.

Satisfying clearing weeds. I think there's rain coming so I wanted to work while I could. It was really cold (well for here) but that's the very best weather to work in as you don't overheat! Good blessings and I'm thankful to have a garden even in winter (and no snakes!).

Seeing I need to try to do something else about the huge amounts of aphids.

I was looking online what I can do and thought it was funny you can buy ladybugs...

Not that I'm going to but it made me smile:-) Awesome creations. I'll probably just figure out a soap spray or something if I can.

Fruitful trees...

An orange and a lemon tree.

May we be fruitful in good works! We do not want to be hewn down and cast into the fire.

And now also the axe is laid unto the root of the trees: every tree therefore which bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.
Luke 3:9
If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned.
John 15:6

Saw this huge ball of sap on a tree. Just thought it was interesting! So many creations He made and how He made them to function. I think that's where the trunk is damaged.

Reminds me of maple syrup:-)

I'd serve you a simple potato lunch...

Just sharing from my days. Been having a few quieter ones with study and pondering on the Word and online ministry and looks like more cozy indoor days ahead if it rains too. Very thankful for my little heater to keep warm in my little caravan refuge during cold weather. We all have many blessings and a simple quiet and content life in Christ is good.

Made me think of this...
And Paul dwelt two whole years in his own hired house, and received all that came in unto him, Preaching the kingdom of God, and teaching those things which concern the Lord Jesus Christ, with all confidence, no man forbidding him.
Acts 28:30-31
I'd gladly receive any woman seeking all truth into my lil home to talk about truth and study the scriptures! But there's not so many around wanting truth is there and so we can't do that! But we do do what we can and that's a lot of online for me.

That truly is a peaceful window view. From the rising of the sun to the going down thereof the Lord's name is to be praised!

I thought I would share here what I send out by email to women (who claim Christ) to share the gospel of our true Saviour and His path to eternal life with them. I hope it may also edify anyone reading somehow. There's many ways we can say the same things of truth so let's just all do the best we can. It's God that gives the increase not our wisdom or way of saying things. I know I am pretty wordy but it's all true as far as I know. You test all things to the scriptures too sisters!

"Greetings!

How are you going? I hope well.

I found your email online so wanted to reach out and say hi and introduce myself as a daughter of God who loves and obeys Him!

I found that the scriptures teach us to love one another and so I also want to tell you about the glad tidings of Jesus and His way to eternal life! Maybe you do have some kind of faith but I learned that there's much more to finding eternal life than I had once believed.

So I want to share how I am expecting to enter the gates of heaven one day...according to the scriptures...so you can also have that glorious hope!

Luke 13:24
Strive to enter in at the strait gate: for many, I say unto you, will seek to enter in, and shall not be able.

First I need to believe in Jesus that He came into the world to save sinners. He died, shedding His precious blood to atone for those who repent and follow Him. Then He rose again to give us hope of a resurrection to life! (John 6:29, 1 John 5:1)

That's what I needed to do...repent! Stop doing sinful things and practicing false ways that do not please Him. It is a whole changed life as I surrendered everything to Him and submit to His Word now. I repent of my ways to replace them with God's holy ways which He gave in His Word. I am to love Him with all that I am and I learned I do that by obeying Him! (Mark 1:15, Acts 2:38) Jesus said we must be converted and become as little children. We must humble ourselves and surrender our lives and will to Him (Matthew 18:3-4). He calls us to hate our own lives in order to find eternal life! (John 12:25-26)

Through this all I became God's daughter! He gives us of His Spirit and makes His people new creations! This is a miracle and not of my doing! The Word speaks about how we must be born from above or born again. (John 3:3, 1 Peter 1:22-23) This is a whole renewing of the heart and mind and the Spirit produces good fruit in us as we repent of our ways and turn to His. We enter a blood covenant with Christ and He does His part faithfully and I must do mine faithfully. We become new creations in Him!

And by His grace, mercy, goodness, and strength, I plan to walk in the good news of Christ and the only way He taught to eternal life until the very end. (Matthew 10:22, Revelation 21:7)

We know we must through much tribulation enter the kingdom of heaven so we must fight all the spiritual battles in our path and overcome through the blood of the Lamb and the word of our testimony and not love our lives unto death (Revelation 12:11)!

How about you? I would love to hear from you if you too are seeking all truth and holy ways as God's daughter or want to be one!

I learned there is so much deception in what is called 'Christianity' today that I obeyed the Word to leave what is called 'church' to worship Him in spirit and truth and not be a partaker of deception which He hates. (2 Corinthians 6:17-18, 1 Corinthians 5:11)

There was much I needed to repent of but unbiblical clothing and an uncovered head are a few. I learned that God wants us to clothe ourselves simply and plainly and be clothed in loose long garments. I covered my head in obedience to 1 Corinthians 11. I learned practices like Christmas and Easter are pagan and not God ordained so I gave up practicing them. I repented of loving the world in making and listening to music and also that idle entertainment of all kinds is not for God's people. And I learned many other things that many have just accepted as normal in this culture but actually are of this world and the deception and distraction trap of satan. I saw I couldn't love the world and the Father (1 John 2:15-17).

There's more but those give you some idea of who I am and also this is a plea to you to test your life and your conversion and make sure you're walking in the truth of the gospel! Jesus the Christ is the way, the truth, and the life but sadly many fake 'jesus' exist today. This is a plea for you to make sure you are following the one true Jesus of the Bible. In Him we can be safe but outside of Him is only the wrath of God abiding on you.

I'm sharing this in love for you and your eternal soul. Reach out if you would like to talk about this most important truth! And I encourage you to go seeking in the New Testament for the truth! Wisely count the cost to follow Him - and the cost not to - and I hope you choose Christ to eternal life and lose the world instead...not your soul!

Mark 8:36
For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?

I have a blog for sisters if that can edify and encourage you in any way.

Love in Christ,
Michaela"

And we just do what we can and keep pressing on ourselves and examining ourselves lest we ourselves be cast away. Let us work out our salvation with fear and trembling and we may be able to try to save others from the fire. We are just His servants doing our reasonable serve, that which is our duty to do.

I hope whatever calling you have that you're doing your best faithfully! If you're a keeper at home, mother with children doing the same things day in day out, washing dishes, and clothes, cooking, and teaching and training children over and over, rejoice to be where the Lord has you! If you're an older sister and mostly confined to a house...rejoice to do the best you can there and with whoever the Lord has come into your life. If you have to work full time, or serve others, or have more ministry time or if you have some other calling just keep labouring your best sisters! It's all good works for the One who is so worthy of them!

For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.
Ephesians 2:10

Keep pressing on my sisters! Worthy is the Lamb!

Much love in Christ,

Today's Edification (22 June 2024)

Greetings sisters!

Another day! For to live is Christ...to die is gain! Today we have the breath of life and I'm writing again here and you're reading. I hope that means you're seeking after the Lord today and less of the world. There's much we need to do in this world and things of it to do as well...work and 'give to Caesar what is his' etc but praise God not to be entangled in it's pollutions and fleshly lusts anymore.

It is good to remember that life is a vapor. It is here today and could be gone tomorrow. The wisest thing to do is to be preparing for eternity. We know each of us will face death one way or another (except if we live through the very last days before the Lord's glorious return!). May we be ready for death each day. Trusting by faith in our Saviour and not living in any known sin.

Blessed is he whose transgression is forgiven, whose sin is covered. Blessed is the man unto whom the LORD imputeth not iniquity, and in whose spirit there is no guile.
Psalm 32:1-2

Praise God for that hope that we are made clean in Christ!

Come now, and let us reason together, saith the LORD: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool.
Isaiah 1:18

I'm glad we're not crimson with our past sins! Our fellow humans may hold them against us but not God!

Wherefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and hope to the end for the grace that is to be brought unto you at the revelation of Jesus Christ;

As obedient children, not fashioning yourselves according to the former lusts in your ignorance:

But as he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation;

1 Peter 1:13-15

We have a holy high calling to aim for don't we. Something to keep working on daily until we have no more days. May we be faithful unto death.

I came across this scripture.

But I say unto you which hear, Love your enemies, do good to them which hate you,

Bless them that curse you, and pray for them which despitefully use you.

Luke 6:27-28

First of all, are we ones which hear? I hope so. But I was pondering how these are active things we do to those who mistreat us. We are to love...and we know love is actions. We are to do good. We are to bless. We are to pray for them. May we do so for anyone like that in our lives. This is the high calling we have. Not what the flesh wants always but we die to self and love and obey our Master over our wicked flesh. I encourage you to go look up those words in the Greek especially the word 'bless' (and curse) and let us test ourselves and make sure we obey these as that is obeying the gospel which is Jesus Christ. We know punishment is coming for those who obey not the gospel.

I was also thinking about our Saviour and how He become as one of us humans and had the same emotions and feelings that we do. In it all He never sinned of course but it's encouraging to know (as such emotions and feelings are not sinful). I share a few scriptures on some of these. He is our perfect example to imitate.

Being forty days tempted of the devil. And in those days he did eat nothing: and when they were ended, he afterward hungered.
Luke 4:2
And when he had looked round about on them with anger, being grieved for the hardness of their hearts, he saith unto the man, Stretch forth thine hand. And he stretched it out: and his hand was restored whole as the other.
Mark 3:5
And Jesus went forth, and saw a great multitude, and was moved with compassion toward them, and he healed their sick.
Matthew 14:14
In that hour Jesus rejoiced in spirit, and said, I thank thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that thou hast hid these things from the wise and prudent, and hast revealed them unto babes: even so, Father; for so it seemed good in thy sight.
Luke 10:21
And his disciples remembered that it was written, The zeal of thine house hath eaten me up.
John 2:17
Then Jesus beholding him loved him, and said unto him, One thing thou lackest: go thy way, sell whatsoever thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come, take up the cross, and follow me.
Mark 10:21
Now Jacob's well was there. Jesus therefore, being wearied with his journey, sat thus on the well: and it was about the sixth hour.
John 4:6
And on the morrow, when they were come from Bethany, he was hungry:
Mark 11:12
And when he was come near, he beheld the city, and wept over it, Saying, If thou hadst known, even thou, at least in this thy day, the things which belong unto thy peace! but now they are hid from thine eyes.
Luke 19:41-42
When Jesus therefore saw her weeping, and the Jews also weeping which came with her, he groaned in the spirit, and was troubled, And said, Where have ye laid him? They said unto him, Lord, come and see. Jesus wept.
John 11:33-35
And he taketh with him Peter and James and John, and began to be sore amazed, and to be very heavy; And saith unto them, My soul is exceeding sorrowful unto death: tarry ye here, and watch.
Mark 14:33-34
And being in an agony he prayed more earnestly: and his sweat was as it were great drops of blood falling down to the ground.
Luke 22:44

Surely He was one of us. (And we are His sisters if we do the Father's will.)

For verily he took not on him the nature of angels; but he took on him the seed of Abraham.

Wherefore in all things it behoved him to be made like unto his brethren, that he might be a merciful and faithful high priest in things pertaining to God, to make reconciliation for the sins of the people.

For in that he himself hath suffered being tempted, he is able to succour them that are tempted.

Hebrews 2:16-18

Seeing then that we have a great high priest, that is passed into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our profession.

For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin.

Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.

Hebrews 4:14-16

Let us go to our merciful Saviour for help! He will save us and help us through our own temptations and trials! God has been so good to us. I'm so thankful He came down and became one of us to taste death for everyone. How greatly He suffered...the just for the unjust. What a glorious merciful loving forgiving Saviour we have! Let us go to Him for help in time of need.

For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.
Isaiah 9:6

The Prince of Peace...that's wonderful as man in his sinful nature is not peaceful. But we sisters have been called to be peacemakers haven't we. Let us be so. Doesn't mean we don't stand for truth or that we compromise but as much as is possible let us live peaceably.

If it be possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably with all men.
Romans 12:18

Press on after the kingdom first sisters! Hold fast to truth!

But rather seek ye the kingdom of God; and all these things shall be added unto you.  Fear not, little flock; for it is your Father's good pleasure to give you the kingdom.
Luke 12:31-32

Today's Edification (21 June 2024)

Godly greetings to God's holy daughters!

I'm back again because I can be. I hope you're all striving on in the Lord! I am here and have had a busy day. I traveled back again. And got a cleaning job done on the way back. Thankful for safe travels and then different works to do for a bit...if I get the days.

I got to listen to scripture as I traveled...most of the book of Acts (which took two hours). There's so much packed in that book and a whole lot going on indeed! Some things made me smile even though you could have read it hundreds of times. I rejoiced over brother Paul's conversion...for there is joy in heaven over one sinner that repents!

And it made me smile how God turned the picture around completely how Saul was going to kill saints and then he ended up having to escape from that same town for his own faith in Christ!

But all that heard him were amazed, and said; Is not this he that destroyed them which called on this name in Jerusalem, and came hither for that intent, that he might bring them bound unto the chief priests?

But Saul increased the more in strength, and confounded the Jews which dwelt at Damascus, proving that this is very Christ.

And after that many days were fulfilled, the Jews took counsel to kill him:

Acts 9:21-23

And another thing that stood out to me was how in a few instances like Peter's vision about the unclean animals to do with Cornelius and how God prepared both people separately in different locations as he did for Saul and Ananias too. And they came together to do as the Lord showed them both separately. Just is comforting as He does things behind the scenes that we also may not be aware of and lays things out. He truly is our Helper!

And praise God the Gentiles were able to come in too.

Then Peter opened his mouth, and said, Of a truth I perceive that God is no respecter of persons: But in every nation he that feareth him, and worketh righteousness, is accepted with him.
Acts 10:34-35

And it also made me smile how not once, not twice, but three times the Lord opened prison doors! Man's purposes cannot stand against our Lord's will!

And when Herod would have brought him forth, the same night Peter was sleeping between two soldiers, bound with two chains: and the keepers before the door kept the prison.

And, behold, the angel of the Lord came upon him, and a light shined in the prison: and he smote Peter on the side, and raised him up, saying, Arise up quickly. And his chains fell off from his hands.

And the angel said unto him, Gird thyself, and bind on thy sandals. And so he did. And he saith unto him, Cast thy garment about thee, and follow me.

Acts 12:6-8

Also pondering and smiling about how Rhoda who came to answer the knock at the door was too overjoyed to open it that she ran back to tell them first and they were all inside praying...no doubt for Peter's release.

And as Peter knocked at the door of the gate, a damsel came to hearken, named Rhoda.

And when she knew Peter's voice, she opened not the gate for gladness, but ran in, and told how Peter stood before the gate.

And they said unto her, Thou art mad. But she constantly affirmed that it was even so. Then said they, It is his angel.

But Peter continued knocking: and when they had opened the door, and saw him, they were astonished.

Acts 12:13-16

Just sharing thoughts and it was a very thrilling listening session with so many mighty Acts of God going on!

And the healed man leaping and praising God makes me rejoice too! Glory to God for all amazing things! And we get to serve the same God today!

I do recommend listening to long sections of scriptures as I think you can sometimes get more out of it than reading. But there's good in either of course. (I just use the audio that comes with my Bible app. No, not the fake hyped up dramatized one with music I've seen they have but plain and simple scripture read. Yeah I know it's a computerized voice but so is reading the Word off a phone screen computerized. And personally I think that's better than some unbiblical or unbelieving person reading it. And I don't know how to get continuous audio playing from say my own Bible readings online even, so just doing what I can.)

And I understand the book of Acts is a summary of what took place so there would have been quiet moments for sure but still much going on as Christ's body was started!

I also was pondering how the message for action often is 'believe in Christ' or 'repent' and some today would call this having an 'accursed gospel' but I'm going with Peter and Philip and Paul over anyone these days and not going beyond God's Word or calling the precious way after Christ these godly men showed us, and which I believe also, accursed. Of course we live by every word but I'm simply not adding to scripture. If you truly believe Christ...you believe every single word He said...and act upon it.

Now when they heard this, they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men and brethren, what shall we do? Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.
Acts 2:37-38

And brought them out, and said, Sirs, what must I do to be saved? And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.
Acts 16:30-31

My brothers in these scriptures (and elsewhere) were not preaching an accursed gospel (as we may be told if we say the same things). Sisters, test all things to the scriptures. We too can use these scriptures to help people also know what they must do to be saved. Most obviously, true belief leads to obeying everything that comes with faith in Christ, and most obviously true repentance involves turning the whole life to Christ. Christ being the key word. He is the good news to the world so everyone must do things His way! I am proclaiming the true Christ as there is no other name whereby we must be saved and the old law cannot save anyone neither can being outside of Christ and His narrow way of truth. And I'm pointing people to the scriptures so they can go be taught as Jesus said...

Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.
Matthew 28:19-20

As a woman, I don't teach theology/doctrine etc but I can point people to the pure word to be taught! Let us feed on the living bread, Christ, and obey all He tells us to as our faith is in Him. It's all about Him and His death and shed blood for our sins. Let us rejoice in the glad tidings His coming to earth brought and follow after Him with all that we are!

Back to what I was sharing from Acts. I like thinking of how life was then and even simple verses like these give us glimpses. I noticed it said they kneeled to pray, twice.

And when he had thus spoken, he kneeled down, and prayed with them all.

And they all wept sore, and fell on Paul's neck, and kissed him,

Sorrowing most of all for the words which he spake, that they should see his face no more. And they accompanied him unto the ship.

Acts 20:36-38

And when we had accomplished those days, we departed and went our way; and they all brought us on our way, with wives and children, till we were out of the city: and we kneeled down on the shore, and prayed.

And when we had taken our leave one of another, we took ship; and they returned home again.

Acts 21:5-6

Even simple scriptures as these have a lot in there to ponder. I like how it says the wives and children came with as they were seeing Paul off on his sailing journey. Saints kneeling down on the shore praying...I love that picture. And then they returned home again and life went on.

Another thing I was pondering is how we need to be thankful and content in a quiet life and not equate that to 'having less fruit' at all! I was thinking of the accounts in the Word and where people waited a very long time before something major happened in their lives (and by 'major' perhaps we can think we want to be 'more useful to God' or something like that but we need to be faithful and wait and maybe He just wants us to have a really simple quiet life doing what we can while doing other good works.). I heard about Moses and how he started to try to help deliver the children of Israel...but then it was a whole forty years later that God had that for him.

And when forty years were expired, there appeared to him in the wilderness of mount Sina an angel of the Lord in a flame of fire in a bush.
Acts 7:30

We know there are times and seasons but also that the Lord is pleased with peaceable quiet godly lives also.

And that ye study to be quiet, and to do your own business, and to work with your own hands, as we commanded you; That ye may walk honestly toward them that are without, and that ye may have lack of nothing.
1 Thessalonians 4:11-12

You can go ponder and dig into that scripture some more but it talks about striving to hold your peace and mind your own business, working with your hands etc.

Reminds me of these scriptures too...

Now them that are such we command and exhort by our Lord Jesus Christ, that with quietness they work, and eat their own bread.
2 Thessalonians 3:12

I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men;

For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty.

For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour;

Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.

1 Timothy 2:1-4

But let it be the hidden man of the heart, in that which is not corruptible, even the ornament of a meek and quiet spirit, which is in the sight of God of great price.
1 Peter 3:4

And this may be especially so of a godly woman it would seem. So we can know if the Lord has us leading such a life as our calling it is a good thing. This is our good fruit not some other life that God doesn't even have for us that we may think would be more 'fruitful'. We don't want to get unrealistic views of this life following after Christ. It can be very simple and quiet and uneventful if you want to say it that way. It's a glorious life and we will have to go through trials and persecution because of our faith but it's peaceful (especially if we're past all the major changes needed when we repent) and if we're thankful and content then this is our witness for Christ too. Oh sure there will be spiritual battles within a quiet life but let us rejoice in His Word and the truth to walk in of leading a quiet life and how that pleases God. No, quiet doesn't always mean it isn't noisy or super busy but just...well I'm sure you know sisters:-) Just like not well known or highly esteemed or perhaps not seen much by the world and certainly not popular or out making trouble and things like that. Especially perhaps as keepers of the home and raising children or serving others...it's just simple and largely unnoticed.

I was thinking also about how important being consistent in our witness is too. Let's keep striving not to grow weary in well doing sisters! God is watching and so are others and we know how devastating it can seem when someone turns back from following the Lord. Sad but we press on hard after our Saviour and take warning lest it happen to us.

Wherefore let him that thinketh he standeth take heed lest he fall.
1 Corinthians 10:12

We also may know how faith-rocking it can be when someone you thought was godly and in all truth fails or does things so contrary to sound doctrine. But again our eyes must be on Christ alone and not man. But the lesson for us sisters is that others are watching and we can actually seriously stumble them if we do something contrary to the Lord's ways. May we not cause a little one to stumble lest we get worse punishment than a millstone drowning.

I was also pondering how a woman...particularly a wife has to balance submission with being Spirit-led. Well all women who have an authority over them have to but if they don't then they have the Lord as their sole authority. The Lord is everyone's authority but some women have human authorities over them. Well we all have human authorities over us really as we are subject to government etc as God commands us to be. Of course women still aren't to take authority in positions that men are to have especially in the body. And of course a wife obeys God over man but sometimes there may be things she may not be sure on and then other things she may think differently on. Then I think of the scripture about winning without the Word that a godly wife is to obey God no matter what and in this she may be a great good influence.

Let's suppose a woman comes to the Lord and sees that Christmas is pagan and she wants nothing to do with it but her husband does. Now surely there will be a battle if he does not want her to spoil their 'special day' and give it up and he has to do everything. You can see how strong a woman would have to be and how sure she would have to be that she was doing right because she may feel guilty that she was disobeying her husband if she wasn't completely sure Christmas (or anything else) wasn't biblical. So she must be very sure on all the areas she has to disobey her husband in. I'm not saying Christmas isn't obviously wrong as it is but just as an example. And I do understand that when your eyes are just opening you may not see it in it's full sinfulnes as you may in a year's time.

Then we can think of Sapphira. Sure she may have obeyed the command to submit to her husband...but it was to her own demise. A wife does have a potentially really difficult life to balance obedience to the Lord herself and then submission to her husband. Because not everyone has a perfect marriage of two very godly biblical people which would make it much easier but still there's always some areas to work out. And we know some sisters come to the Lord and their husbands remain unbelievers. We know few come.

As we know, Paul wanted to spare people this trouble in the flesh and suggested they remain single. Whatever calling we have...we just need to be faithful in it. And remember that one sin of a wife going along with a disobedient husband cost Sapphira her soul. May the Lord help you sisters who are wives to obey God in willing cheerful submission and respect and love to your husbands. May He also give you the strength and grace to obey God over man where it comes to that and not to compromise like it appears Sapphira did unless she was in full agreement without any doubts about it...I can't know the whole story. May the Lord give you wisdom from the Word to see the truth to follow and much courage and fear of God not man to overcome and do what's right...no matter what!

Also I would have to include...may a woman never lead her husband into sin either. Now we see that clearly in Genesis and it didn't go well at all for them and the course of history. But sadly this is a very very common thing in the world and among those who claim to believe but may it not be so among the true daughters of the Most High God. We don't want to lead anyone astray or cause them to stumble.

Just lots of pondering and sharing from that today sisters...perhaps something was useful to you and edifying! Keep pressing on in your calling! Don't grow weary in the good works in front of you!

Strive on sisters! My love be with you.

Today's Edification (20 June 2024)

Salutations to my sisters!

Here is another day to live for the One who died for us! What a glorious life to live despite the trials of it! We are not our own but bought with a price!

I was thinking of some scriptures to start our days if we need a little encouragement to get out of bed sometimes:-) It's always a great day to serve the Lord!

But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.
Isaiah 40:31
Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.
1 Corinthians 15:58
For which cause we faint not; but though our outward man perish, yet the inward man is renewed day by day.
2 Corinthians 4:16
And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.
Galatians 6:9

We're blessed to have such hope in Christ! We know our hope is to come if we press through this life and any trial in it! We just keep going! Our reward is for if we patiently endure to the end!

For ye have need of patience, that, after ye have done the will of God, ye might receive the promise.
Hebrews 10:36

Patience...that's a huge trait we need to have. We see what happens when people are impatient in things and how much less should we be impatient about obtaining eternal life. No, it's worth waiting really patiently for and labouring to be found worthy. He is worthy!

People get impatient and give up in the faith too because this world is absolutely filled with millions of distractions and allurements for the flesh. And it's filled with lies to make the narrow road supposedly easier...but we know it's the patient race of endurance in the truth that will lead to being allowed to enter the gates of heaven.

Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city.
Revelation 22:14

Press on my sisters! It's the 'old paths' of the faith once delivered and not all these new false doctrines coming in these last days.

I was thinking of this scripture...

Unto Adam also and to his wife did the LORD God make coats of skins, and clothed them.
Genesis 3:21

And about Joseph and his coat of many colours (same Hebrew word).

Now Israel loved Joseph more than all his children, because he was the son of his old age: and he made him a coat of many colours.
Genesis 37:3

I was just thinking how interesting it is that people draw pictures of that and it's long and loose and yet that's what God clothed Adam and Eve in after they had done a poor job covering up. We all know how people dress up in biblical clothing for their fake acting of biblical events but don't consider it is how God clothed us and for today. Humans are going back to Adam and Eve's improper clothing attempts in varying degrees.

Sometimes after a day of work whether you leave your house to go into the world or work in the house in the world you can really be thirsting for spiritual things by the end of, or throughout the day. But we can remember God has called us to work, otherwise we don't eat. But we can be thankful for this feeling because we know where to go to be fed spiritual things - His Word! - and then be even more thankful for quiet times to ponder and be still and know He is God, and pray. We know saints are scattered around the world and not likely there will be much face to face fellowship possible...but even if it's a little encouragement online long distance that's refreshing too! And I'm blessed to pour out here and that's satisfying too! But while on this earth we are absent from the Lord and pilgrims and strangers. And we long for and look for that eternal heavenly city to come where the Lord and His saints are. Let us keep patiently enduring this place that isn't our home, yet God has work for us to do here.

Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled.
Matthew 5:6

Let us go to the Lord to be filled! Blessed we are if our heart hungers and thirsts after righteousness. Mine does. And I'm sure my true sisters around the world do too! I can describe it as a craving and a longing for truth and all good things...for the Lord Himself and for labouring for Him. We know we need to have zeal and fervor and a pressing forwards and striving. We have to press into the kingdom. Nothing half-hearted will do. We have to be all in or nothing...as we can't serve two masters.

My soul thirsteth for God, for the living God: when shall I come and appear before God?
Psalm 42:2

I was also pondering how sometimes we may do something...and then afterwards think yeah I won't do that again. And while it may not have been sinful, just there's so many different experiences we face and we can only learn through going through them sometimes and the Lord gives us wisdom. If the Lord has us to live fifty more years...well we'll be able to praise God for all the wisdom He gave us by then! Let us remember that fearing God is the start of wisdom. If we don't have that...well we are foolish instead.

And unto man he said, Behold, the fear of the Lord, that is wisdom; and to depart from evil is understanding.
Job 28:28
A wise man feareth, and departeth from evil: but the fool rageth, and is confident.
Proverbs 14:16

Keep pressing on my sisters! Look to Jesus our faithful High Priest! He is merciful.

For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin.

Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.

Hebrews 4:15-16
