Today's Edification (17 February 2024)

Greetings sister soldiers of Christ!

Grace be with you, mercy, and peace, from God the Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of the Father, in truth and love.

2 John 1:3

Praise God for the power to become His children!

But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.

John 1:12-13

Let us act as His children should. He is a good Father!

It's sad when people take lightly our Lord and say it's only Paul we should mostly listen to today. What a perfect example our Lord is...let us sisters be His disciples, following Him!

For even hereunto were ye called: because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that ye should follow his steps:

Who did no sin, neither was guile found in his mouth:

Who, when he was reviled, reviled not again; when he suffered, he threatened not; but committed himself to him that judgeth righteously:

Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.

For ye were as sheep going astray; but are now returned unto the Shepherd and Bishop of your souls.

1 Peter 2:21-25

We know we have to hate our own life...

He that loveth his life shall lose it; and he that hateth his life in this world shall keep it unto life eternal.

John 12:25

If any man come to me, and hate not his father, and mother, and wife, and children, and brethren, and sisters, yea, and his own life also, he cannot be my disciple. And whosoever doth not bear his cross, and come after me, cannot be my disciple.

Luke 14:26-27

Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me. For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: and whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it.

Matthew 16:24-25

Let us be His disciples, bearing much fruit!

Herein is my Father glorified, that ye bear much fruit; so shall ye be my disciples.

John 15:8

I hope all your godly woman works are going well, sisters. The Lord has created us to be helpers so all those physical works we have to do are pleasing to Him too! Keeping the home...washing dishes, washing clothes, cooking, cleaning, shopping and all such duties are good works for us to do! Keep going in those too sisters...not growing weary in well doing!

To be discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God be not blasphemed.

Titus 2:5

We see and know that we do have different roles and callings to the men. We are not leaders and teachers and preachers like the men may be. But we submit to our roles and rejoice to be godly women set free from the vain and false ways of the world!

Sometimes you may remember something from the past of who you used to be or what you used to do. And it just puts in you a deeper thankfulness to not be back there anymore! Praise God!

For we ourselves also were sometimes foolish, disobedient, deceived, serving divers lusts and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful, and hating one another.

But after that the kindness and love of God our Saviour toward man appeared,

Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;

Which he shed on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Saviour;

That being justified by his grace, we should be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life.

This is a faithful saying, and these things I will that thou affirm constantly, that they which have believed in God might be careful to maintain good works. These things are good and profitable unto men.

Titus 3:3-8

Amen! Praise God for calling us out of darkness into light! And now we strive to maintain good works...lest we have believed in vain. I know my sisters are so thankful to not be where they once were!

I was thinking how small our labours in the gospel may seem compared to the whole world population. Indeed the harvest is great but the labourers few. If we were lost physically we would want to know someone was out looking for us. So too spiritually the saints are out looking for lost sheep...whether that's in person face to face, or on the internet which is a huge unending 'mission field' so to speak. It is one of the good works we have to do. Let us all keep going, doing what we can, in whatever life the Lord has for us!

For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost.

Luke 19:10

Keep standing fast in the truth and walking in it, sisters! If the Lord wills, I shall be back sharing edification here tomorrow after bus travel to the children's again. I don't forget my sisters so if I dissappear, something out of the ordinary must have happened. Many things that could affect sharing here like technical failure and health issues and such but the Lord has made a way 99.999% of the time every day for over three years. Glory to God! I plan to continue as long as He allows! One day if things get so much darker we may all be completely cut off and all on our own. We need to be prepared to stand strong alone and be like faithful Noah in a wicked generation. We do not and must not compromise for fellowship with others either at the expense of truth and obedience. But the Lord is with us and we will be with Him and His saints forever if we endure! All eyes on Christ, sisters, no matter what we have to deal with. He is peace in the storms.

Strive on!

Peace & mercy to you in Christ,

Sister Chayil
