Today's Edification (19 February 2024)

Greetings sisters!

Another good day to serve the One who is worthy and who came to die for us and save us from our sins! Let us rejoice in Him!

And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.

Luke 2:10-11

And the angel answered and said unto the women, Fear not ye: for I know that ye seek Jesus, which was crucified.

He is not here: for he is risen, as he said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay.

And go quickly, and tell his disciples that he is risen from the dead; and, behold, he goeth before you into Galilee; there shall ye see him: lo, I have told you.

And they departed quickly from the sepulchre with fear and great joy; and did run to bring his disciples word.

Matthew 28:5-8

Let us rejoice in His coming and in His resurrection every day! And now we are looking for His second coming...which will be in flaming fire for those who are not obeying Him, but with great joy to be caught up together with Him for His saints!

When he shall come to be glorified in his saints, and to be admired in all them that believe (because our testimony among you was believed) in that day.

2 Thessalonians 1:10

Let us be prepared and watching at all times, being good servants, occupied and doing the Master's will while He is gone.

Who then is a faithful and wise servant, whom his lord hath made ruler over his household, to give them meat in due season?

Blessed is that servant, whom his lord when he cometh shall find so doing.

Verily I say unto you, That he shall make him ruler over all his goods.

Matthew 24:45-47

Good to ponder on the fruits of the Spirit. They are the opposite of the ways of the flesh as also listed in the Word.

But the fruit of the Spirit is...

love,
joy,
peace,
longsuffering,
gentleness,
goodness,
faith,
Meekness,
temperance:

against such there is no law.

Galatians 5:22-23

(For the fruit of the Spirit is in all

goodness and

righteousness and

truth;)

Ephesians 5:9

And similarly this...

But the wisdom that is from above is first

pure,
then peaceable,
gentle, and
easy to be intreated,
full of mercy and good fruits,
without partiality, and
without hypocrisy.

And the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace of them that make peace.

James 3:17-18

God's ways are so good! Perfect when we crucify our flesh to walk in them all with His help!

Out of the same mouth proceedeth blessing and cursing. My brethren, these things ought not so to be.

Doth a fountain send forth at the same place sweet water and bitter?

James 3:10-11

May there only be blessing and sweet water in our words and writings.

Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit.

A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit.

Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.

Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.

Matthew 7:17-20

May our lives bear much good fruit as well, good works and fruits of the Spirit!

Let the woman learn in silence with all subjection. But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence.

1 Timothy 2:11-12

Good to keep that in mind. I was pondering how we can't think and do what we think is the best thing for the best 'good' (in our own minds). We must obey God first. And He is fully capable of getting done what we cannot do. We may think it's good that everyone and anyone be taught all God's doctrines as much as possible. But that is not a godly woman's job. And we submit to His ways.

Let us keep obeying this and testing ourselves to make sure we are. Silence and submission are big parts of a godly woman's life (as is shamefacedness and sobriety and many such things).

Let your women keep silence in the churches: for it is not permitted unto them to speak; but they are commanded to be under obedience, as also saith the law.

And if they will learn any thing, let them ask their husbands at home: for it is a shame for women to speak in the church.

1 Corinthians 14:34-35

Sometimes it is of satan when something tries to silence the truth being taught...but in this case it is of satan if we women speak up and be teaching or in authority over men.

But I would have you know, that the head of every man is Christ; and the head of the woman is the man; and the head of Christ is God.

1 Corinthians 11:3

It leads to no good when things are out of God's order...

As for my people, children are their oppressors, and women rule over them. O my people, they which lead thee cause thee to err, and destroy the way of thy paths.

Isaiah 3:12

We know today there are some very popular and famous women teachers in the so called body of Christ. Goes along with the perilous times we are in today. The deception is huge. Come soon, Lord Jesus!

But let us do what we are commanded to do...older women to teach younger women as in Titus 2 and we know we can tell others of the good news of Jesus the Saviour of the world! We can edify and encourage sisters in the Word and in women's duties! And there's many other good works we are commanded to do! If you have godly men you know about then you can point people to them to be taught. That would be a great blessing for us women to have indeed!

Today was a 're-orientation' day for me. Travelling back and forth, you have to relearn what's in the fridge and pantry to cook with at each place etc. And then it gets easier and in keeping on top of things. I hope all your Titus 2 works are going well also sisters! Let's keep remembering what is pleasing to the Lord and make sure we are keeping on top of all we should be doing and doing the best we can!

Autumn is almost here. Just as there are times and seasons in His creation...we also have times and seasons in our own spiritual and physical lives and things may change and sometimes stay the same for a long time.

Our God changes not!
Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever.
Hebrews 13:8
He is our Rock in the changes all around us.
For I am the LORD, I change not; therefore ye sons of Jacob are not consumed.
Malachi 3:6

Cheery sunflower creations for my sisters...

It's single plant that just came up from a seed in chicken food. Makes me think that you never know what one seed of truth we sow can do in someone's life.

The sower soweth the word.
Mark 4:14

I know a sister who particularly likes sunflowers:-) But I'm sure we all do as they're awesome creations He made! Glory to the Creator...not the creation!
