Greetings sisters!

Well today I had a really busy day but so I am going to write a quick post here and hope your day also went well in the Lord.

"That they do good, that they be rich in good works, ready to distribute, willing to communicate; Laying up in store for themselves a good foundation against the time to come, that they may lay hold on eternal life."

1 Timothy 6:18-19

I did a lot of sewing, cleaning, and then some cooking today. Even though that may not seem like much, it filled my day for the most part. And they are certainly things that are good for a godly woman to do and serve others in them. I'm sure many of you have similar jobs to do. And we glorify and please God in them, doing them with thankfulness.

I finished sewing another skirt....

And posted both of them off to my sister in the Lord overseas...

I was cleaning at another family members house...

And then cooked tea....

Saw this amazing flower...

And these...

And these....

And more of God's peaceful creation....

Lord willing I shall be back here tomorrow.

"But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus. Now unto God and our Father be glory for ever and ever. Amen."

Philippians 4:19-20

More Than Food and Raiment

Greetings sisters who love the Lord!

"Herein is my Father glorified, that ye bear much fruit; so shall ye be my disciples. As the Father hath loved me, so have I loved you: continue ye in my love. If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father's commandments, and abide in his love."

John 15:8-10

How are your Titus 2 and Proverbs 31 duties going these days? It's encouraging to know there are some godly women out there content with their roles the Lord made them for and diligently fill them and go about their work.

I thought you might like this pic of a week of meals for tea that I made this last week. It's such a blessing that we can have such good food...and have fresh produce from the garden and fresh milk and eggs. And I just get to put it all together and serve it to others.

And I was doing these potatoes tonight and thinking how it's such a simple thing and a simple food. Yet they are delicious and a blessing from God not to take for granted.

And most all of us sisters would have good access to clothing too so we should be more than content.

"And having food and raiment let us be therewith content."

1 Timothy 6:8

I have a lot to do with food and raiment in my life. I cook and harvest food and I do some sewing of raiment. We have an abundance of clothing really in most of these countries even if it requires some patient hunting to find biblical clothing, it still is easy to find today to clothe our temples as we ought.

And we don't so much face this....but we might.

"If a brother or sister be naked, and destitute of daily food, And one of you say unto them, Depart in peace, be ye warmed and filled; notwithstanding ye give them not those things which are needful to the body; what doth it profit? Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone.

James 2:15-17

Then we could be like Dorcas who sewed for others.

"Now there was at Joppa a certain disciple named Tabitha, which by interpretation is called Dorcas: this woman was full of good works and almsdeeds which she did.

And it came to pass in those days, that she was sick, and died: whom when they had washed, they laid her in an upper chamber.

And forasmuch as Lydda was nigh to Joppa, and the disciples had heard that Peter was there, they sent unto him two men, desiring him that he would not delay to come to them.

Then Peter arose and went with them. When he was come, they brought him into the upper chamber: and all the widows stood by him weeping, and shewing the coats and garments which Dorcas made, while she was with them.

But Peter put them all forth, and kneeled down, and prayed; and turning him to the body said, Tabitha, arise. And she opened her eyes: and when she saw Peter, she sat up.

And he gave her his hand, and lifted her up, and when he had called the saints and widows, presented her alive.

And it was known throughout all Joppa; and many believed in the Lord."

Acts 9:36-42

That's amazing....the dead being raised by the power of Jesus Christ! And that must have been a sad occasion for the poor and the widows when she died. It seems like she was certainly a good worker and a very kind woman...well it says she was "full of good works and alms deeds". Certainly sounds like a good example for us sisters to look to!

It seems she sure would have fit this category...which describes a godly woman's work (for being supported as a widow).

"Well reported of for good works; if she have brought up children, if she have lodged strangers, if she have washed the saints' feet, if she have relieved the afflicted, if she have diligently followed every good work."

1 Timothy 5:10

Of course she died again and is with the Father and we shall all be together one day if we all endure...and get eternal life!

"Neither can they die any more: for they are equal unto the angels; and are the children of God, being the children of the resurrection."

Luke 20:36

But so we are to be content with food and clothing. Think of all the things above and beyond those two things that we have in our physical lives. So many things...too many to list; things like heaters and coolers and houses and blankets and shoes and cars and phones and running water and hair brushes:-) and sewing machines and on and on, not to mention the great variety of foods and things. So we have an abundance of blessings and we have much to be thankful for for sure!

I hope none of us grumble about anything. There's plenty of grumblers and unthankful people in the world...let it not be among us sisters.

"Moreover, brethren, I would not that ye should be ignorant, how that all our fathers were under the cloud, and all passed through the sea;

And were all baptized unto Moses in the cloud and in the sea;

And did all eat the same spiritual meat;

And did all drink the same spiritual drink: for they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them: and that Rock was Christ.

But with many of them God was not well pleased: for they were overthrown in the wilderness.

Now these things were our examples, to the intent we should not lust after evil things, as they also lusted.

Neither be ye idolaters, as were some of them; as it is written, The people sat down to eat and drink, and rose up to play.

Neither let us commit fornication, as some of them committed, and fell in one day three and twenty thousand.

Neither let us tempt Christ, as some of them also tempted, and were destroyed of serpents.

Neither murmur ye, as some of them also murmured, and were destroyed of the destroyer.

Now all these things happened unto them for ensamples: and they are written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the world are come.

Wherefore let him that thinketh he standeth take heed lest he fall."

1 Corinthians 10:1-12

Amen and praise God for giving us plenty of examples and warnings in His Word.

Let us sisters be content and so thankful. Of course most of all we can be thankful for the gospel, new life in the Spirit, and the hope we can have of eternal life to come!

(Thank you sister for the these pics of God's creation:-)

"Blessed is the people that know the joyful sound: they shall walk, O Lord, in the light of thy countenance."

Psalm 89:15

Well sisters I hope you have a fruitful and joyous day going about the things you all do as godly women.

"Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us, Unto him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen."

Ephesians 3:20-21

Simply My Day

Greetings in the Lord sisters!

"Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,

To an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you,

Who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.

Wherein ye greatly rejoice, though now for a season, if need be, ye are in heaviness through manifold temptations:

That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ:

Whom having not seen, ye love; in whom, though now ye see him not, yet believing, ye rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory:

Receiving the end of your faith, even the salvation of your souls."

1 Peter 1:3-9

I read this today and was pondering it....

"Whosoever therefore shall be ashamed of me and of my words in this adulterous and sinful generation; of him also shall the Son of man be ashamed, when he cometh in the glory of his Father with the holy angels."

Mark 8:38

And wondering if there are ways we have to fight in some moments of our flesh of doing that. We know that God has chosen things that are despised in the world's eyes.

"For ye see your calling, brethren, how that not many wise men after the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called:

But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty;

And base things of the world, and things which are despised, hath God chosen, yea, and things which are not, to bring to nought things that are:

That no flesh should glory in his presence."

1 Corinthians 1:26-29

We can rejoice to be that way for Christ's sake! Our flesh sometimes needs reminding of that though! So we shouldn't expect to be loved by the world. There's a problem if we are.

"Then Peter and the other apostles answered and said, We ought to obey God rather than men."

Acts 5:29

So in some real life ways here, I hope and pray we are bold to obey His commands for us as women. The Lord commands us women how to dress...so we must not be ashamed of that! And I mention that because it seems to be a huge area of rebellion for women (and men too I guess). And so in that we obey God rather than man.

And the world says that to be a keeper at home and to raise children is foolish too. But it's what the Lord would have women do, so it is good indeed! We are not ashamed of that!

And the world says it's foolish for a woman to submit to her husband (or to male authority) too. But again we sisters don't listen to them and would rather be fools for Christ's sake which is doing the roles that God Himself intended and first created us for. It is being meek and quiet, not wanting to be heard but doing good in serving those we ought to.

There's so many areas we could ponder about how we could possibly be ashamed, even in tiny ways, of Christ's words even if we don't realise we are doing it.

And it would be different for everyone but I hope we don't do it of course...but it's something to ponder.

A few other areas might be how we have to separate from sinful people who claim to be believers. They might do things and want you to participate but you know those things are wrong. It might be something like Sunday ritual gatherings, or Christmass or Easter celebrations or unbiblical weddings or birthday parties or many other things but we know we are to separate from all sin and false ways especially of those who claim to love and follow Christ but keep sinful things and ways. So we must do so standing boldly on the truth of God's Word that tells us to separate from those things and be holy.

Let us set our faces like flint and do the Lord's will no matter what.

"For the Lord God will help me; therefore shall I not be confounded: therefore have I set my face like a flint, and I know that I shall not be ashamed."

Isaiah 50:7

Amen. And even if you are the only one you know fully obeying God and are alone then you must press on. One day if we all are faithful we shall be rewarded.

We know to expect this...

"And ye shall be hated of all men for my name's sake: but he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved."

Mark 13:13

A sister in the Lord sent me this scripture picture. They had some snow today.

We appreciate edifying and encouraging each other daily in the Word and sharing our simple lives as godly women. There are truly few who love the Lord and would do anything and everything He commands in His Word.

And she sent me this awesome sunset scripture picture...

And this one too and I added the scripture.

Reminds me of this....

"Then Peter said, Silver and gold have I none; but such as I have give I thee: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk.

And he took him by the right hand, and lifted him up: and immediately his feet and ankle bones received strength.

And he leaping up stood, and walked, and entered with them into the temple, walking, and leaping, and praising God.

And all the people saw him walking and praising God:"

Acts 3:6-9

That lame man got something better than money!

And this....

"And were beyond measure astonished, saying, He hath done all things well: he maketh both the deaf to hear, and the dumb to speak."

Mark 7:37

Amen. Christ is the healer of the body but above all He can save our souls from eternal death!

And I was reminded of the time I got to see a bit of snow falling in another state. That was a rare treat.

And spot the robin on the rock....

He's a pretty creation!

"Behold the fowls of the air: for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. Are ye not much better than they?"

Matthew 6:2

Today I finished sewing this skirt (well almost finished as I haven't done the hem yet). It was a new project for me with learning sewing with knit fabrics. It's a lightweight soft type knit. It went well for the most part:-) At least the sewing with the knit fabric went well but I had a math error but nothing horrifically major...as it's still a totally good skirt. So I plan to be sewing some more for my shop soon.

And I picked apples and made a dessert. That's a treat. We don't normally have that many apples from our own trees.

And made some pumpkin soup...which was cozy on a cold night.

"In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you."

1 Thessalonians 5:18

OK sisters. That's some of my day; some simple things of a woman in Titus 2 and Proverbs 31 roles. Maybe it could edify and bless you too as you go about life in the Lord in these things.

Lord willing I shall be back tomorrow.

"Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and to present you faultless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy, To the only wise God our Saviour, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and ever. Amen."

Jude 1:24-25

Laying His Word to Heart

Greetings sisters!

I hope you are all strong in the Lord today and obedient to His ways.

"If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit."

Galatians 5:25

I've been keeping busy with housework and some sewing in these days. I might share about that when I'm finished.

I was reading recently and came across the scripture where it says about laying to heart...so I looked them all up.

"If ye will not hear, and if ye will not lay it to heart, to give glory unto my name, saith the Lord of hosts, I will even send a curse upon you, and I will curse your blessings: yea, I have cursed them already, because ye do not lay it to heart."

Malachi 2:2

There's several places in scripture but its something to ponder about how seriously we take the things of God in our own lives.

And I like this....

"But Mary kept all these things, and pondered them in her heart."

Luke 2:19

We can do that with things we might face too...as well as with all we read in the Word.

Maybe it goes along with this one.

"A fool uttereth all his mind: but a wise man keepeth it in till afterwards."

Proverbs 29:11

And also as women who ought to have more silence about us, we can ponder many things; our hearts, our ways, our actions, our thoughts. We can think about our Lord and in our hearts give Him glory and praise thankful to be His daughters redeemed from death.

As women we are not to have external adornment but instead a uncorruptable adornment of the heart with meekness and quietness.

"But let it be the hidden man of the heart, in that which is not corruptible, even the ornament of a meek and quiet spirit, which is in the sight of God of great price."

1 Peter 3:4

Our words come from our hearts too. If our heart is good and pure then only good should come out of it into words. Like what it says in James 3, about a fountain cannot be both salt and fresh water.

"A good man out of the good treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is evil: for of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaketh."

Luke 6:45

And today us sisters have to not be swayed and deceived by religious people who are like this...

"This people draweth nigh unto me with their mouth, and honoureth me with their lips; but their heart is far from me. But in vain they do worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men."

Matthew 15:8-9

If we have been born again through the gospel then we will have a new heart.

Amen what a blessing and miracle to get a new heart!

From then we will want to be taking everything of God's truth from His word seriously to heart.

"Therefore also now, saith the Lord, turn ye even to me with all your heart, and with fasting, and with weeping, and with mourning: And rend your heart, and not your garments, and turn unto the Lord your God: for he is gracious and merciful, slow to anger, and of great kindness, and repenteth him of the evil."

Joel 2:12-13

So because this is a women's blog, we all have to take what God commands for women to heart. We don't just think about them, we must act to obey all He wants from us. That means we are to be cultivating a meek and quiet sprit, not adorning our outsides, wearing a covering, dressing biblical, and along with many other things like being chaste, shamefaced, sober minded, good, and a keeper at home as Titus 2 says for us.

All because our hearts have been made new by the Spirit of God.

I hope this assortment of verses and thoughts can edify you. Let us take God's truth seriously in our hearts.

OK sisters, Lord willing I shall be back again tomorrow.

Easy Tuna Slice Recipe

Good day!

I wanted to quickly share another meal idea/recipe. (This is quite a large recipe so would serve around 8-10 but can be halved.)

It only has a few simple ingredients...

2 x425g tins of tuna drained

4 cups of grated cheddar cheese

2 onions, finely chopped

8 sheets puff pastry*

4 eggs + 1 extra

(*note on the puff pastry. I'm not sure which countries have these ready made sheets of pastry. I didn't see them when I was in Canada so not sure if they're available everywhere. I am in Australia.)

Combine tuna, cheese, onion, and 4 eggs.

Lay one sheet of puff pastry on to a lined baking tray and top with a quarter of the mixture.

Lay another sheet of pastry on top and press all around the edge with your fingers. Prick several times with a fork.

Brush with beaten extra egg. Bake in a hot oven (200C/390F) for about half an hour or until golden.

Sisters Sharing Scripture Pictures

Good day sisters!

I hope my post today finds you well and thriving in the Lord in His strength. We need His strength don't we sisters! He is our very life!

"I am the true vine, and my Father is the husbandman.

Every branch in me that beareth not fruit he taketh away: and every branch that beareth fruit, he purgeth it, that it may bring forth more fruit.

Now ye are clean through the word which I have spoken unto you.

Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me.

I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.

If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned.

If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you.

Herein is my Father glorified, that ye bear much fruit; so shall ye be my disciples.

As the Father hath loved me, so have I loved you: continue ye in my love.

If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father's commandments, and abide in his love."

John 15:1-10

I have an assortment of scripture verse pictures to share today. Some pictures are from a sister in the Lord and some from me but we just share them together and so I post them here for edification among all the sisters, present or future. May the Lord always be glorified in all we do.

"For with thee is the fountain of life: in thy light shall we see light. O continue thy lovingkindness unto them that know thee; and thy righteousness to the upright in heart."
Psalm 36:9-10

"Thus saith the Lord God, Behold, I will lift up mine hand to the Gentiles, and set up my standard to the people: and they shall bring thy sons in their arms, and thy daughters shall be carried upon their shoulders."
Isaiah 49:22

(Thank you sister saint for the ones you shared with me. )

I hope those could bless you. And the fact that there are godly women out there, though few, doing the Lord's work in their own quiet way not out seeking for vain glory of man but instead doing what is glorifying to their God. And we rejoice when we can share some of our lives together though separated by thousands and thousands of miles perhaps.

"Finally, be ye all of one mind, having compassion one of another, love as brethren, be pitiful, be courteous:"

1 Peter 3:8

Pondering Meaningful Words

Good day sisters, wherever you are!

"Grace be with you, mercy, and peace, from God the Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of the Father, in truth and love."

2 John 1:3

I had an idea to share some words that are just that, simple words, and yet they have so much meaning within them.

And I'll share just one scripture on each but they are worth your own studies on each one for sure. His Word is full of treasures!

I thought we sisters could ponder these words together...and be edified. God is good to us.

Peace

"Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee : because he trusteth in thee."

Isaiah 26:3

Mercy

"For as the heaven is high above the earth, so great is his mercy toward them that fear him."

Psalm 103:11

Love

"Hereby perceive we the love of God, because he laid down his life for us: and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren."

1 John 3:16

Joy

"These things have I spoken unto you, that my joy might remain in you, and that your joy might be full."

John 15:11

Hope

"Rejoicing in hope; patient in tribulation; continuing instant in prayer;"

Romans 12:12

Grace

"For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men, Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world;"

Titus 2:11-12

Forgiveness

"But there is forgiveness with thee, that thou mayest be feared."

Psalm 130:4

Goodness

"And the Lord passed by before him, and proclaimed, The Lord, The Lord God, merciful and gracious, longsuffering, and abundant in goodness and truth,"

Exodus 34:6

Light

"I am come a light into the world, that whosoever believeth on me should not abide in darkness."

John 12:46

Trust

"But we had the sentence of death in ourselves, that we should not trust in ourselves, but in God which raiseth the dead:"

2 Corinthians 1:9

Truth

"And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth."

John 1:14

Longsuffering

"Or despisest thou the riches of his goodness and forbearance and longsuffering; not knowing that the goodness of God leadeth thee to repentance?"

Romans 2:4

Justice

"Justice and judgment are the habitation of thy throne: mercy and truth shall go before thy face."

Psalm 89:14

Righteousness

"For the righteous Lord loveth righteousness; his countenance doth behold the upright."

Psalm 11:7

Pure

"And every man that hath this hope in him purifieth himself, even as he is pure."

John 3:3

Saints

"Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus."

Deuteronomy 7:9

Glory

"And the temple was filled with smoke from the glory of God, and from his power; and no man was able to enter into the temple, till the seven plagues of the seven angels were fulfilled."

Revelation 15:8

Life

"Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me."

John 14:6

Heaven

"To an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you,"

1 Peter 1:4

Resurrection

"Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live:"

John 11:25

Holy

"Who shall not fear thee, O Lord, and glorify thy name? for thou only art holy: for all nations shall come and worship before thee; for thy judgments are made manifest."

Revelation 15:4

And I know there's so many more than that of course. I could go on and on but that's enough for today:-)

Praise God for all these words and what they mean. After man sinned in the Garden, things were bad and we don't deserve to live but there is great hope offered to us through the redemption in His Son.

"In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace;"

Ephesians 1:7

Not to be one sided of course, there are words to warn us and that show of what is true if we are outside of God or living in sin. Words like wrath, judgement, destruction, punish, death, evil, sin, darkness, hell which are all just as important and true as the rest and we do well to examine our lives and see who we really are. Of course we must consider those words and their meanings too lest we only have half truth which is very dangerous indeed.

You can test your life against the biblical gospel here

OK sisters. Let us rejoice in the Lord for all He has done for us. We deserved nothing but the worst punishment and yet we can get to be with the Father because of His Son for all eternity with all His holy saints if we endure!

And we can say this....

"The Lord hath done great things for us; whereof we are glad."

Psalm 126:3

Amen!

We praise Him for His truth which sets us free and for the hope of salvation to come!

Glory to God!
